This is actually one of the best filters I've ever used. I have three of them. The short hose for draining is only to drain the filter itself.
Nope it’s actually for the vacuum tool nobody uses anymore
Your water clarity before install and after a month later proves how good the filter is.
swear this is an addictive hobby 😂
Love the start of the video, the wife “what is that??? OMGGG!” lol
Anyman willing to dance like that on camera deserves 10k likes :D
🤣
This was informative and hilarious! Thx IFG!
I had to fx6s and they worked perfectly! Best filters i ever had.
Me too! Love them!
And that'd a cost you 500pound you'd a been better off buying one eheim classic 2262 that costs 300 new and it holds more media then both then fx6s saving you 200 pound that you couid do anything else with the tank or a night out the eheims last 15_20 even 30years you'll be lucky if a fluval I'll last 8
@@AquaNoxLTD in america fluvals arent that expensive compared to other canister filters. Compared to the one I was looking at, the fluval put out 700 gallons per hour compared to 407 per hour for only 60 dollars more.
I’m going on nearly 15 years non stop on my fx5 on a turtle tank and runs as good today as the day I bought it.
@@mathmanchris666
Fluval's only pump about a little over 500 gph when filled with media.
Solid review 💯 You’re absolutely right about the Sunsun. It took some time getting mine to start running.
I had a fx5 and a 560 litre 6 ft tank and it worked well. Great content as always
Other than the fact that the drain valve piece is weak, that water change feature is awesome. Forget the bucket picture. Get an adapter piece for a garden hose you probably already have and run it to wherever you want to drain. That has cut my drain time and water use way down versus a typical gravel vacuum. As a bonus, you're also flushing out the filter which cuts down on maintenance.
That’s… that’s actually really smart, nice advice
Dude, love your videos!! You first got me when I saw you dancing...or whatever the hell you were doing. lol Keep up the great info!!!!
🤣
Congratulations a good filter already use for a long time and without problems, more ceramicas, A hug from PORTUGAL
🇺🇸🇵🇹
I looking at one for my 220. Thanks, I loved your review. It cut through the marketing hype to the real benefits and features. Things like a longer hose to dump water straight into a toilet isn't a big deal, but its nice to know that's what you will need going in. Now I know this is the right filter for me, and I won't be disappointed when I have to adjust the media.
Thanks for the video. I just got one as part of an aquarium kit. A trivial question - any idea what the two small black clips are for on the top of the lid? The ones in the elongated oval in front of the FX6 label? Thanks
You can put things on it. like hoses, or the new uvc clarifier.
Good review and you made me laugh, thanks.
I started laughing when you began doing the calculations... On point, my friend👍
Oh... I have the same watch too. LMAO no joke
One of the best filters out there. I see nothing wrong with the marketing here. In fact some of the things made you shammed are key selling points for me.
I wanted a filter with a high flow rate, and that's what really matters to me. I have an empty shell of a filter(no filtration). So what I was looking was just straight volume it pumps.
Then because I have a very long tank tho multidirectional return really helped me fine tune the surface movement to keep all the plants to one side of the tank, rather than doing loops and getting yeeted everytime they came up on the return... Trust me, I spent hours trying to fine tune the circulation with multiple different types of pumps/returns nozles/spray bars. In the end this stock part was actually the best.
So what do y'all think about the marineland c360? Worth the 130 bucks? Thinking about trying it instead of the Fluval because the Fluval fx6 is like 350 bucks
I just started running canister filters about 3 months now.
the filter media doesn’t hinder water flow that much, you’re right the length that the water travels up the hose plays a lot into flow rates.
I have thought about building a rack for my filters,
I run Sunsun HW 704B filters and so far my tanks are crystal clear gravel stays clean and the fish have beautiful colors , I run 2 of them on each tank a 135 and a 150 , I haven’t experienced the issues with leaking or get[ting them started .
I liked how you did this video. Thank you
Would you say Sunsun over Fluval?
What are those two clips for on the top of the cover for?
