I've seen a lot of fidget quilts where people just sew various things onto the quilt and they are perfectly fine, but I'm kind of awed by how this ended up being a little work of art! It's beautiful as well as functional. You really thought about how things would look as well as how they would function. Just amazing!
Nora, Love that you’re demonstrating how to make a fidget quilt! After retiring from working with patients from all over the hospital, I’ve learned that while the fidget quilts are wonderful for keeping patients and residents “busy” or occupied when they’re under duress, I learned that some added stress can be inflicted on the care giver of those who watch them. There are some facilities that will not accept a fidget quilt unless everything is sewn down VERY securely-understood because if they have to worry about what happens after a patient has vomited, urinated etc and also tried to remove any of the fidgets with their teeth-you bet it needs to be totally secured down! I’ve made about 25 or more-just last year during Covid and it’s a great way to use ALL leftover fabrics from garments of yesteryear-ie Corduroys, wools, leathers, satins, nubby fabrics, furs, flannels etc-ANY tactile fabric will inspire more calmness by the way too and can be used all alone WITHOUT any figgies applied. Have fun with it! Not sure if I can attach a photo of one of mine for even more inspiration for them!
I really was hoping that you would put the fur on the sides and you did 😃🤩 loved your color combinations. It’s a very beautiful piece of art. Thank you for sharing it with us
I think you’re right that would have been better, in fact, doing anything other than I did with the fur would have been better, haha. Maybe it will grow on me over time.
Since this is a fidget quilt I don't think it matters whether you put the fur on the sides or the bottom. It looks great and will certainly serve the purpose. I really enjoy your videos and all your "quirky " ideas.
After 2 virtual sew dates today and sitting in my sewing room all day, I get to grab my hand quilting and watch you! Thanks for sharing your skills and time.
Nora, I really like how the trees came out with the lace and leaves. Just gorgeous in a kind of Victorian way. Here's my opinion. Ditch the fur. It is functional as something to touch, as it is a fidget quitl. However, for me it seems to detract from the overall pleasing asthetic of the trees, beautiful leaves, and beautiful lace. Maybe try the two pieces on top of the grey ultrasuede without the fur. I think it might look cool, but might look too dark. Just my opinions, you have fabulous taste and I am sure whatrever you come up with will be great!
@@mostlyquilts1386Ok, it's fabric in colors that I have seen you use so I figured I would offer. I think I am beginning to have too much fabric. I need to get busy sewing up some quilts for my family. Have a good night and a great weekend.
To light or me tone get out comfort zone needs contrast where is the purple to pull on the purple🍂💟. The fur like it it's the snow or artic Fox coat. 🥰Your style it reminds me of the process l put into practice with bits bibs l have accumulated over time.Rock On 🤙👍 Beautiful person looking good 😷😇🕊️🖖
Do you mean the 1st and 2nd videos? It was a while ago. If you go to the very end of this video, the other 2 pop up on the end screen and you can click on one. Or you can search “Mostly Quilt, Fidget” and the videos should come up.

Your fidget birch quilt blocks are fantastic. Love them.
I think the fur strips are wonderful. The range of textures are fantastic.

Fun process! The fur reminded me of snow. I would be inclined to sew a strip along the bottoms only.
I think you’re right that would have been better, in fact, doing anything other than I did with the fur would have been better, haha. Maybe it will grow on me over time.
Love the actual blocks! They are beautiful! Can’t wait to see what you decide to do for borders.
Your fidget blocks are beautiful pieces of art!!!!!

Beautiful! I love watching how you piece everything together. You’re very talented. Thank you for sharing ❤️😃🌺
Fur is great! Hope it stays. ;)

Ya, I think the furs gotta go. Thanks for watching Paula!
Norah, you’re amazing! I love to watch your creative process. These are so beautiful ❤️
Beautiful in a picture Frame
I like the fur in the middle, but you should have a different fabric for the outside,
It's not ruined !!
I like it just as you made it.
Thanks Romona!
@@mostlyquilts1386 you are welcome. I have some fabric that I think you would like. If you want it let me know and I will send it to you.
I appreciate your offer but I have more fabric than I can use. You are very generous.

When did you start the first and second

I would ditch the fur, but that’s just me.
I can’t disagree. I kind of hate the fur.
Hi Nora did you ever finish making your fidget quilt?
