- Just a quick demonstration of DJI's new virtual flight simulator that helps train you to fly their new FPV Drone. This new FPV drone is nothing like DJI has released in the past and flying it is quite different especially if you want to fly in full manual mode. It is recommended to spend some time on the simulator before your first flight with the DJI FPV drone to get a feel of how the drone will behave. In this video, I show you how to connect the goggles and remote control to your phone. This is a free app to download and you do not need to own the drone to use it. You can use virtual joysticks on your phone screen to control the drone. To download search for "DJI Virtual Flight" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

You have to own the Goggles ($569) to run this simulator with a remote. I wanted to use it as well with my iPhone or DJI smart controller...but nope you have to own the Goggles.

I plan to buy a DJI FPV soon, so these days I’m busy practicing in various simulators. I have also tried DJI Virtual FS, but it is very difficult to control the drone using a virtual controller. At times I have a feeling that I will never be able to control a drone, but now that I saw that you also pointed out that it is quite difficult to control a drone using a virtual controller (via display) ... Please tell me your impressions - How big is the difference between drone control using DJI controller and virtual controller? I'm a little worried about my abilities ... And another question; is there a possibility to define my own functions on the controller, because drone control defined by DJI is very illogical for me ...

I have a request, do you have the same problem as I do with the dji virtual flight application, i.e. that the roll is on the left stick instead of the right one as during actual drone flights? can it be changed?

I found out what was wrong with mine, I had to do to the fly app as if I was going to actually fry the drone. And it updated all softwares for all devices. Then I went back to the simulator app and everything worked fine.

Have you done a video using the flight sim and the motion controller with V2 goggles yet. Cannot seem to find. Great teaching video here. Is it ever possible for you to provide a narrative of the step wise functions needed to access the flight sim (so we can write out the narrative for reference in future?? Would be excellent help, as sometimes the details of the utube videos go by very fast. Is that a possibility to try??

My I-phone 11 can´t establish a connection with cable. Did you experince this during you shot the video?

great video! i just found out the flymore kit i got w/the motion controller will not be compatible w/the simulator. not happy with dji on that. is it worth buying the RC to be able to use the simulator which also sounds like i'll have better control when flying for real?

And you show me it can! Ill show them this video and suggest the get trained up on this stuff ... Comon DJI

I am using motion controller but can not switch to sport and manual mode on the virtual flight app. Just fly on normal mode.
Yes. I have only used the motion controller and there are things you CAN’T select with it.
Question ¿? I bought the dji goggles V2 and the fpv Dji 1st generation remote separately And I can’t bind my DJI V2 goggles with the app(virtual flight simulator) any thoughts? Is it possible that because I bought it separately it won’t work ?

one thing, you could connect the goggle with ipad or iphone with usb-c to usb-c cable, which works, but you need to make sure the goggle and controller are connected or initiated with "DJI fly" app

My controller 2 does not go solid green. It will just keep flashing. It only goes solid green when I turn in my Avata drone
I wish they could make this work with any DJI controller, especially for those of us who are Mac users and can't run the windows-based DJI Flight Simulator.

It definitely says it's ONLY available for iOS devices in the small print at the product page. I'm bummed about this as this simulator was actually a huge bonus for getting this drone. I'm seriously contemplating getting an iPad just to run this app as I'm not switching to an iPhone from Android. 😔

Im attempting to connect via the motion controller and choosing that option, all i keep getting is attempting to connect to avata in the bottom right corner? any ideas what i can try or what i may have done wrong....i have goggles 2 version
The app is only available for iOS devices. It's in the fine print at the bottom of the product page for the FPV Drone. That's a major bummer for sure.

