A lot of people don't realize this but in 01-02 season, MJ was averaging 24 points a game before he had a knee surgery, and 25 a game before busting his knee (he played 7 games on a busted knee). Even when everyone thought he was done for the season, MJ came back after the surgery, although his season was eventually cut short. Wizards were 26-20 up until the injury, which means they were on pace to win 47 games if MJ hadn't been sidelined. And jordan's game had been progressively improving up until that point: for the 10 games leading up to the injury, he averaged 29!! Even with the injury, wizards vastly improved with his presence. Before MJ, they posted a record of 19 wins. Washington won 37 games for both seasons Jordan was with them. And they won just 25 games after he was gone. Considering the injury in 02 gave MJ chronic knee problems, it's very reasonable to believe that Washington would've made the postseason both 02 and 03, given that they just missed it both seasons. Orlando Lewis point is don't exaggerate the numbers to make it sound better.. nobody says MJ dropped 70 on the Cavs, he had 69 which is still remarkable but it isn't 70. Besides, MJ was terrible that 2nd season, he refused to defer to the younger and more reliable Stackhouse and he shot career low percentages across the board to make sure he got his 20 ppg so in turn, a team projected to go 6th in the East went 10th. Today everyone remembers it positively somehow that the greatest winner in modern basketball history went out on the bottom shooting 20 fadeaway mid range shots per game and making 7 of them
+CBarber22. What MJ did at 38,39,and 40 is set records but becoming the oldest player to ever score 40 , and 50 points in a game. And also become the oldest player to average 20 at 40! Sure at that age he wasn't physically able to dominate on both ends of the floor to lead his team, but that still dont take away from what he did as a whole!!
Orlando Lewis that's all anyone remembers, is the problem. He was the leader, and he abused his power, he had Doug Collins by a leash. If he had averaged 15-7 taking smarter shots and gotten his teammates involved more he would've had 2 more playoff runs, which is much more impressive than getting 43 points at 40 years old on almost as many shots in a loss.

I liked Wizard, as a symbolic time in the NBA. It was the closest we would have got to know Jordan’s impact on the new faster, stronger more agile generation that was coming in. Maybe it was a tad to late in his career to see the full force of it, but watching him work gave you flash back on his 90s days
Doing all this @ 39 and 40 against cats almost half is age, who of course are faster, more athletic etc and yet a lot of yall still want to put Lebron over Jordan/not call him the G.O.A.T. etc, PLEASE. Michael is the greatest of all time period.
Man fuck off! Almost NO ONE puts Lebron above Jordan. Lebron is grea, and if he beats GS in game 7 he is probably top 5 ever, but hardly anyone says he is Jordan good. Its a very vocal minority
MJ bashers will always make comments about how MJ is this and MJ is that off the court. Most of the people who idolized this guy is idolizing him for his game and not for his personal traits. With greatness comes a very huge ego. And this guy has proven everyone who knows basketball HOW GREAT HE IS at the most exciting decade of he NBA. #GOAT
At least he backed that ego up and like you said, without the ego he wouldn't have been as great. It's part of who he was. He believed he was the best at all times and he was.
kobe has the same body structure as jordan my friend but damn jordans hand is huge he can rebound and hold the ball in the air single handedly in his prime..
Your 5000th like, from me :) What MJ in his entire career did was simply amazing. I mean look how he plays at this age. Even this late in his career, he somehow made it look easy.
Not outside of ESPN classic or NBATV. I actually saw it live. I even had a chance to see the Wizards play the Mavericks when they came to town. It was amazing. No one will ever bring the heart, mind, physical ability and huge hands to basketball that he brought.
Someone once said in a CZcams video that at age 40, MJ was better than 98% of the NBA. BULLSHIT! At age 40, he was STILL the best player in the league. The only reason he never got considered that was because the Wizards failed to meet all the expectations bestowed upon them, and the sad part is that those Wizards teams had great amount of potential to make the playoffs if not win the title.
I have to disagree with that man. As a Wizard, MJ was definitely not better than T-Mac, Kobe, Shaq, Duncan and KG who were all in their primes and were hands down better players. Dirk was also a better player. I left out A.I because he was injured those 2 seasons and shot terribly because of it, MJ had better seasons than A.I during those 2 years. MJ was a top 20 player in the league, but that's about it. That's still insanely good. For the 2002 season, he came 13th in the MVP race. Not even close to being the #1 player in the league. For the 2003 season Kobe had his most versatile season ever, T-Mac posted one of the best peak regular seasons in NBA history and Duncan "single-handedly" carried his team to championship like Hakeem did in 94.
