Would have been interesting to know what failed on that control board.

Interesting yes, but not worth it my time when PCB price of this model is 10€ 👌

Another question would be, can you bypass the control board and just run it at full speed all the time?

Older model of this model had no PCB for regulation, just power switch. So motor is designed to handle it, but that circuit board cost 10€ and it protect from overvoltage that 50€ motor, so it is better to have that PCB there

@@proexservis Thanks for the reply's. The reason I had asked about the circuit board was that I have an inexpensive Bissell zing lightweight with a board and a possible issue with the transistor that has a decent sized heat sink on it. Solid cap, resistor and a diode, off of that it has the sliding variable resistor for for speed. Does have a fuse that tested good and what I found interesting testing the power cable and wind back unit which tested good but they are switching the neutral side which seems odd? With that the switch tested good. I did not put the full 120v direct yet to test the motor as I was not sure if it would handle it without the board. I will try that tonight. One day it worked and the next it did not without stress on the unit and it always is unplugged unless it is used. I will try the motor tonight. The whole vacuum costs 59$ delivered. I did buy one but figured I would see if I can have a second on hand. Thanks again.

@@proexservis Well tonight I bypassed the control board and a big zero. Pulled the motor and tested one lead to the cosponsoring brush and I did have continuity, tested the other and a zero; looked closer and the wire from the winding was broken from the terminal. The wire is protected by some fiberglass material that I will have to strip back and being a 4mm gap I will have to bridge it somehow and test. If you have a good way to do this let me know otherwise I will do my best. Thought the update might be help for some out there. Looks like a quality brushed motor with lots of life left. Something to be said about brushed motors, they last allot longer then most imagine.

@@curiosity2314 I don't have one. But good luck with it, i think you have more work with it than the whole vacuum cleaner cost.
Yes, some carbonbrush motors last a long time, but some have 2-3 years and are completely trashed.

@@proexservis That transistor looking thing was a BTA16-600B Medium Current Triac,Gate Trigger 16A, 600V,TO-220, looked it up and tested it and it did test good. There was a TVS diode you had to jump through all kinds of hoops to test and at this point I'm sure it is fine, the rest was simple to test. I will send the results once I have them. I was surprised that the brushes were replaceable, what would trash the motor? For me it's about making something that does not work, work. As a business it would be a no brainer to trash something that could be repaired. Units like this might be better given to charity organizations that refurbish? Update coming soon. 😀

It turns on and off on the handle must be a man taking it all apart to see what's wrong.
