Very nice video review. Just an added update for those that may not know. Most of Mazda's 2018 vehicles now have Apple Car Play. I purchased my 2018 CX 5 Touring this past week and the salesman informed me that Apple Car Play will be available for the CX 5 later this year. Guess that means sometime in December. He suggested that I wait until a black Friday sale offer before buying, to save a little since these things cost upwards of $450.
According to the service tech I talked to yesterday, they are getting andoid auto and crApple car play this year. In the meantime, if you're tech savvy, you can put either one of them on your car with a USB port and couple of Linux commands :)

hypnotechno CarPlay is coming this summer to the Mazda6. Then around the fall if you have the current Mazda infotainment system you can have the dealer do an update that will add it you’re vehicle
I'm looking at both cx5 and mazda3. I love the interior, looks and space from the cx5. However I like the mazda3 handles better and engine. How much of a difference is handling between the two cars? Like how significant is it? That's one of my deciding factors How much more space is in cx5 vs mazda3? Especially in the hatches of both length (depth) wise? I care more of how long the cargo area is from door to rear seat How much slower is it vs mazda3? I feel like the engine combo isn't too good and especially when I drive this in 5-10 years, which do you think will be better power wise? Also which would you pick and why?
So my opinion the cx-5 handles better just because the awd stability. But the Mazda3 ia also very good! The cx-5 has more body roll of course but the g vectoring system feels more noticeable and you feel it working better with cx5. The cx-5 hands down has more space for both passenger and and cargo space. The mazda3 with the 2.5 feels pretty fast and the cx5 feels significantly slower. But it Mazda puts that 2.0t the the cx5 game over! I think if you want space get the cx5 if you want something feeling powerful get the 3. I personally that price wise the cx5 is a way better deal.
If it were my money I would get the cx-5. Just because I live in Oregon and it's nice to have awd. And at 33k for a gt and what you get for the price it's a steal!
G Ryders what if you were like 18? Would your opinion still change? How much body roll will the cx5 have? I'm test driving soon but want to have a sense of what to expect. Wow I saw the Washington plates and was expecting you to be around Seattle, I live in Portland too.
Yes my opinion would change. I'm 25 and I still want a fun car. I have mk6 gti. I think that the cx5 is a more "adult" car and the 3 is more fun. The cx5 dont really that much body roll but it's much more than the 3 has. The 3 also has paddle shifters of you are into those. I think based on initial drive you are going to like the 3 more and the cx5 you have drive it hard to see how fun it is.
lol. The different way to do that, is don't eat anything, much less french fries, IN YOUR CAR. No way I'm letting anyone with any kind of grease operate that knob.
Check inside rear armrest, you should find there 2 usb ports 2.1A.
I traded my 2008 CX7 for a 2018 CX7 GT last week. The CX7 was amazing for 12 years. The CX5 I got in its place blows my mind. I love it.

This model didn't have the any option packages. This was the base grand touring awd.
Head Up display is available with the premium 1 package

I have the 2017 GT....it DOES NOT get 24 mpg in the city! I struggle to get to 22, which I am disappointed with. :-(
Driving habbits. We get 26 mpg with ours in the city.

if you mean does this one have the power folding mirrors the answer is no that came on the 2019‘s and above. And I don’t think it has an eco mode.

The old one is taller they made the new more sleek and lower to make it look more aggressive. I like them both though.
I own this car in the top trim and tbh it just does not handle as well as everyone says... It feels numb to me.

This is a GT but heated steering wheel is not standard. It’s in the GT premium package.
