Yes! It was a game changer for me when I was training a lot. I was afraid of big muscles, but learned that it doesn’t happen overnight, especially as a woman. You have to train HARD and with an intention to get big if you are gonna get big. Upper body exercises changed the game; I got stronger and more toned so fast.

Just a note on dynamic warm ups- they really don’t need to be super complicated, just take the movements that you’re gonna do in your main workout and just like, do them with lighter weights. Planning to barbell squat? Do some air squats and maybe a couple light sets to work up to the weight. Doing some cardio? Start with a light jog. Warming up just means preparing the body for the loads it’s about to receive, no better way to do that than just do the exact thing you’re about to do!

For me it’s the opposite I love training arms because I see results super fast but training legs is so sad because it’s like I’m making no progress at all 😅
control doesn't mean slow, control means that the weights have a steady path through the range of motion. do not confuse control with slow reps. Slow reps have a place but it has nothing to do with control.
Really don’t get why people think neglecting upper body or lower body or even any of your muscles is okay, like you want to be weak there? It has a function you know 🙄
I'm afraid to exercise my upper body as I am an inverted triangle so I fear getting too big in my upper body :/ I still train my arms but focus more on my legs and glutes
That can actually put strain on those parts of your body. When doing any weightlifting/training, we (women or anyone) need to lift in all muscle groups. You have to keep a balance. If you want strong glutes you need a strong core, for example. Some people, especially of they're overweight (me when I started) neglect their core because they figure they're not gonna have a 6 pack show through their tummy. But what happens is you develop back pain because your back muscles take over when working out or doing anything mundane, because your core is too weak. If you get back pain when you stand, walk, or do the dishes for too long... it's because you need to strengthen your core. Not for the looks, but for the balance. This is the same with any part of the body.

Compound moves are any exercises that use multiple muscle groups at the same time. Rather than working on just calf raises or bicep curls for example. So squats, burpees, or a squat with bicep curls coming back up. Controlling reps I means you take your time and make sure your form is on point.