Wow bro u mad strong, lifting that fx with one hand lol. U deserve a Razzie for that acting lol
You’re joking right? You can’t carry an FX6 with one arm? You’re definitely joking lmao!!
Nice fish. And good review of the fx6. Nice work.
Thanks for that, love the honesty. You think for the price those extra bells and whistles would be spectacular. The only thing I wish you added to the video is whether or not you think the price is worth what you get. I k ow you said you wouldn’t buy it if you didn’t believe in it, but price is a big deal to most of us. But thanks for the great video. Love the dance moves at the beginning 😂
Got ya self a new sub dude
By far the best filter I have ever used over here in Australia
I'm just curious if it's actually a good filter or not because I was looking to get one of these for my 125 turtle cichlid tank
They are VERY good. Best filter I've ever had bar none. Mine have been up and running 24/7 for 2.5 years already!
Some smooth moves lol 😂
🤣
Hahaha sounds about right! Great video 👍👍
Man this is so true, I watched 7 reviews or "demos" where the cnts didn't event turn it on. And turned comments off.
Good work
Great video once again. U should do more parody’s . SALUTE @IFG
Ahahaha you, amazing bro))))
I go with whatever the gph they say they are and cut the number in half.
I agree completely on the GPH & run two filter for more bio capacity..
The music is killing it 🤣🙏🤣🙏🤣
Whats name of that watch? Been searching for it ages
S Force. The new collection just dropped dude. Go check it out.
Ehh the 3 fx6's i have do a good job for me. I did notice i had to add more filtration on taller tanks because it couldn't hit the range i need
This is the way all products are marketed. Nothing new everyone tries to make their products look better than they are. I have Fluval filters and they are great!
Gang gang always in the building 😎
I add Marineland bio balls and lots of them in place of the media it comes with. I leave enough room for them to move around and self clean like using K1. Doing this also give you a little extra flow. The dirtier this filter gets the better it works. Don't have to worry about polishing pads clogging up just give it time.
First time viewer. Good video. I like when the exaggerations of companies gets shown. Hey I made a simple water changer for my 100 gallon that cost me very little and I never have to lift a finger to do it. It does it all by itself. The parts were easy to get. Most expensive part was a mixing valve to auto adjust the water temp. It would need modified for chlorinated water. I am on a well in the country so it makes it very easy. I have it set to do a water change on Wednesday and Saturdays and it changes about 20 percent.
Own 3 of the fx6’s you can’t go wrong!!
have you tried cutting off 3ft + of unnecessary hose you have on the return line because how you have that at the moment is a performance killer on any filter.
Its enough media for a 400 gallon aquarium with one fish, same size tank with 20 fish is another story, maximum flow, maximum tank size ect are just that, an absolute maxomum but your tank setup and stock rates ect will determine its capabilities.
As for the other complaints, does it have a telescopic stem, yes, is it made out of plastic, yes ( what other material would be fish safe) does it have a dual adjustable return nozzle, yes, can you perform water changes with the filter, yes, so it can do what its advertised to do, what exactly where you thinking those terms meant.
Surprised you didn't mention it doesn't add fresh dechlorinated water back to the tank for you, after all that's part of a water change
Yea, was gonna mention the excess hose. That bogs down your pump a LOT.
I like this guy's videos , but he's just doing some unnecessary complaining..how he has his hose is 100% wrong...the Fx6 is worth the $350.
Yeah, when I saw how he had that hose. I thought he was clowning, but I guess not. 🤡 maybe he should’ve actually read the directions. 🤔 maybe he’s just trying to be “controversial “ for likes. 🤷♀️
Amazing video
Anyone that did their research knows this.. why I recommend over filtering also take in to account that as the media loads up it will also restrict the water exchange.. me I like the 307 for my 55 gallon Discus tank and I keeps to air feed bio-sponges as welll..
Word!
Facts
Hey man,
What would you recommend for a 120+ gallon tank I have a red ear slider that's 13 years old she is a big o dump truck poop creator.
She destroys filters I cant seem to find anything to last her mighty poop shoot.
1:31 in and loving the video already.
Looked like that jag was gonna sample some fingers
IFG when are you getting that 150 gallon tall setup?
