I always pack a tote bag from home. Like the ones you’d bring to the super market. So if my suitcase is too heavy at the end of my trip, then I can use the tote bag as a personal item and put some clothes or other heavier items in there to avoid going over the 50 pounds!!

Ok you can't take an iron or steamer on board BUT you can take a hair flat iron and mine's worked amazing for getting rid of wrinkles. 😍

As an advid cruiser, this applies to all cruises. The medical equipment inside your luggage though?! My wife have to constantly remind me to take that on as a carry on. You never think you will lose your luggage until you do. These are so incredibly legit tips. The first one threw me off for a bit but as you explained it, it made perfect sense. That flexibility of a luggage is a life savers for over packers. 💀 I packed about 2 weeks worth of clothes on my 4 day..
I always tell people overpack Instead of overpack. Our first cruise I underpaxked so bad and wore the same two shirts the whole time

@11:45 May I suggest to pack a disembarkation outfit in a vacuumed packing cube & put it in your carry-on before boarding on embarkation day. Thats a sure 🔥 way avoid this mistake.

All good tips. My wife and I pack an extra duffel bag, lay it flat in our luggage to be used strictly for dirty clothes. And since we fly Southwest we don’t get charged for extra luggage

I'm always cold so even when I'm not traveling I bring something for my arms. I don't have time for freezing or a tiny bit of chill.
Carry on. The first cruise our carry ons were two large duffles, CPap, Camera case. The second... The smallest rolling suitcase, one duffle, CPap, Camera case. It was A LOT easier rolling a duffel around on a suitcase than lugging them on our shoulders. Oh. We took 9 bags on our cruise last week. We were actually able to cut back by a bag. :-)
That poncho & umbrella is a great idea I keep them handy.
Definitely take care of your porters. I knew my bag was ridiculously heavy so I had to bless him.

Hi. Just a warning about overstuffing your airport carry-on: I traveled on American this month and the gate agents were telling us to make sure the suitcase expander was closed and they threatened to put big bags in the sizer. They were trying to make a lady check her bag and she wasn't having it!

I keep a a permanent poncho in my suitcase at all times, along with a hoodie or airplane throw blanket.

Hey Lynette and Stanley - greetings from RVA. I love the videos you put out. You should do a suggestion video of essential thing to bring on a cruise. For example, my wife and I purchase various types of liquor while in port(s) of call. Instead of packing it in our clothes and/or towels; Ive a BOTTLEWISE liquor transport carrier bag or I have an entire luggage that I purchased from TOTAL WINE and MORE that holds 10 bottles of wine or liquor in insulated containers.
Great video. I love being able to wash on the ship. I don't sleep much, so washing in the middle of the night keeps my packing super light!
