Isn't "dour" pronounced more like "dow-er"?
Like rhyming with "sour"

i know this was over half a decade ago but when you run it through a pronunciation bot that's how it pronounces it
Dour can also be pronounced "dauer", which I think was the intended pronunciation here. It makes the title of the album a play on sour candy.

I really liked this album, a whole lot. Before listening to this I really just was not a fan of rap/hip hop in the slightest having been raised primarily on rock and metal, but Billy's work is really interesting to listen to. Anyone got some suggestions for other similar artists to Billy Woods?
Can't think of what to recommend but Action Bronson - Rare Chandeliers, there are some good guitar instrumentals I can recommend, but his actual subject matter is cliche. I don't know shit about metal/rock, so thats the best I can give

since this album entirety prod by blockhead, it really reminds me aesop rock's labor days. that's some depressing album if you ask, give it a shot.
Adhitthana I think you should also check out Armand Hammer, it's a duo consisting of Billy Woods himself and Elucid. And there are a few other underground rapper who have a similar style that you might dig like Aesop Rock, MF Doom, Cannibal Ox, Deltron 3030
Billy Woods is a very talented composer of albums
i loved history will absolve me, one of my favourite lp's from last year, but i feel that dour candy is taking a slightly different approach to what billy woods would regularly do. it sounds different, but not in a bad way at all. people that say that this was a terrible album aren't looking in deeply enough to the substance that his lyrics and sounds produce.

History Will Absolve Me was hands down my favorite album of 2012 .
So I'm not expecting this album to be better in anyway . Witch is really nice because normally I kinda over hype new albums & am left feeling a bit bummed after I listen to them .
But even if this album is half as good , I'm gonna be happy as hell =)

That's what i'm thinking. Everyone's talking so much trash on it but not giving any reasons why, i'm just curious as to what people have against it. I mean lyrically it's nothing special but i think most of the beats make up for that and it's a consistent album