Soon
@@IFG_OFFICIAL I’m looking into a 150 tall for my peacock tank because Im tight on floor space. Do you think that will make a decent option?
I cram the output hose into the garden hose I use for my sink siphon and drain into my tub then ignore the refill routine and just use the sink siphon to refill. Otherwise you have to treat all the water before you put it back through the filter.
The quick stop valves leak!! On my third set in 4 years!
That sucks. This is the type of feedback that the people need!
You must be using them wrong. Or pulling them off weird.
@@truthfactreality6814 Not at all. I gently close the valves and remove them from the canister during cleanings. I only do this every 3 months!! 4 x per year.
If you get sand in them the aqua stops can have problems in future .I buy mine when pets, art has 50 percent of usually Christmas time for that price it’s a good deal
I have an fx6 in my 280 gallon reef tank and works great. BTW use Marineland zeolite blend for your freshwater tanks and you'll see a huge difference.
I agree about the water change hose. It didn’t drain.. so I had to suck up fish shit water to get it to drain… several times to drain the canister. Cleaned it, put everything back in and less than a week later it made these crazy bubbling noise thing… today… Wednesday I’m gonna clean it again to see why the bubbling…..
Get a sump. Bashsea are awesome. I never use water change feature. It’s a good strong filter. I open it up once a month or so and clean sponges etc. That’s it.
Yes .there over hyped..but love them & just picked up my 5th fx6 today.allso all canister filters get air in them, but the fx4 & fx6 are the only filters to self perg out the air, NO CALISTER FILTER SHAKE HERE!!!!!.
I agree that you need more bio media but all that foam in there grows a ton of good bacteria. Some of the things I've read and a few video's I've watched say that the foam grows more than the bio media. I'm not sticking up for the fx6. I agree it's over hyped and over priced but is still a great filter that moves a ton of water even packed with bio media compared to other large canisters. I have multiple fx6 but I have more sunsun 304b's. Can't go wrong with either of them. My opinion save some coin and get a sunsun.
Great video you speak the truth I run a Penn place cascade and it works just as well and I had some cheddar left for other things
Set up a hydroponics bilge setup (like a bog =+ Plants) Have done this with my Aquarium and well stoked small pond, will get that water crystal clear....just need a smaller tank that can be drilled to overflow back into your main tank
Bro i have had my sun sun HW-304B for 8 months on a 125 angel fish tank and keeps it cristal clear. Its not that i cant afford this fx6 but for the price i can get 6 sun suns 👍🙌
How much was the sunsun hw 304 one u bought for? I wish i could get one for my flowerhorn tank 🙁
14:00 yep, just a massive sponge filter! just like what I use in my pond, but make myself....I see it as a good alternative to a Air sponge or more expensive options for aquariums....definitely would have wished for a product like this when I first started!
My 4 is still cooking along. Lol
I have the following:
150gal with FX6 with rain bar
125gal with FX6 with rain bar
75gal with FX4
60gal with FX6
If you want longer hoses lowes/Home Depot/local plumbing store for longer hoses
I haven’t had an issue with any of the Fluval filters and easy to clean.
Yeah I have one, along with an aqua clear 110. Fx6 is a fire a** filter!
My Sun Sun self prime's...???...I got it to see if I liked canister filters without spending much money..and I love it..I also have a Penn Plax that one is really good too...
Fluval is a solid product, Sicci has a serious contender as well. I’d be willing to look at Sicci too. Great job as always. DonnieB from NH 🤘🏼
I've ran a Sicce Whale 500 canister filter for a few years now without a single problem, those italians make good quality products!
I have 2 FX4s on my 125. I've watched many CZcamsrs to customize my filters the way it works for me. One side is more sponge and media, the other is more media some carbon. Works different for every tank and fish you keep. .keep up the great work.
Mine came with two really full trays worth of media, one of the little ceramic balls, and one of the ceramic cylinders you had there. I'm not sure why you had only one tray worth, perhaps because I'm in a different country.
