One of the great Tarja songs - of which there are a few.
Another with some of that Eastern suspended pentatonic sound. And some great Marco interventions too.
My favourite of all Tarja songs is Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan from Hartwall of course.
Last Sunday I saw Tarja and Marko singing together: dead to the world, wish i had an angel, over the hills an far away, the phantom of the opera, (dark star, dead promises, songs from Tarja's solo career) and left on mars (a new song they presented). and I swear it was very beautiful to see them together again in a show. a lot of power and a lot of nostalgia for the fans of the old Nightwish 😍 it was a dream that I thought would never happen but it came true!!

Tuomas knows Greek mythology and Odyssy tales. He decided to make a song. Marco acts as Odyssy who "tied his hands to the wheel" in order to resist the tempting call of Sirens "come to me" (Tarja)...cause the destiny of those sailors who obeyed the Siren call --- well not so lucky. At this time Nightwish had grown from a school and camp fire band up to global leader of this genre and rest is history.

Tarja and Marko are now together in South America. This is mainly Tarja's concert, but Marko opens the concert with his own acoustic set. Then Tarja sings her own songs. She is joined by Marko on joint songs from the NW repertoire (Wish I Had an Angel, Dead to the World), two songs that were also covered by NW (Phantom of the Opera, Over the Hills and Far Away ) and duets from her solo work (Dark Star, Dead Promises). Marko fits well with Tarja's own duets. I think Wish I Had an Angel is also amazing. I like this new version better than the original from End of an Era. czcams.com/video/qCAeOdOv0HI/video.html It's fan recording, so it is what it is. But a lot of fan videos from this tour have already been released.
Some people have a problem with the Dead to the World version from this tour, especially if they haven't heard Tarja sing in a long time, because originally this song was sung in a much higher voice register, whereas today Tarja mixes a high head voice and a lower chest voice at her live performances. I'm actually more used to Tarja's current style and her vocal experimentation than the old NW and just her operatic voice.
Tarja and Marko also presented a new song on this tour, it's called Left on the Mars. I think the author is mainly Marko, because of the style of music and lyrics, but they presented it as a collaboration. This song is expected to be released officially this month with music video.
Marko said that even though they had gotten over all the bad things from the past, he found that he was still missing the most important thing: a friend. And that's why he opened the subject before Tarja already in 2017 at Raskasta Joulua, where they sang the song Ave Maria together. He also apologized to her then. He also said that after Tarja's request reached him that they could sing Phantom of the Opera together last year, he immediately agreed and was excited about the idea. He also said that performing with her last year gave him new faith in his music and a new beginning. Tarja said that they are in regular contact after this performance.
BTW: I don't mind your jokes that much, even though I love Tarja. I also have sharp sense of humour. But I appreciate your knowledge of the band and your interest in it unlike many other reactors. It is better to make an open moderate joke than to pretend to love artists to please the audience. If you ever delve more into Tarja's solo work, get to know Tarja better and maybe like her more, I will also appreciate it more.

That brings up old Memories, an not Bad Ones at All. Sadly Tarja and Marco sound - different Today, but before all the Tarja Lovers cruzify me, let me just add, it was an all Time High of this Band for me personally, as they toured 2k3-to End of an Era, saw them thrice back Then, from an big 10k Hall to an nearly Club Enviroment. It was always mezmerising. And i thank Odin for sending Floor to reactivate my Love for Them, after this disgusting Parting with Tarja. Two total different Epoches, but always NW. The Siren, 10th Man Down, Stargazers and few others( i always think of Live, not Studio Versions) are unmatched interpreted by Tarja, She is my Fav in This Songs, an subjective Fanboy- i confess. Floor has and do take NW to another Level up, in many Means.

I dont miss Marco for Myself, i can hear His 10 Minutes of Lines if i want to in the Net, abaout Him as likeable Person well, i better dont voice that.
Actual NW is different in Tone, 3 of 5 Core Members of the early 2k Times are changed, so comparing is simply BS, and just an Field for Fanboy Trolls.

October 21,2005 then named Hartwell arena,Helsinki Finland 11,500 in attendance for Tarja's last night with the band.
And the start of tge freedom of writing, producing and singing you own music. They built a great foundation and sad Tarja built on that.
Now there is a video taken from a movie probably Pirates of the Carribean that has sirens luring men into the seas. Of course this song played throughout. There is no official video to my knowledge. Other then the DVD'S.
