Does this process replace screen and recoating? Instead of needing to sand/screen a floor, I can just take these steps to recoat for someone?

If the floor is in good overall condition, doing the cleaning process with TyKote will replace screening.

I used squeaky in a pinch to clean windows... Zero streaks or any residue! Ran out of glass cleaner and I was like what can I use lol. Well squeaky was it!

I am a homeowner and have 1967 beautiful wood floors. I had a company come in, tint and finish my living room/dining room and hall. I choose the medium level that they told me would last 3-5 years. I paid $800. I do have 2 small dogs and grandchildren but the floors are definitely showing alot of wear. I do only use Squeaky on them with microfiber pad. My question is 1) what would be a harder finish that I can apply to them and how can I tint darker the color they applied? 2) they used a weed sprayer to apply the tint and it is on my walls and wood woodwork, when I contacted them they told me to use windex to remove it, but it didnt work. Suggestions on what to use? I am more than willing to do all the work myself with your system I just need a checklist on how to go about it. I don't want to cover these floors with carpet but I hate how they look. Thank you for your time and advise. Debbie

This video was very informative! I appreciate the great content! Out of curiosity do you recommend still using the Acrylic test kit even if the owner already knows that wax was used on the floor? Or do you only use the kit when the specific products previously used on the floors is unknown? Lastly, does the kit tell you or give you an indication of how bad the wax build up is or how much wax was previously used? Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide regarding these questions!

I have a question... How often does a hardwood floor need to be cleaned and the refinisher reapplied?

    • @BasicCoatings

Thanks for your inquiry! Hardwood flooring can be cleaned every day if desired with Squeaky Ready-to-Use Cleaner. As far as how often should floors be recoated, it really just depends on the look and wear of the floor. If it looks like it’s wearing, that’s a sign that it’s time to be proactive. Basic Coatings University has online courses on the many options available for maintaining or recoating hardwood flooring. Click here: www.basiccoatings.com/resources/training
