Just something about the juxtaposition of the professional decorum Isla uses set against the play make-up in addition to the layered sounds that take me back to childhood when role playing was taken so seriously by us children. 😊 It hits me in the nostalgia heart and ASMR tingles perfectly. This is the first video of yours that I've ever watched and I just wanted to say that this kinda healed a bit of my inner wounds. When I was a child, I was put into a school pageant as a last resort, because the girls we usually sent didn't want to go, and even my teachers and male partner didn't think I'd be a good fit. It was at a stage of my life when I was taught that since I was 'the smart kid', I wouldn't fare well in a 'beauty' pageant (stupid take honestly, but I didn't want to win, just to try it out). The preliminaries and talent portions were super fun, but when it came to finals night I was bawling in the makeup booth because I felt so uncomfortable.
My hair and makeup artist gave me extensions even though I told them I didn't want to have super long hair because I loved my slightly shorter hair, and asked if they could make my eyes pop with the makeup because that was the only feature of my face I was proud of. But when I saw myself in the mirror, I was heavily contoured into an unrecognizable face, and my eyes were so glammed up in a way that made them look like they sunk into my face. Looking back at the photos, I looked like I was in my 20s when I was still a child. Now that I'm older, I understand more about hair volume and having to apply thicker makeup so the audience and camera could see my face, but they never explained it to me, only that they knew best.
And then I come across this video, which deals with a lot of the same beats but in a way that made me feel so safe and comfy. Asking if things are okay before committing to the look, explaining why doing certain things might be good instead of just going 'trust me I know what I'm doing'. If I could turn back time, I'd wish younger me had YOU for hair and makeup 😭😭. Then I probably would've had a lot more fun! But anyways, this was such a lovely listen for me, and I might've cried a little bit. Deffo checking out your other stuff, I love your work already! 💗🌷

It was quite emotional to read ❤️ it’s so sad how these memories can stick with us for so long and still have such an impact 😣 my mom tried to get me into pageants when I was a child but I just cried the whole time so she would have to collect me!!

What if you did another “map” video but this time explaining all the different amenities and services offered at an all inclusive resort or something? I think you’d be so good at explaining how it all works and what we have access to 😊 that description part is always my favourite when I’ve seen other ASMRtists do checkin videos

I honestly prefer the old mic set up, hearing you walk around us and the sound being a bit more dynamic added to the tingles for me. This is nice too but there was just something about the old setup ❤️❤️
Ahh I kind of agree!! When I edit it back I find that this just hones in on my voice and not much else, so it doesn’t feel as realistic (to me anyway!). I’ve actually got a newer mic now and I’m hoping that creates a bit more of an ambient sound!! Thank you for watching and giving feedback! ❤❤❤
