Hi Frank, that’s cool you have a 2022 F3s I bet it’s really nice! Yeah I really like the running boards makes it a lot more comfortable to ride. The ones you buy are SO.. expensive! I couldn’t see myself spending that much money. Thanks for checking out the video!
Hey Norm, Thanks buddy, I like them better than store-bought too with the amount of money I saved. The ones you buy are over $500 that’s nuts! LOL Thanks for checking out the video bud.
Hi Joe thanks for your input on what type of videos you prefer. Our next ATV riding trip is coming up memorial weekend. Quad videos to follow, thanks for watching.
Nicely done KC! They look awesome buddy! The first design with the aluminum coming up to the front peg looked good too and would offer some protection from any rocks or road debris your tires might throw up. But I would only have done it this way if I could find a way to get that factory rubber top (that your foot rests on) back into place. The only downside to this design is that it would prohibit the front peg from folding up, but I don't see that as a deal breaker. Having said all this, it all depends on ascetics and personal preference on how it looks too. Despite the extra functionality, I might hate the look so much that I'd take it off and go with the ones you put on. Either way, you did an awesome job of fabricating the ones you made! Thanx for sharin' my friend!
Hey Buddy, I agree wanted to keep the factory rubber peg so I could use it as well as set my feet back in more of a upright riding position. Now that I’m done with all of this shop videos I can get onto some riding videos. LOL Thanks for checking out the video buddy greatly appreciated!
If you want a little more grip then you could look into skateboard tape. It’s the rough grip tape thats on skateboards. Floorboards look great. Good job. 👍
Looks great and you probably have enough aluminum left over to build the style of running boards you had designed which I personally would have done but then I may not have liked it. Anyway glad you are able to build your own stuff and have such an awesome shop to do projects in.
That is an awesome job you have done. I'm still paying for my Spyder so an awesome DIY set that looks cool like that would be awesome. Since you are not interested in making another set, can you give the dimensions or a template of yours? Your set definately would work for me. Again awesome job sir.
Hi Ronald Guy, The dimensions of the aluminum plate is 12“ x 6 1/4. Then of course I rounded off the edges to give them the shape. Hope that helps you out. Appreciate you checking out the video!
Outstanding job! You made this project look easy! The 85-dollar investment in the material is a whole lot cheaper than buying the floorboards from CanAm. I see Q wrote his thoughts on the rocks or debris flying out. I would hope this isn't the case, but if it is perhaps your 1st design Idea would prevent it. But the job came out great nonetheless. I hope you have a great weekend!
Hey Buddy, we’ve been on three rides and haven’t had any issues with stuff flying up, working out great. Yeah saving money is always good and I like building things too. Thanks for checking out the video much appreciated hope you have a great weekend!
Hi. So, are your boards permanently mounted and no being able to slide back and forth? How is that rear bolt on your boards bolted onto the frame? Any type of drilling into the frame needed? Thank you.
Hi Pete, no drilling required. They use the bolt where the lower brace is bolted on the frame. They are not adjustable. onto the. Hope that helps you out. Thanks for checking out the video.
Hi Philip, I bought the aluminum plate and the steel flat bar for the bracket at a place in Kansas City called metal by the foot. I cut the aluminum plate out with a jigsaw. Welded up the steel bracket myself. Hope that helps you out. Thanks for checking out the video.
Lovely piece of engineering, a joy to watch a craftsman at work!
Thanks for the kind words! Appreciate you checking out the video.
I like that!!!! I got to design my own. I have a 2022 F3s spyder. I really like how you did that Norm. Thank you for the video.

These turned out awesome! What did you use to cut the aluminum plates?
Hey mornin Rod, I used a jigsaw to cut them out.
It’s funny we both like building things eh?
Thanks for checking out the video!

WHERE DID YOU BUY THE SHEET ALUMINUM? DID YOU CUT THEM OUT ON A BAND SAW? WHERE WAS THE STEEL BRACKET MADE, AT A WELDING SHOP?

Would you make a set of floorboards?
Hi Todd Wouldn’t be interested in building another set, just don’t have the time. Thanks for checking out the video.
Hey just asking are you selling any of those to the public yet or it was just done for yourself just asking
Hey Nita, not building any to sell.
Too time consuming making them and I really don’t have the time. Thanks for checking out the video!
Are they Cost Effective?
Yes, was much cheaper building these rather than buying off the shelf. Thanks for checking out the video.
Ok but how much will you sell them for my friend. For I had to purchase them
@@ColPKing I don’t have time to build another set. Sorry.
Misunderstood me I have floor broads