That's equally disrespectful. You should play your best. But I don't see them letting him go. It's just not worth it. It will get in anyway. 2nd one didn't even have a foul
I thought #1 would of been one of fast break dunks from his last season with the wizards. I was so stunned when I see him dunk. he took off from within half of the post and just glided in with the slam
The fact that he never had any major knee injuries helped him play until he was 40. Other than his broken foot his second year in the league I do t think he ever had any other major injuries.
I think people look at his wizards years so backwards. At his age.... with soooo many miles on his legs.... to still be soooo good. The only reason people thought he was washed was because he was being compared to PRIME MICHAEL JORDAN. These years show you just how smart he was. To be stripped of a lot of his physical gifts yet still give you 20-30 at any time.... Unbelievable
+bee wallace lmao u idiots gonna kill me . Jordan didn't play for 20 years and didn't have 3 injuries that have ended a lot of careers . Shut your sorry asses up .
+JBarber3d so shaq dunking on david robinson in the all star game doesn't count either? You speak foolery my mans. Lol never heard someone say that in my life. You may as well say anyone who gets crossed in a all star game doesn't count either. Once you contest it, it counts.
+TheWickedyo Really? How many minutes/game did Kobe see on the bench his first few NBA seasons compared to Jordan being on the floor The WHOLE game at UNC. Kobe also wasnt off for 3 years like MJ was at the end of his career. THAT makes as much or more of a difference than injuries (which Jordan still had with Washington and was still able to do this)
Jordan retired 3 times and still has 6 rings, while leading the league in scoring 9 times. Defensive player of the year award. Gold Medalist. Lebron will pass Jordan in points but Mike missed a lot of time due to retirement bc of gambling. He also broke his ankle in his 2nd year. Jordan could have won 7 or 8 straight titles. Lebron is compared to Jordan all the time, the truth is they are completely different players. Jordan is a pure scoring machine and a dominant defender. Lebron has to “load up” his shot and set his feet. Jordan can shoot a turnaround fade away...Lebron makes is look difficult while Mike makes it look like art. Mike is the goat and always will be.
Cumulative stats mean nothing. Who the fuck cares about Karl Malone having more career points than MJ? He played more years, he'll have more points. Its all about performance within comparable time periods. Average is what matters. Otherwise, I might be considered a better sprinter than Bolt cause I've walked more distance overall.
@Paweł Adamowski Cumulative stats meant nothing not 5 years ago. I mean, if they meant anything, Jordan would have settled for playing with much less intensity, piling up points and bullshit assists, playing 19 years straight up until he was 42, getting his points' total to 50.000 which would have been unbreakable for all eternity. All this bullshit, cumulative stats, comparing players not at the same age but according to seasons played etc is very carefully designed propaganda to manufacture arguments to push the Lebrun agenda.

I liked Wizard, as a symbolic time in the NBA. It was the closest we would have got to know Jordan’s impact on the new faster, stronger more agile generation that was coming in. Maybe it was a tad to late in his career to see the full force of it, but watching him work gave you flash back on his 90s days
Nice countdown, my friend. I had no recollection of that Jermaine O'Neal challenge at #2. Appreciate the compilation.
Jordan was amazing at that age....38-40. Never seen anybody play as good as he did at that age
Lebron at age 38: 29ppg, 8rpg, 7apg on 50% shooting
Sergio load management sitting out games flopping tick tacky fouls stop this is when it was a man's game.
Crazy how quick he was at his age!
son watching mj highlights is like rocking to biggie or Tupac never to old
Doing all this @ 39 and 40 against cats almost half is age, who of course are faster, more athletic etc and yet a lot of yall still want to put Lebron over Jordan/not call him the G.O.A.T. etc, PLEASE. Michael is the greatest of all time period.
Son Goku technically 38 & 39, he turned 40 in February of his last season with less than 2 months left in the season
+CBarber22 did he or did he not play at 40??? Period...
+CBarber22 40 over 40 tho
Man fuck off! Almost NO ONE puts Lebron above Jordan. Lebron is grea, and if he beats GS in game 7 he is probably top 5 ever, but hardly anyone says he is Jordan good. Its a very vocal minority
But after this year and the next 5 years it will be Lebron surpassing him in every stat and maybe 10 straight finals who knows...
Always I watch something about MJ, I find out lots of motivation... I look this guy up.. Nice video!
This made me smile and the fun thing is even dunking away from home, he still gets cheer from the crowd.
I love #1 for the simple fact of him having a highlight on yet another top 10 player of all time
Jordan gets down the court in under 10 steps on a fast break...Fkg amazing!!!
