I was delighted to see this Pine Warbler actively foraging on my backyard peanut feeder one October morning. Pine Warblers are the only species of North American wood-warbler that regularly feeds on seeds, in addition to insects and berries, and occasionally visits bird feeders. It seemed happy to take bits of protein-rich peanuts, while the sunflower feeder was occupied by House Sparrows!
