- Today I'm going to show you the simplest method for reassembling the Hanayama Coaster puzzle.

The coaster puzzle is different to most other Hanayama puzzles because the main challenge isn't to disassemble it, it's to re-assemble the three pieces.
Another big difference is that the three pieces never truly separate from each other because they are interlinked.
The method for re-assembling the Coaster puzzle took me quite a while to simplify. There are plenty of ways to go about doing it, here you're going to see what I think is the easiest to explain and also the simplest to follow. The key is in the set up and having each piece in the positions described before making any attempt to put them back together.

I feel like the biggest problem with this puzzle is that you spend more time trying to hold the thing than you do trying to solve it

Omg THANK YOU! I've been working this thing for 5 days on and off and would have never gotten the darn thing back together. I felt like a complete imbecile. Well guessing maybe I still am considering I had to cheat to complete it. lol but still THANKS SO MUCH. 😊😊

I really like this puzzle. One question tho, is it normal for it to get loose. I've done this puzzle like 20 times and the links feel a bit looser than when I first got it.
Possibly. It's not the most secure puzzle when it's assembled.
The ring with the writing on it also has two tiny screws so if anything I'd think maybe that one could loosen up over time. The other two rings are solid so I don't think they'd change shape. It's also possible that after solving it so many times the grooves and nubs have worn down making the puzzle feel more loose. 😊🧩💖

Hmm.. that's a tough question... I really like the Enigma, Cylinder and the Baroq. There's probably a few more but those immediately spring to mind.

Brilliant. I swear, if you want to be a super pro, take a hint from the speed demons solving rubik's cubes. There's one video on youtube of some kid juggling 3 of them and solving them while they're resting in his hands for split-seconds at a time. Took him a few minutes, but damn... Point is, you can do better than 3 seconds. Hahaha. Anyway good vids, just checking out a bunch of hanayama vids on youtube and your channel is pretty good. Keep it up.

I figured step 1 and 2 but kept getting frustrated on 3. After solving it, i slowly deconstructed it and figured another way to solve it which i think is how you speed solved it.

First 2 that spring to mind are the Enigma and Cylinder. After that it's probably something like the Baroq or the Medal or the Dolce. They're all very nice puzzles.

i dont know why but im doing exactly as u are doing and mine does not lay flat on the labelled piece
Or an Under 5 Over 7 braided band ring, flat/2-dimensional knot, or "turkshead knot"
Or a 3 part 9 bight turkshead knot

I feel like this puzzle is more like a level 5 or something, couldn't get it together without this and I've done level 6 puzzles fairly easy
The number of possible positions with this one is pretty ridiculous, I found this one very hard as well.

RossDM - Puzzle Solving The one of the notches on the second step is inverted on the right side. Not sure if this particular company decided to make their own coaster Puzzle but everything else lines up
@@MPAzezal That's strange. I'd double check you've got each piece in the right position, there are a few sides of each piece that look very similar.
If it's not that, is it definitely from Hanayama/Huzzle?
RossDM - Puzzle Solving Ah found my problem. For the first ring I was putting the curve you put your fingers on to flip it at the top instead of to the right. Thank you for the replies though!

Take your time and make sure each set up position is perfect. Then just keep practising and you'll get there eventually.
Took me all of 2 seconds to disassemble it. At first I was looking at it trying to figure out how to separate them. Then I realized the puzzle was to reconnect them to the coaster.
You verbaly skipped the actual last step, Why?
I'm not sure which bit you mean? I say "all we need to do is fold that third piece over this way" for the last step

I want to see your real solve time... not one that you set up to fall into place... jangle it up all the way and solve it in 3 seconds then ill believe you. My top time.. blind.. is 20 seconds. If I set it up to be solved, like you did... then I can solve it in 2.