Jordan’s reaction to this video:
“Why is the music so loud? Kids these days....”
wow Mj dunk on Duncan hahaha
Jesus it was an allstar game and wasnt really "on" duncan more like around duncan
Im sure in his prime he can dunk manute boll
@@sundeepgill2243 he still dunked on him, Duncan was close and he attempted to block the shot , there was a little contact
@Keith Nowak u would know how they taste right lol
I'm watching this in 2015 when Kobe is doing his farewell tour and Kobe is 37 and has 1 dunk all season.
MJ GOAT!!!
What a huge music! Classic. Great compilation 👌
love the oldschool beat. fits perfect.
What else you love?
Artist: Nas
Song: Nas is like
MJ bashers will always make comments about how MJ is this and MJ is that off the court. Most of the people who idolized this guy is idolizing him for his game and not for his personal traits. With greatness comes a very huge ego. And this guy has proven everyone who knows basketball HOW GREAT HE IS at the most exciting decade of he NBA. #GOAT
PREACH!!!
At least he backed that ego up and like you said, without the ego he wouldn't have been as great. It's part of who he was. He believed he was the best at all times and he was.
You can clearly see the deterioration of his vertical but his moves are still smooth as butter.
No one ever had or has the body structure of Michael Jordan. That's a gift from God.
- - u damn right boii
Kobe
@Dats a paddlin And more athletic and stronger
kobe has the same body structure as jordan my friend but damn jordans hand is huge he can rebound and hold the ball in the air single handedly in his prime..
Darko 1234 MJ was more athletic than Kobe tho
the best producer and the best baller! good vid
what a beast at that age
The music goes perfect with these highlights.
Your 5000th like, from me :)
What MJ in his entire career did was simply amazing.
I mean look how he plays at this age. Even this late in his career, he somehow made it look easy.
a nigga had directv league pass and saw most of the games and those are memories I will always cherish, watching the G.O.A.T on his last 2 go rounds
He's STILL the best player in the league.
he was not the best player in the league, he was better then most but not the best. Now his basketball iq was the best not his body.
at the time in 2001 to 2003
Who was the best in those years to you?
That nas is like is classic!!! Great touch bro💪💪
I love seeing MJ dunk with both hands. Wish he did it more often.
Chasing a 38 year old man... that eventually ending his fb play with a two handed slam!!! giving me chills up to this day🤗🤗🤗
Jordan is freakin' amazing
40 yrs playing better than others 20 players. Respect
Half man.....Half Amazing!!! The G.O.A.T!!!
It's 100% black Jesus Bro!
Kawhi Leonard in his prime be dunking like MJ in his 40s
Hahah so true
Prime kawhi is consider top 3 player, some people goes a far as think his the best player. And a 40 yr old mj plays like a prime kawhi
Dang Michael is a bull with wizard powers
nope a heart of a bull and a move of a wizard that is what some announcer said before he retired for good😉
My son asked me who's Michael Jordan any ways ,so I showed him lol,,,awesome video
You can tell most of the defenders just let the GOAT play when he drove to the rim, which means they respected him, not pitied him.
That's equally disrespectful. You should play your best. But I don't see them letting him go. It's just not worth it. It will get in anyway. 2nd one didn't even have a foul
Ghosst182 u mean they don’t wanna be in the poster like Duncan
Alot played tough defense against him, even in all star game, Marion played tough
ONLY THE G.O.A.T HIMSELF can fly above the rim nd beyond!🏀..BLESS U MJ!✊
oh my god, he posturized O' Niel!...damn imagine a PRIME jordan...
Jordan was so smooth he never looked old
1:17 the art of #7 is the steal. man so enjoyable every moment of him
Age 40? How can that age still play defense? Only the GOAT can do
I thought #1 would of been one of fast break dunks from his last season with the wizards. I was so stunned when I see him dunk. he took off from within half of the post and just glided in with the slam
MJ's steal on Shaq-Kobe is pricelessly timeless. Period.
wow I didnt see Jordan dunk much ask a wizard thanks for the highlights
Classic beat 100%
nice video
do you know the name of the beat?
+Stelan St nas is like. lol
+Bil Cozbi 100%
No se cuantas veces veo los vídeos de MJ y nunca me fastidio de verlos , es el mejor jugador sin duda .
Good players never grow older. Younger players envy them. Thanks MJ, with a healthy body you can still show your skills.
Imagine if he was in a decent to good team. GOAT
You will NEVER see another 40 year old that good again. GOAT
I'm a huge MJ fan (he's my clear GOAT) but Lebron going to still be a beast at 40 from the looks of things.
