우울증 환자가 열정이 어디있냐고 물을 수도 있겠지만, 삶과 죽음의 기로에서 매번 갈등하며 열정적으로 존재의의를 찾아가는 한 사람의 성장기같은 해석이에요

여태까지 3번만 들었던 편협함을 반성합니다...
오케스트라 단원들의 표정에서 이미 저세상 박자와 테크닉이라는 것이 느껴짐. 이런 박자로 연주 처음해본 저들의 묘한 긴장감이 더해 임현정의 연주로 라흐마니노프의 천재성을 확실히 엿봤다.
라흐마니노프 피아노 협주곡 중에서 한 때 제일 좋아했던 곡인데. 역시 기대를 저버리지 않네요. 두 번째 현졍씨의 곡 감상입니다. 그 개성 그대로 쭉 나가신다면 진짜 좋겠습니다. 완벽하게 즐기면서 연주를 하시는 걸 보니 참 행복해 보입니다.

But this girl has a special talent there's no denying
I've shuffled through numerous recordings of this concerto (Lisitsa's, Ashkenazy's, Trpceski's, and countless others on CZcams) and only few can come close to capturing the kind of excitement that HJ relays through her recordings. Definitely makes me sit up in my chair and listen closely.
I couldn't help but notice that on close-ups the two violinist just behind her seemed amused by her interpretation. Their facial and body language gives me the impression they're laughing up the sleeves at her innovations. I love her playing and I am very receptive to the way she plays this beautiful piece that I've heard a hundred times, but never like this.
I like HJ Lim.💛💛💛
I heard other performances of this concerto, and I think HJ Lim's way of playing is above the other interpretations concerning the second movement; she understood the Jazzy colours of the beginning of this movement and gives a total freedom to the rythmus (much more than a simple rubato), away from the classical rules of propriety.
She also benefits a great recording.
And her flying fist at 9:30 ! :-) I can totally feel the emotion. Huge professionalism.

13:24 I want to be that melody, to live in that melody and to die there. It's more real than anything else I've heard.
This is might be my favorite section of all rachmaninoff compositions. The culmination for me peaks at 16:44
I feel like melting into oblivion when I hear it. I first heard it over 30 years ago and it is still growing on me.

1번은 한번도 들어본적이 없었는데 갑자기 듣고싶어서 들어봐요 도입부 듣고 갈비뼈까지 소름 돋았네요 ㄷㄷ

러시아 작곡가의 성향이 우리 동양인하고 맞아서 그런지 임현정의 연주는 정말 무어랄까^^
말로는 표현하기 힘든 어여쁜 새섹시의 수즙음과 열정^^
러시아 작곡가의 3대 노가다곡(라흐마니노프,프로코피에프,차이코프스키 피아노 콘첼토)을 연주하는걸 보면 더욱 만주 벌판이 생각 나내요^^
Phenomenal...Fabulous...Mesmerizing... Breathtaking.... how could I describe this playing of HJ Lim without using superlatives, because she is the one to play the very superlatives! The second part she playes very musical. Bravo!

Listen to the cadenza 9:30 - 11:45 !! It is like a raging roaring storm and thunder and lightning. Everybody finally has to recognize that HJ Lim is really incredibly ingenious.

아쉬운건 솔직히 라흐의 본인의 공식적인 작품넘버 1번이 라흐피협1번인데 기념비적인 작품치곤 대중성이 낮아 등안시하는게 안타까웠음..
Fritz Maisenbacher You are not exaggerating one bit! Such bravura - nearly spilt my drink at the starting octaves! I applaud all the risk-taking. Now I am glad to see there is Rach 3 on the list - here's hoping it's the big cadenza.
She is amazing and she just keeps getting better and better every time I see her play. She wills herself to play at a level she imagines herself to be at - and she reaches until she gets there. Amazing. World class talent and dedication.

This video was my introduction to HJ about 5 years ago, was looking for a good performance of Rach 1. When I saw her walk out on stage "in character" (she looked fired up) I knew it was going to be good. Still love this performance. She's a genius and one of the greats of our time.

early time was not well accepted, but nowadays reassessment conserning on no.1 has been much increaed through hj Lim and others.its very happy to virtuoso Rach and he might be thankful to Lim showing sublimity touch.
I'm so glad I discovered this pianist, her playing is truly lively. Going to see her play Bach's Preludes at the GTP next month.

Rachmaninoff asked Horowitz to play this Concerto many times, but Horowitz never did. I believe this is the dream performance Rachmaninoff had in mind. The cadenza is even more electrifying than the composers own performance.

Ms. Lim is a force of nature...like a hurricane or tsunami. She is a consummate artist. I wonder if she is aware of just how sensual a woman she is on top of her artistry. One can derive just as much pleasure out of her body language and gestures as they can listening to the playing.

Yes, that sounds like the premiere of a first ambitious work of someone who would give everything to become a famous Solist. It has the force which the Young Rachmaninoff could have brought up in the premiere, which he played himself.

Herr Maisenbacher pretty much covered Ms. Lim's style. For me, I enjoy more...turning my head from the Video. There are times this interpretation sounds cartoonish...then brilliant. Orientals (at least in Middle/High School) have a unique way of "mentally digitizing" LITERALLY everything they think, play & write. The Koreans and Chinese are ahead of the (others).
This performance of a Rachmaninoff is a great example.
Roy Rogers I am more satisfied with digitizing than the sterilized boring way of playing Rachmaninov today .
And I am not really sure that Mrs. Lim is not feeling even more than you are able to .
Believe it or not, Ms Lim comes in at nearly exactly the same duration as Berezovsky...at roughly 24:07. Bravura performances from both pianists.
