- SCP 990 is a Keter Class anomaly also known as Dream Man.
SCP-990 is generally a human male dressed in a Cold War era business suit who appears to Foundation personnel through dreams.
SCP-990's existence came to light when several Agents discussed having dreams involving a similar individual. Numerous other Agents reported dream-sightings of an individual matching the description of SCP990. The phenomenon did not officially receive SCP classification until the aftermath of event-990-07.

That's true my friend. SCP-990 and SCP-4999 are one of the few Keter class entity with wholesome intentions.

Ok. Then I will tell you in detail how it will end. You know how software development is a hobbyist activity today, done by many millions of people, but 70 years ago, there were maybe 5 on Earth who did that, and they probably all worked for either IBM, or the US government, maybe the British government? Well, that is of course because owning a computer was not something an ordinary person could do back then. In 50 more years, the cutting edge biotech of today, done in laboratories by pharmaceutical companies, will be something that someone can do in their garage as well, thanks to crispr cas 9, a cellular mechanism that allows for detailed gene editing. It will at this time be possible to write DNA code and just fabricate your own custom organism. Someone ambitious might get the idea to make a real catgirl. Or a new fantastical animal. But one man who hates the world, will create the ultimate virus. A virus as perfectly lethal as rabies, but which is airborne, which shows no symptoms for 30 days, is contagious after 1 day long before showing symptoms, and kills after 35 days. 1 month after it is created, everyone on Earth will have the disease, and yet no one will even know it exists yet. Until people start dying. 5, 10 times as many will die every day. And the best scientists will find they have just a week to try to create a cure. It won't be enough time. Not even close. That is how it will end. It is almost certainly the reason for the Fermi paradox. Every civilization develops until it cracks the mystery of biology, and then all it takes is one to burn it all down. Nuclear weapons are not such a problem, because it is hard to get the nuclear materials, such as uranium 235 or plutonium 239, and hard to design a bomb for most of the fissile materials it could use or else it will not result in a devastating explosion but just a pulse of radiation that will kill everyone within a few hundred feet. This is why terrorists don't nuke cities. But with genetic engineering, it is easy. The doomsday scenario doesn't require mining and processing uranium and separating isotopes, or advanced bomb designs that require a team of scientists 4 years to make. All it will take is one man who hates the world and wants to see it all burn. The end won't be from nuclear war, it will be from a custom perfectly lethal virus, as soon as biotechnology reaches a certain level. That level is where the human race is about to reach.

SCP 990 seems like the SCP version of Absol. Absol appears when a disaster is going to come and warns nearby people of it but they thought Absol caused the disasters causing it to be classified as the Disaster Pokémon and being thought of as bad luck

I think the mystery SCP is exactly what it is. Something that’s a mystery even if captured. Something so powerful that the SCP foundation can’t/couldn’t contain it if they wanted too. Her powers I think are also a mystery, maybe something to do with a ability to absorb or mimic powers of different beings. A being who isn’t one or always the same regardless.

I also heard from another SCP-channel that 990 cut a researchers hand in the researchers dream. Then 990 said, that this was necessary and that they're safe from "him". I don't know who he meant by "him" but I am sure that he has something to do with the new SCP...

Personally, I think the “final boss” anomaly he described was SCP-239. Such a powerful entity, who was confirmed to have been actually born, certainly fits his description.

I doubt it, because in universe the SCP's are probably numbered in the order of numbers as they come, and if this SCP was classified 990 before the big threat to humanity appeared it couldn't be 239, which would've come before.

However, it would have to be very early on, and without dates of events it is difficult to say. But it may be that SCP-990 was late enough in the Foundation's history that designations were a thing, so I believe you would be correct. After all, the doctor did state that it would be a long time before such a designation would be given.
it really impresses me how earth in the SCP universe still exists, like, there's so many SCP's that could actually end life, and destroy earth itself

Personally, I think that mystery anomaly in question is SCP-3895. (Look it up) Some people call it “The Mother” and the number of it is far away from 990. Not sure though...
I like how the SCP writers always pull scps from real life events like this one is pertaining to the Happy valley dream study which was a hoax but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

My best guess is probably some sort of goddess of pure hatred, meant as a vessel for the Scarlet King or the Crimson Khan, entities that have no physical form yet. If there are any goddesses in containment past SCP-990, let me know.

I think the girl 990 is talking about is the last child of the Scarlet King that is in the lullaby limbo. if my lore is correct the last child will allow the Scarlet King to enter our realm and destroy it.

Believe it or not, I have been having some SCP Foundation dreams lately.
990 is a time travel lab rat, metaphorically speaking. He didn't go back in time, he got stuck outside of time. He can now only reach people when they are asleep by stepping into their dreamscape, a place that is temporarily real where he is stuck at while people are dreaming. I can't remember the science fiction story, but I read about this guy in another fiction before. He was a cold war agent, a courrier, who failed once too often and to volunteer for the time travel experiment was the only way to not "retire" (get neutralized, killed). I was a teen during the Cold War era when I read the story... as an avid reader, so I cannot recall the specific place I read it. If you can tell me, I'd like to recollect the story and re-read it as an old man now.
I've watched too much scp videos I begin to think that everything is an anomaly... I literally called my sister an anomaly for being able to make me angry within seconds.

the biggest jump scares I've ever received!
If I dream I lucid dream it's been like that since I was 16 because I'm autistic and my brain and consciousness doesn't let dreams or intoxication control it like it would a regular person I can do whatever I want within the reality of my dreams and get so drunk I can't see or walk straight or pass out and still be completely in control and usually remember everything in detail
Now this fits my idea of future sight, where the future seen is often more likely to *not* happen than to occur as seen. It might as well just be showing what would have happened if the vision never occurred. After all if you see your future self do something that spells disaster... would you let it happen just because you saw it?

Here´s my thougths on who the man might be. As far as i watched these videos, apparently bringing 055 and 579 together reverts the world to a state before the end of the world.
What if he is the product of that fusion? That would at least explain a few questions:
Why does he only appear to SCP-Personell? Because he comes from a time where the world (probably) got destroyed by something anomalous, so the SCP-Foundation are the only people who can prevent it.
Why does he know the Future and how to prevent it? He literally just came from there.
