Life saving video!! I'm fairly novice at soldering, and have to put back together a 200 yr old diamond ring..... broken in 3 places.. I think I'll rewatch this a few times, lol!

You can't even tell where you added the gold wire. Amazing job.

Once again, amazing work. I have such a hard time soldering gold with a torch flame and ended up giving in and bought a welder.lol I find it so much easier, precise and safe for the stones if you can't or don't want to take them out. I work with a lot of opal, so this is a must have for me.lol anyway, for someone as skilled as you, I don't think you need one. But they are fun If you ever decide you WANT one.haha. I do have to solder thicker pieces after a quick tack weld sometimes. But other than that so far it has fused everything together pretty good. I just noticed you had the ring in water to I'm guessing protect the stones? I have not tried to do that yet, but this is the second time I've seen someone do it. So I think I will give it a go. Tfs!

Yeah the water protects the stones, it can be fiddly sometimes but worth it.

Spent 2 years at a London academy for jewellery manufacture but we weren't taught to 'fix' items only make them, so I've had to learn a little myself