@@danielbalver2028 It looks like purchasing an iOS device is the only way for Android users to be able to use the DJI Flight Simulator. I was thinking of just getting an iPad, but still can't bring myself to do it given the already steep price of the drone, extra battery combo, and the joystick controller. That's not to mention DJI Care Refresh or a carrying case for everything.
It's crazy that a company like DJI would not have any app they've developed on both platforms in 2021! I saw a new video today on CZcams by DroneXfactor where he mentions this exact issue and says that he uses another FPV flight simulator to prep him since he hadn't flown FPV before, but I forget the name. He said it did the job but again, it's not a DJI product and definitely didn't look as polished or like the experience we'd get with the DJI Flight Sim app.
Either way, it looks like us Android users will either have to shell out even more money for an iOS device (new or used) or compromise on the simulator experience, both of which are not ideal and kind of ridiculous.
@@bufootballa man I know it's pretty ridiculous. But luckily for me I do have a ipad that I can use so I will prob be doing it this route. Def gonna have to get the fresh care though and I am still waiting for the motion controller I have my drone but I couldn't seem to even get it connected so I am gonna try and relink everything separately.
I noticed on the dji fly app it doesn't have a option when connecting to the aircraft . A "fpv " button so I'm kinda wondering. If maybe they haven't updated it yet. When u go to your dji fly app does it pop up as a connect option for you ?
@@danielbalver2028 I ordered directly from DJI so it's currently enroute from China. Should be here on Tuesday, if I'm not mistaken. I'll let you know after I receive it. I currently fly a Mavic Air 2 almost daily, after upgrading from the Mini.
@@bufootballa oh nice . Yea I been flying the mavic pro since it came out I wanted to get j to fpv and wanted the gep rc. But never got it I needed this I finally got it connected. And am about to start simulator on my ipad.
@AIRPHOTOGRAPHY my controllers don't connect, both my regular one and my joystick. I can get past everything up unit connect to controllers and it says "unable to connect? Check whether the remote controller and the goggles are paired successfully

Hi all, Just bought my DJI FPV (expected to arrive next week). Meanwhile I tried to install the DJI Fly app on my phone. But it doesnt work. I am wondering if one can have it working on a normal laptop. Anyone knows if this works? Or is there another simulator for the laptop? Thanks in advance!

Hi Question for you I am having trouble connecting my goggles to my phone it keeps trying to connect to my phone I have allowed access nothing changes but on help page on the setup page on the simulator setup it says I have to go on the More option on my goggles but I do not have one what I am doing wrong?? I only have 4 options but on the help screen it shows 5??

So i got my avata yesterday. And i spend 2 hrs in normal and sport mode at the simulator.. so i turned it on manuall mode... why is my drone fly backwards... and up as i dont touch my controller? Is this a setting Problem? And will my drone do this also in real when i switch to the manuall mode fly for herself without touching the controller up and backwards? I dont find any answers at google or YT about this/my Problem.

Yes I have that controller as well and unfortunately it only works with the current FPV gear. However the original control it does work with apps like lift off on a PC I have used it on that many times

Bought an iPad simply to get the Virtual Flight sim installed. Better be prepared to get full acro with this baby!
Use velocidrone , or Liftoff...They have much better sims for learning to fly Acro.

Flight App on my iPhone. As seen in the video you connect the Goggles with that OTG connector with the iPhone.. But that OTG cable was not included in the Goggles package. So i bought a third party OTG connector, but the app
still can't connect with the goggles.... so do i really need the original DJI OTG connector or what is the problem?... any tips from

There is no DJI Virtual flight simulator for android. Basically if you don't have an apple device your flight simulator is the drone itself.

Can you use this with a Mavic Air 2 controller and an Ipad? I have not ordered the FPV drone yet.
You can use any Bluetooth game controller (i.e. Playstion or Xbox). Just need to add it in Settings on the iPad before opening the app. When you open the app choose smartphone control method.
If your talking about for the fpv drone itself than the answer is no, but if your trying to just use it as a controller for the app then yes
I think the simulator doesn't work properly anymore for iPhone after the update.. I got the DJI Avata and I can't practice with the goggles.. any suggestion? Thanks

Yes you can plug-in your iPhone to the side of the goggles with the provided OTG cable And get a view of the drone by using the DJI fly App

Just got my dji fpv drone package.. I want to practice with the simulator 1st before actually flying the drone for real and I do not want to activate the drone as I want to practice 1st and see if I want to get DJI refresh care insurance before flying for real as of course I cannot get DJI refresh care after activating it.. Before purchasing the drone I checked with staff in the online chat service and at 1st they said I could not use the simulator and controller before activating ..then they said they looked into it and said actually I can and ar that point when they said I could I was ready to purchase the drone package but now I have it I cannot use the virtual flight simulator or the controller with any other flight simulator like liftoff at all and on calling back DJI they say I need to activate it 1st which is really frustrating.. It just doesn't make sense that I need to activate everything before I can just use the controller and not use the drone itself.. Do you know of any way of using the remote controller with or without the goggles or using the screen on my phone only without activating the drone itself? Thank you

Okay maybe I'm just dumb, as a matter of fact I am sure I'm dumb. What app are you using for the fpv simulator. I have the dji fpv combo and an android phone. I also have the dji fly app. I find no simulator anywhere on that app.
But, this gives you digital video in... Why can't any other device use this signal? Like pc, it has to be connected through the av input.
Any Bluetooth controller should work as well, I used a Xbox elite series 2 controller and worked fine although the springy throttle is annoying
