I would love to see a doctor like Dr Millman. I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis. Both my family practice and ob/gyn doctor's only recommendation was to start Prolia. I talked about getting additional labs and my family doctor declined. I left my appointment feeling very frustrated.
I can imagine. You may want to see if there are any functional medicine or integrative doctors near you. You can use this link from the Institute of Functional Medicine - www.ifm.org/find-a-practitioner/. Dr, Millman's class has helped a lot of people who don't have access to functional medicine physicians. She explains how you can order the labs. All the links to her class and her interactive tool are in the show notes.
What a great video with so much detailed info, walking us through the progression of each case!! I did go through an online course that contained a component on testing to find root causes, but I found it difficult to find the right practitioner to implement the medical side of the program. It was also quite overwhelming. I wish I had known about, and invested in a program which not only provided the information on what type of testing was necessary, but also was supported by a practitioner who was capable of guiding the program. I now have a new functional practitioner who I'm hopeful can get me where I need to be. I so appreciate the tools that you both are providing and hope to put them to use. Thank you!
When I asked my PCP re: my hormones he told me I have NO testosterone because of my age & my gender!! I’d also been told I’m estrogen dominant so I stay away from all soy products. Is that correct? I also took Prolia but stopped because the side effect is to break down bone???

I’m in Canada, I’ve experienced some great difficulties getting a CTX test here. Is there a way I can get it through the US - I do have access to labs in Ohio.
Would love be be able to see Dr. Millman. I'm in Canada so it's difficult. If there's a way???? please let me know. I would like to take Maca to help keep my CTX down. Would anyone be able to tell me what strength I should take? I believe AOR makes a good brand. Thank you.
