another episode of my 'perfect wardrobe' series, and this week i tell you which top 10 essentials you need in your closet right now.
these are the classic pieces that you'll have for life because of their quality and timelessness. but at the same time, basics can be so BORING, am i right ?
so i wanted to show you pieces that are timeless, simple, and essential - but fun, modern, and trendy nonetheless. ( simple + modern = recipe for scandinavian style )
now, i don't do capsule wardrobes, but with these 10 items, i'm quite set for a spring capsule wardrobe if i wanted one. i'll be wearing these babies all through spring and summer, and well beyond that.
i also show you how to mix and match these basic pieces in 6 different stylings to make your outfits look unique, modern, on trend, and current ( because we're not boring ! )

my favs were 2 and 6. I wish I didn’t feel so uncomfortable showing my legs. I mostly wear long skirts and only wear minis with tights. Your legs are so long and lovely. 💕 everything looks so good on you but I’m sure some of these outfits wouldn’t look so great on me. 😋

For me (I am 79) I love the 3rd one. I rate them 3,2 5, 6, 4, 1. I would wear the sweatshirt outfit w. pale grey linen capris.On you they are all fabulous.
I loved the video, Jenny, but I would love to see you style somebody outside your body type. Like I am nowhere near fat, but rather petite / curvy type. And if I put on a mini, my legs would make me look like trashy and exposed, and this is just one example. Large jacket? I would look like a child dressed up in mom's clothes. Shirts like that? Baggy here and weirdly tight there, if you have round, larger breasts.
Your etheral natural silhouette is really the first "essential" here and gives you much more possibilities to shape it to your liking than for a person who is already sculpted, and as you are super talented when it comes to styling, I would love to see you try to glam up somebody in your style, but be more inclusive when it comes to body types. And I know you can't have it all but I love your content and this is just a suggestion, I think we all non-Jennys would appreciate it! 💜
agreed, I am 152 cm (5') so I can't do this many oversized pieces, even though I adore it.
The answer to your fit problem, as with all fit problems, is tailoring. You should always shop to fit the largest part of your body. If the rest doesn't fit, a tailor can take care of it for you. You're small, so you ought to be able to go up a size up.
Just look at Kim K. If you know what you're doing with fit and proportion on your own body, then you can wear just about anything. I'm sure there are petite influencers who have better advice for you than any tall, slim girl.
I've always felt this way as well. Love Jenny's style but would love to see how that translates to other body shapes. Surely fashionable dressing shouldn't be limited to the thin and tall!
So basically just borrow clothes from your boyfriend lol!

This was a great video Jenny! The only thing is, I feel like a lot of these baggy, androgynous style only look good on tall girls with slim, super model bodies like you :( As a curvier girl I just don't think most of these looks would be very flattering on me at all :/ Maybe some day you can make a video with style advice for different body types? (I know hypothetically we should be able to wear whatever we want- but realistically, I think we all want to wear outfits that work to enhance the bodies we have).

(short girl over here, who would love to wear this androgynous, baggy kind of clothes and actually look good in it) I think you should look for someone who has your bodytype and dresses how you would like to dress and take advice from them. Someone with a curvier body would know best how to make this style look good on them.

The pieces she chose are just more unusual alternative for really basic and timeless pieces. A blazer, a white shirt, a black shirt, a LBD, a big bag, etc. These are pretty much the most basic and versatile pieces of clothing you can get. Just find some that suit your style

I'm a couple days late to this video but JENNY YOU LOOK SO GORGEOUS AND ELEGANT you always do but it hit me extra this go around. I enjoy your styling videos because even when something isn't "my style", there's always a way to apply it to my own closet. I'm a slim gal with no curves and I tend to like boxy dressing, except for large shouldered things... I can't get the hang of those. My shoulders are very narrow and while that should mean I can do bigger shouldered things, I can't get over how it makes me look proportioned differently. Maybe also because unlike your miles of legs I am a long torso, short-legged girl. Thank you as always for the informative, fun, creative videos