The fact that he never had any major knee injuries helped him play until he was 40. Other than his broken foot his second year in the league I do t think he ever had any other major injuries.
Even tho he didn’t get up as high there’s just something about how graceful he is in the air
elegant
jordan d;best player
Mike when he was with the Wizards would still get 40 a night in today's NBA. And probably could have played longer too, like king James. #mjgoat
Love to see Jermain oniel on his prime. Btw MJ stil got his ability for stealing the ball.
sucks getting old but he still had some bounce. He was way more durable than Kobe
+Scott Freebass #beats yess indeed.. Kobe is 37 and Jordan was 39-40.. GREATNESS
+bee wallace lmao u idiots gonna kill me . Jordan didn't play for 20 years and didn't have 3 injuries that have ended a lot of careers . Shut your sorry asses up .
+LiKeThEsHaDoW so we're supposed to feel sorry for a dumbass who can't take care of himself?...
Yes he was very more durable. Nothing against Kobe Bryant but yes Michael Jordan aged gracefully towards the end of his career 1000%
Booqr Doit don’t be disrespectful dumbass
Wish there was a heart reaction. Jordan doing his thing to Nas is Like? C’mon LOL. Dope video.
He was fast as hell at that age
ketchup junior(michael Jordan Flying)
loll didnt know mike dunnked on tim duncan
shotta Smoove AllStar game, doesn't count lol
+JBarber3d so shaq dunking on david robinson in the all star game doesn't count either? You speak foolery my mans. Lol never heard someone say that in my life. You may as well say anyone who gets crossed in a all star game doesn't count either. Once you contest it, it counts.
+CoolKidz loll I never knew😭😭😅
+HecticEthnic Not really, once massive salaries became standard, pretty much all defence was regarded as illegal defence among the players themselves
Duncan always plays defense so it happens to the best of them Kobe got LeBron also
I just FREAKING LOVES MY MJ MY FAVORITE PERIODT ❤🖤
YOU'RE THUMBNAIL IS THE PIC FROM THE MISSED DUNK FROM THE ALL STAR GAME 🤣🤣💀💀
mj at 39-40 is still better and more athletic than kobe at 37
Due to no major injuries and a tremendous body from Jordan
and kobe played much longer and put more miles on his body than jordan
+TheWickedyo Really? How many minutes/game did Kobe see on the bench his first few NBA seasons compared to Jordan being on the floor The WHOLE game at UNC. Kobe also wasnt off for 3 years like MJ was at the end of his career. THAT makes as much or more of a difference than injuries (which Jordan still had with Washington and was still able to do this)
MJ was flat out better than Kobe, so it doesn't even matter lol and LBJ is better than Bryant by a longshot.
daveslash marfil well to be fair Kobe completely destroyed his Achilles in his 17th season lol
When did MJ retire 3 times?
10 x scoring champion
At 40 still driving to the paint and dunk on these young bucks!!
its amazing
I wish kobe was this good right now...
Kobe is killing
Word, Kobe a few years younger right now and stinking up the court lol
He had major injuries. If his achilles were ok he would have had like 2-3 years more in him.
+yungmatt009 More like kobe is killing his team
MrUnstoppable275 38
nas is like
Excelent!!! Thank you for the video....👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌MJ 💍💍💍💍💍💍 the KING 👑of all the times for ever!!!...saludos from Guatemala..🇬🇹🇺🇸🇬🇹🇺🇸
Amazing
ppl say lebron better then Jordan ppl say Jordan hate lebron bla, bla, ppl got too realizeJordan a compatiler freak he can help his team win by his self and he can make his team win getting em involved
d Jones Proper grammar please. But LeBron James doesn't make his teammates better? 66 wins in his last season as a Cav before Miami and then they became a lottery team...
d Jones so as a wizard he was not superma. Cause both seasons.no playoffs.about 37 wins each season.so what happened.why a shitty record if jordanwas teaching thwm his knowledge.apparenty he waa not a good teacher as people thought.average teacher.and now since 2010 he is majority owner of hornets and no rings.cause they alsoget rings as im sure you know that.so az an owner he sucks real bad.sad to say.he should sell his 90 percent ownership quickly.not looking good on his resume as an owner.he should ask spurs owner or popovich the president and coach for many years why he has year after year good seasons.he just might learn a thing or 2.
d Jones u stupid
Old Man Jordan was STILL great! Michael Jordan is the GOAT. After Wilt Chamberlain.
Wilt couldn't play outside the paint .maybe the goat in the paint but Jordan dominated from one end of the floor to the other..
My Idol MJorddan Still Watching July092020
Love watching jordan highlights with nas music..2 goats!!
