If people knew the cost they would never agree to pay. That's why governments lie and obfuscate about the cost.

April heat gas $73.00 carbon tax and GST $81.00 delivery by ATCO $125.00.
April was mild. My carbon plan is when the tax doubles the cost of gas I will be burning anything that burns including tires.

Yup. The carbon dioxide emissions taxes are punitive and regressive. There are no reliable, affordable alternative energy sources currently. It's like flogging a dead horse.
The wind and sun might be free but the machinery needed to extract that energy are definitely not free nor green.
Mark Mills is an expert who explains issues with that... czcams.com/video/rgl2oDm_TuY/video.htmlsi=7fw38BgYiYV7Q-BJ

The question you fail to answer is that even if Canada was at net zero it would make no difference as many countries are doing nothing. The amount of green house gases that Canada contributes to the total global AMT it very negligible
So why should all Canadians suffer?
    Answer that questions you experts

If C02 was a problem, I would be concerned but it's not. So much energy and $ wasted in discussions and expensive constructions all based on a false premise. Sad.

Carbon dioxide has been called the gas of life. Dr Patrick Moore made an excellent presentation to the GWPF Global Warming Policy Foundation some years ago where he talks about carbon dioxide....

It’s all ready been made apparent that when we cut back and save on what we pay, the rates go up by the companies so they can recoup their losses. It’s a no win situation.

As long as it’s OTHER PEOPLE who go hungry, we can hardly expect our leaders to be concerned about the cost of net - zero.

Or we could just bqlnce a budget a nd payoff the debt, instead of creating debt to just sit around, "in case". Fighting problems becomes much easier if your country is doing well evonomocally.

What if the money went towards remediation instead?
Since there is no current need for remediation, the funds could be set aside to deal with them if they occur.
If the never occur, congratulations, you just paid off your national debt.
What none of this does is quantify the benefits for all of these costs. If Canada spends $160B, what sort of climate improvements (if any) should they expect?
No one has established the premise of whether there will be a benefit let alone quantifying to carbon reduction to support the conclusion that Canada reducing it's carbon output is useful.
If Canada gets to zero only to have India add 15X what Canada eliminated, what's the benefit?

I know we have to pay I just don’t believe this government has a clue about managing the economy. I don’t know anyone who receives a carbon tax rebate. All government just keeps getting bigger and spending like the money keeps rolling in. I am a tradesman who made more income 20-25 years ago then now. Or maybe I should say my money went further. I can’t afford to keep giving to a government that is unable to manage

only communist and/or socialist governments really believe that should have control of economy. Ask East Germany ,Poland, Lativia, Estonia how well that worked
