I've met a lot of them, and for the most part they are not dangerous. The danger is in local criminals and criminals from nearby cities. That's just a fact.
I'm not endorsing sanctuary cities. In fact, given the dire situation at our southern border, I'm against them. As someone who has lived in Oakland and the Bay Area for many years, I speak from experience. Over the last 25 years or so I've been mugged about 7 times, one of those time it was at gun point. Never was I mugged by an illegal immigrant. It was always somebody from within this country (I don't want to go into too much detail). If you look at footage of crimes taking place, you will see the same thing. Most of the crimes are committed by men or boys who were born and raised here. Sure, some immigrants may commit crimes, but they are usually not the scary ones.

Glad to hear that Gov Newsom is trying to reduce the high crime rate in Oakland. So many of our laws bind the hands of shop owners, employees and police officers instead of binding the hands of the criminals. While I realize that violent crimes are more rampant throughout our country, it just seems like California's rules and laws are promoting even more crimes per capita.

Honestly you are not wrong… my wife was delivering tonight and all of the sudden midway through labor we just started hearing a ton of commotion and yelling in the hall. We all got scared or uneasy by what could be going on. It was clear the drama was caused by a group of black people. The nurse checked in case there was any danger and when she opened the door it was clear the wife or female was kicking a black man out of the hospital. Security got involved but as it was happening it made me think of why it was always “them” that cause such scenes without any remorse, empathy or shame for causing the very one else discomfort. I’ve met some good people from Africa that are no where like that. It’s the Afro Americans that have been here for generations in impoverished areas that struggle the most.

You have it backward. Crime creates the conditions for poverty. It keeps the good people inside their homes afraid to go out, drives away character-building jobs for the young kids in the city, and replaces it with a gang recruitment network filled with bad influences that should be in jail.