Thanks for the review. I'm building a 140-gallon glass tank. This looks like a good filter in the right situation, but I prefer DIY to buying off-the-shelf. I made a 1,500-gallon tilapia tank, did all the filtration myself. Radial flow filter, polishing filter pads (a quick hosing off once a week cleans the pads), and moving bed bio filter. You can easily see to the bottom of the three-foot-deep tank.
😎💯👍🏾🔥
what do you recommend for a 125 gallon tank in your PO?
Checkout The king of DIY, His review of Fluval canisters.
no one else noticed his veiw to sub ratio
Fluval filter is the best I have 2 of them I love them
Leave it to a company that still sells Aquaclear (Nokia) at Seachem Tidal (Samsung Galaxy) prices.
Shorten your hoses up. That pump is working twice as hard to push water to the tank.
No it’s not. I done that for the purpose of the vid
I have a fx6 I love it I'm adding a 07 and a uv clarifier to it as well I heard ups and downs cleaning it is the only down I have another tank with just hob it's a big diff I watch all ur vids for info thanks for ur time and great info ps if that cage piece comes off you're fish will loose there face it took flower horns from me as far as the quality length features everything u covered truth it's a lot of trips g with a bucket 😂😂😂😂 no lie the only issue I herd with uv is once the bulb does u have to buy a new unit fluvsl hear us that passionate fix this
Owned them but went to sumps on all my large tanks never looked back now for 5 years
U mean fluval tested the FX6 on bettas?!?! :OOO
I just want to know how you talked your significant other into letting you setup a fish tank room. asking for a friend.
She figured out it’s better to have him here playing with a bucket and a hose, than out there pulling buckets with the hos! 😁
First thing I did with my fx6 was remove the aquastop valves and replaced with gate valves. They just look like a leak waiting to happen.
Do have video on this can’t find gate valve that will connect the other end
Man you seem to have a lot of problems (nitpicking) with this filter. Still the best canister you can buy. And super easy to maintain. Pick it up for half price at petsmart and this filter is a no Brainer.
😂😂😂😂😂
Is it just me or is that water still foggy ? It’s rated for 400g but barely filtering a 110. Is it just the lack of media?
Yeah it’s just you
Come on man..we love u back in London but not this kind of content. ....fwd to next one. Hope Flower horn is getting better !!
So do you think it will work on a 210 gallon fish tank
It will but if you have cichlids you'll need 2 of these for X10 overall water turnover. With 1 FX6 you'll get X3 which is not even recommended for community fish tanks.
100% 👍👍
I'll say, my FX6 does a great job filtering my tank....BUT after just 2 years I've had to replace the motor and impeller. My Ehiem has been going strong for 9 years on my 55g and I've yet to have to replace a single part
700th like right here
I have a CFS700 and my buddy who showed me it has a FX6 and the cfs700, 750gph is way more then the “900+” FX6 it’s not even comparable and it’s 1/3rd of the price.
Any leaks ?
I have 2 on my 180 if it’s clean it works well but after about a month it doesn’t clean my 180 so one no going to clean a 400 gallon tank
👍✌️
I have an Aquaclear 110 and 2 Marineland Internal Canisters. A total of 1080 GPH. More than the fx6
My canister filter isn’t telescopic. I’ve got intake jealousy
Lol😊😊
Idk based on reviews the fx6 is the best filter on the market
My best filter ever✅️✅️
Nice watch, that a Rolex
G Force
The cardi voice took me OUT 🤣
🤣
they should drop the price on them filter and it wouldn't be as bad
Great Video Pond Guru did a video on the FX6 with biohome media, it just about did a 75 gallon tank with the media, I bought the eheim 2262 got 10 kiolgrams of biohome ultra in the filter for a 90 gallon discus tank and had to turn down the out put was to much for the discus to handle. love the eheim 2262, holds a shit load of media, again great video. Joe H Navy Seabee
Eheim for the win
Always used the 2262. Never an issue. The FX 6 is all the rage these days. Purchased one to run in tandem with my 2262. No comparison. The eheim blows it away by far. The FX 6 has given me nothing but problems.
