"Don't let what you are stop you from becoming what you could be." This is so profound and very relatable.
I dont get it. How can you become something you are not?
@@invictus_They-Them_Nazi_Hunter Don't let ''what you are'' stop you from becoming "what you could be". Exp: Your current self may effect your future but it shouldn't stop you from changing to someone better. Basically, "you have the potential to change your life".
@@rindotokameymekishipiztach6439 within reason
@@invictus_They-Them_Nazi_Hunter I’ve always thought of goals, self improvement etc as making a cake. You plan (recipe) work out what you need (ingredients) try, screw it up, try again, gets better, get a slightly better recipe from someone you know (mentor/guidance) then keep going until you get what it is you wanted to make. You start out as nothing, with no skills then you grow up & you learn new things. If you’ve ever tried to learn a language, it’s incredibly hard (from my experience) so we should all take some solace from the fact we can speak a language, read a language, can calculate etc we take these for granted but if you can learn what you learn at school you can do anything. Just have to do the planning + the effort and work smart :)
I feel like this is a quote from some philosopher.
2:12 "don't let what you are stop you from what you can be.."
Don't let "what your are" stop you, from "what you could be".
@@dodekaedius basically you need to constantly better yourself

@Party Surprise oh ok. Well have a nice day! God bless! :>
"You have to be willing to lose your life in order to find it". Yes. If you are struggling, miserable, and under a lot of pressure. You got to drop everything and stop fearing your own mortality in order to break the cycle and start improving.
Christian baptism is this idea. Die to be reborn.
100% Correct ☝🏽☝🏽both comments above
Do not sacrifice who you could be for who you are today. This is such a beautiful encouragement. :-)
he quite literally said the exact opposite of what you just said
Thank you Jordan for the Essential truth.
Sound simple but its good to be reminded.
This is great info. Thank you for taking the time to break these down in the most important pieces for us. You’ve made my day again :-)
Thank you for your loving wisdom, internet dad.
I'm often in awe of Dr. Peterson's ability to articulate deeply complex ideas. His example motivates to hone my own speaking and writing skills.
Thanks for sharing this video!
How is the process brother? Working on that also :)
@@oscarernstyung1051
Still working on it!
His advice for honing your articulation skills include reading great books by great authors which I've been trying to do more of. My writing habits have fallen much more by the wayside though.
In speech, I've noticed how Dr. Peterson rarely uses fillers such as "uh" and "umm", comfortable for silence to settle as he contemplates for a moment how to organize what he wants to say before doing so.
I'm also trying to practice this more in my own life, not feeling the rush to instantly respond within a second's time but practicing being more deliberate and controlled in my speech.
May your attempts to improve your speaking and writing be fruitful!
@@jasontm91 oh great! Btw, did you sign up his Self-authoring programme? :) I am trying it !
I am trying to be more articulate with my words too!
Amazing!
Jordan gives me pain in my head. Leaves me vulnerable.
and yes his thoughts make you think. Life is so fucking hard.
can be, but once we systematically get better and know what we wanna do, the microreceptors will reward us and it will pay itself off over time and definitely in the end. itll work out for us
“You have to be willing to lose your life to find it”

Could you explain this please?

i just wish i could be in one of his lectures
I have never watched a clip of JP where he does not mention chaos and order, malevolence, catastrophe, human capacity to evil, jung, and netsche. God he is so consistent in his speech. Lmao

What was the picture slide before Buddah?
The Old Testament book Leviticus mentioned the Idea of a sabbatical year, ie work 6 years have the 7th off . Would this be good for people like me at 35 who are concerned that they will have to work longer into old age because pension funds will be almost worthless . I don't want to retire due to illness in the future.
This is full of wisdom. A book I read with comparable teachings was a sage read. "Dominating Your Clock: Strategies for Professional and Personal Success" by Anthony Rivers
I wonder what his tests look like?
Probably somewhere between chaos and order
Please, help finding my strength, Sir 👍
this video is a really sophisticated way to say "get a job"

Interesting opinion on water of life. But such an arbitrary, though poetic, interpretation just says that this concept of source of life doesn't belong to the Indo-European tradition.
Damn, you're dense

Yeh... but this could be improved
Jesus said much of this two thousand years ago, good to see Jordan validate Jesus' wisdom in a concise way. Read the New Testament Matthew, Mark, Luke and John to compare (e.g. Jesus is the living water refer John 4 verses 13-14)...

Buddha's chest swastika is the next video!
Discipline my boys
The "swastika" is a Native American traditional symbol. It was a positive thing back in the day.
None of you will believe me but Saturn (Chronos) was our first sun, a period prior to "daylight", hence the Swatstika in both forms represents a cosmic alignment or Plasma formation seen in the sky, a global event. It surely is a representation for day and night phases of Earth's existence, as well as chaos and order but not in the way we assume as Saturn was a brown dwarf star with a protective plasma sheeth hence shielding earth enveloping it in a purely ordered system prior to the parting of the "watery chaos" (plasma sheeth instability and subsequent flooding and rising of sea level).
The Swatstika is directly related to the Black Sun (Saturnian Cosmology) a period theoretically suggesting that Earth may have developed and evolved in a different stellar environment in a coaxial orbital system with Mars, Venus, Earth and Saturn/Jupiter.
Watch David Talbot's series on "Symbols of an Alien Sky" as well as "Discourses on an Alien Sky". Or alternatively read Immanuel Velikovsky's "Worlds in Collision". Though most scoff at Saturnian and Plasma Cosmology theory just as they ridiculed both Velikovsky and Tesla but I would advise any critical thinkers to analyze it more carefully. It holds more weight than society realizes.

This video does nothing to help you to be productive or efficient
It tells why, but not how.

It does tell you how.
