    Bless you for not taking out the two failed attempts.... makes me feel much better at my own brain fog moments 👍🏻

    Wow! I am a novice restorer of a S2 125 - 1962. Just discovered your vids and have watched loads - today I had to remove the studs from the front hub. I'd looked at these a lot and decided to go shopping instead. But this video gave me a glimmer of hope that it might work - and work it did! Now have 4 bolts out of the hub and feeling very pleased with myself. Without your locking nut tip and a reminder about the left hand thread it would never have happened without tears. Keep up the good work! Now where can I find the link to a T-Shirt....👍

    That was really funny. Its like an USB Stick, you always need to try to stick it in 3 times :D

    The direction arrow only is there to indicate the direction that the forces are highest and applies to the rear tyre only.For the front it should point in the opposite direction as it has braking forces to deal with. You could have used your first or second mistake on the front and saved yourself some work lol. Some tyres are bidirectional and have arrows pointing both ways. Its something to do with the way the plies are laid out in the carcas.

      I'm just sifting through the comments on the channel and it looks like I missed yours. I agree 100% and that's the way I've been fitting them for the last couple of seasons.

    I'm hoping one of my local tyre shops can deal with ten inch wheels when I need to change tyres.
    I bought my rims with tyres fitted and I don't fancy the struggle if a machine can do the job.
    I have a new SIP rim waiting to be fitted to the new Rayspeed inboard disc due to be on sale soon.
    Maybe they will let you have one to revue?
    Have a good Christmas

      Af rayspeed have a poor internet presence and its going to be intreasting to see what sort of import tax gets inflicted on UK goods after the new year. Merry Christmas.

    A local moped shop must have a machine to mount them. 50CC also have tubeles rims.

  • @Barkastube
    @Barkastube Před 3 lety +1

    AFR don’t do split tubeless! They make a tubeless tire nearly identical to the SIP but without the need to remove stud. They also make a wide rim version!

    I have sip tubeless. If I want to change to bgm tubeless, do I have to change long sip wheel studs, or are sip and bgm tubless studs the same/interchangeable?

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  Před rokem +1

      You can can keep the sip studs but I highly recommend the casa studs because they don't have threads on the shoulder that eventually knacker the hub holes

    Hi Rob would you recommend Mitas Sava tyres then on SIP wheel rims got S 83s on now thinking of changing 🤔🤔

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  Před 3 lety +1

      I haven't actually tried them on the road 🤣 I've had heidenau the last few years. Mitas do have some racing heritage and have many followers. Nice round profile. I personaly find the S83's a bit square and not that good on corners.

    Hi Rob, what torque setting do you use on the nuts? Just about ready to fit a set of SIP tubeless rims on my LI S3

    • @kickbackgarage
      @kickbackgarage  Před 3 lety +1

      I don't torque rim nuts but I do use nordlock washers and simply tighten them down a couple of clips 🤷‍♂️

    • @krisward1015
      @krisward1015 Před 3 lety +1

      @@kickbackgarage ah great, cheers - have got the nordlock washers too so will give that a go. I’ve seen a few people put a small aligned dot on the nut and rim in Sharpy pen, just so it’s easy to see if the nut has moved, might do that too. Cheers for your help 👍

    • @kickbackgarage

      The sharpy idea comes from the motorcycle world and is a good one.

    Oi ya soap dodger !!!
    At 21.41 you skipped the hardest bit and jumped to inflating the tyre.
    I’ll bet there are some wicked outtakes where the swear words become multi lingual and stuff starts flying.

      Haha, I don't see which video answers are asked on 🤣 the casa/fa italia/bgm are my go to tubeless rims. They don't look as good as sips but are better imo.

    Although I can see the safety aspect of tubeless rims, I’ll still stick with the split rim for the time being as I don’t like swearing lots 😆and turning into a alcoholic 😂

      @@kickbackgarage have had two major blowouts, 1 rear which I saved when I was 17 on my Vespa ( don’t know how as it happened so quickly but being a speedway rider going into corners springs too mind). 2nd one was a front wheel blowout on same Vespa a year later while heading for an English National Rally. Had my friend on the back who flew over the top of me while I was flying over the handlebars in synchronised fashion. God must have been smiling on both of us as nothing broken on us bar being winded and we didn’t have body armour like we do wear today. Half an hour later, front wheel changed and just caught the ferry for Scotland 😁 great days indeed
