Most Chinese cars focus on packing the most features into a car but I much prefer GAC's approach - top notch quality with no need for gimmicky features. Just the essentials which matter more 👌
I agree. Not over the top in features but more on quality parts (Bosch suspensions, Denso cooling, 64% of its body is made of high tensile steel, etc) even the doors are solid. All the missing features you can always add after sales.

@scionrazer not to mention, Aisin transmissions (basically Toyota transmissions).
Many car reviewers like the new GS4, like Ulysses Ang of carguide ph, Isaac Atienza of goflatout ph, and Iverson of auto ph. The partnership w Toyota in China and the Aisin transmission are commendable.
I think the only drawback is the limited number of dealerships in the Phils (unlike Geely, Chery, MG, and Changan).
The seats of the GS4 can actually fold flat. The seat and the backrest can be separated. The seat should be moved forward first then the backrest can be folded flat.

The GAC GS4 is among the Most underrated Compact Crossover in the market. At 1.090M it's better than the Geely CoolRay or MG ZST.

Honestly, the analog gauges are better than some of the full digital gauges implemented in some vehicles, which just look tacky. However, it would have been better if the display between the gauges was a bit bigger and in color.

unlike its chinese rivals, GAC has many shared parts with toyota. The GS4 for instance, has an AISIN transmission. that says alot about its reliability.
For the price though, it's kind of behind the Kaicene CX70 whicg also has an Aisin Transmission and is built by Kaicene-Changan a partner of Ford. So if we're talking budget to performance it lags quite a bit.
@@mcconellmacapondag4286 that's an MPV and this is a crossover. They're for different people so you shouldn't compare them. This also has more power and waaaay better quality. Changan isn't really known for quality.

not just shared parts.. 50% of gac is owned by toyota.. gac also manufactures honda mitsu toyota and hino units...

i've driven the GS4 yesterday at the MIAS and among the cars on its segment that i've driven, the GS4 was the perfect ride for chill drive. the throttle is a little bit.... i guess low or deep? because it doesn't respond immediately but ironically, the brakes are so strong unlike the others that i've driven with 4 wheel disc brakes. i could barely feel the transmission shifting and i also love that it has a traditional analog display.
The transmission in manual mode is pretty responsive actually but using that feature is awkward. I'd still pick a Geely because of the NVH but for a no frills crossover with a lot of space, this is the one.
I just saw this kind of compaq SUV and it looks nice. By the way, the back seat can be folded flat. Lift up the seat and fold then it goes flat
when i found out that they aren't going to keep selling the gs4, i immediately sold my wigo to upgrade to this. best decision ever. no complaints whatsoever, got it with 2yrs free pms as well.

These compact crossovers have the width and sometimes the length of a good 7-seater. I think 7-seaters in general have more appeal to Filipinos since we love to take our extended families and friends to road trips. If they make these into 7-seaters where the third row fold flat, they'd be more appealing (thus the popularity of the Ertiga and other 7-seaters).
Sub-compact crossovers like the Raize are better off at 5 seats (too small).
On to the car, I've always loved how GAC tend to present their cars in a classier, more mature manner. Unlike most Chinese cars that give you too much tech and claddings, I think they focus more on what's important and "just right", not like a rainbow cake...but a well-baked pie. 😉

I don't know about GS4 but my GS5 instrument cluster shows tires pressure in "kPa" as default but I can change inside the settings to PSI.
How's the parts availability and after sales?
Conventional torque converter ba gamit nito sa Transmission or DCT ?

GAC are underrated cars. I own a GS3 and up to this point no complains. GS4 better tho

I own a GA4. no complaints either except for the useless nav system. (Still waiting for update on this) Only GA4 unit na gumagala sa Cebu 😁

Hello brother i have a gac gs4 2019 model my car standing in garage since one month bcz of no spare parts available gs4 trimpchi is a good fantastic car better then Toyota Rush but the only problem is the spare parts and a quality is not that good my car total kilometre is 230000 finish the engine and gear is good but the suspension front shockabouser and rear shock absorber bull joint link rod upper mount break disc front all badly finish i have to change all this spare but not available since 1 month one more big problem is the front break paad finish in just 40000 kilometre it's must be at list change 70000 k.m.and the rear tyre always finish from inside this is a problem from the rear suspension system there is some small things which have to be look at for gac thank you

Is this a gasoline fuel car?
The seats do fold flat Caco, you have to lift up the seat bottom and fold down the dossier, or back support (I saw this in other 2022 GAC GS4 reviews). I'm not a big fan of other SUV's/MPV's that try to cram alot of fancy electronic gadgets into their vehicles that no one needs. This GAC GS4 is not pretentious and is simply functional and just right. Relying on alot of cameras and fancy electronics is distracting and dangerous.
Analog Guages are dope.💯
No Android Auto, and no fog lights, faux double exhaust garnish. But has rear aircon vents, Apple CarPlay, 6 A/T, and 4-cylinders. All in all, it's not bad.
Android is censored in China. And since their biggest market is still their homeland China, and changing the GKUI of the infotainment system is very costly, a small market like the Philippines wouldn't be cost beneficial for them. Kudos to Chery though for putting AA in the T7Pro.

For starters GAC is making components for toyota, honda, isuzu and Mitsubishi, gac adapt the technology in these japanese manufacturers to produce a low maintenance and reliable car. Just so you know GAC won the Petron kalayaan cup 12 hour endurance race with GA4 sedan all stock...how about that!
If your looking for a crossover,.That is has an og vibe! Then this one the gs4 has alrdy got your back just like the tilting steering wheel,,..Of course for your desired convinience! So as well as the basic adjustments on the seats
And for me,.Yeah it lacks some fog lamps too! Because sa point of view ko para na din siyang my mga my dimples narin,,..Na malalaki besides of the cute smile too of the car

Does GAC ever sell units in the Philippines? They don't have data. Among Chinese car brands, they lag behind MG, Geely, Chery, and Maxus. I believe JAC is the least selling Chinese brand in the Philippines, they are planning to close all dealers and leave the country.
Stiff daw suspension. Di kasi inadjust from casa ang psi. Check niyo ibang reviews, stiff side ang suspension pero hindi matagtag. Gets niyo?

This car no lcd function because it's a low spec,of course we have lcd in the high spec in China. Philippines vehicle price is one of the most expensive in the world, can't imagine any car the same spec in China will cheper more than 200k.like the vios all 1.5L engine and the top of the line even only 750k.gac gs4 the highest variety is only 980k.😣
Obviously it will be cheaper in China because its made there. You have to consider taxes and other fees to import the car overseas
Front looks like a toyota rush and the back I would say mitsubishi outlander
GAC has worked with Mitsubishi, Honda and Toyota. Lots of inspiration to pick and choose from I guess hehe

Basing on the statement you mentioned. Sacrificing something for the basic needs at a price point they can reach. Most base models are with manual transmissions, why not review more of these vehicles in the market. #savethemanual!
Geely and MG gets all the hype and popularity, even moving up to the top 10 best selling brands while GAC, Changan, Chery, Maxus, and even long-timer Foton are ignored these days.
If GAC will bring the PHEV version of this GS4, it's curtain time for those other brands haha

I don’t understand you say that the suspension is on the stiffer side, but I think this car has IRS Individual Rear Suspension so it should be a rather smooth and comfortable ride. 🤔🤔

@@olijfcadiz4231 that's what I'm searching too. Apparently there's a GAC distributor in Casuntingan, Mandaue next to the Benelli motorcycles showroom. Haven't tried to visit yet. Might try next month.
