  • Yes, I do make holiday candy - but you won't find any white sugar in my kitchen. Instead, you'll find it full of natural sweeteners. Today, I'm sharing with you my favorite honey taffy recipe I make for the holidays. Enjoy!

I use the honey that gets granulated to make cinnamon rolls...it is a great substitute for brown sugar especially when you add a little bit of molasses.

I can remember pulling taffy with my grandmother every time we came to see her on vacation. We also pulled taffy with my dad at Christmas time a lot. Your videos take me back to a simpler better time. I wish we all lived like that now. Caring about each other and traditions.

I just made your wonderful taffy!! Success! I quit sugar 15 months ago and only have honey every now and then when I need a little sweetener. It cured my sugar cravings entirely. What a treat to have something sweet for the holidays with this super easy recipe. First time I’ve ever made candy. Easy and fun! Thank you for your wonderful show and being our silver lining in 2020. Blessings to you and your family.

How did you possibly do this entire video without sounding preachy and making this look so magical in fun?!
I quite literally just left my house after walking upstairs and seeing my whole family make processed food and frozen food instead of all the real food I have in the fridge. It is a process I get it but I get so fed up.
I don't even eat taffey.... I just find your videos relaxing as a whole so I watched this and this was such well said inspiration.
You actually inspired me to calm down focus and just keep it simple make changes not get angry it's a process and it will happen eventually.
Love love love the whole video!!
You are graceful in every way! Thank you for being such a good teacher and thank you for making these videos! 💙💙💙🙌🥰

It is very sweet that you made this for your struggling friend. As a person who also struggles with intermittent sugar addiction, and as a survivor of bulimia, I can add that in addition to making shifts in the diet, deep introspection is required. Emotional attachments to sugar begin very early - when our Mom first hands us a cookie and says "I love you," along with it, or when sugar is used as a reward for good work. We grow up in this culture with some pretty twisted attachments to it. I cringe when I see Mamas bribing their kids with sweets, and I hear the problem extends into the classroom with teachers motivating their students with straight up candy. Back to your friend, the path to finding out why we turn compulsively to sugar is a complex one. I hope she can take the time to patiently sit with herself in the immense discomfort of it, from time to time, and understand that sugar addiction will not go away all at once, nor should it, as it is a journey into self-deepening. For years I tried "getting rid" of all the sugars in the house and just doing stevia/honey/ect. This just led to more crazy feelings. Sometimes we stuff the feelings because we just can't face the incredible intensity of it - like fury that your spouse isn't helping with the clean up, when you have an image in your mind as yourself as a sweet person without goddess rage. "Lean into the discomfort" and "stay with the feeling" are some of the best pieces of advice I have ever received about it (don't try to run away from the feeling and notice when you do, along with the sugar.)

I have gotten used to the wonderful flavors mother earth provides us. I can't imagine eating junk food again, as I am feeling so good now. I make my own date paste, get honey from a local sustainable bee keeper and maple syrup from the food coop. It makes me feel good knowing that I am doing something that supports the environment, my community and my healthy body.

There are probably much better resources out there for your for plant-based options. I eat a lot of animal products here on the farm :) Thanks for watching!

Sounds good. That dress is stunning on you. Have you tried making nougat since you have stock of milk and cream? Thanks for sharing

Does your thermometer also indicate the Celsius temp? Great recipe by the way, simple and healthy!

I love this video, I have made honey caramels several times before, but never Taffy. I might have to try it, nothing like playing with your food. I love it and i love your channel. Oh by the way.....what kind of recipes do you use your sauerkraut in...i am in such a rut. Thanks

I kept waiting for a taste test, I would have eaten 3 or 4 by the time you were done 🤪 I guess that means I need more fermented foods

Awesome video! If after boiling and trying to cool my honey what is the problem if it's still too runny where I cannot get to the stretching part?

Brought back childhood memories my mum makes it with sugar cane and cream delicious, must give it a goal and she never used thermostat so remember her putting the spoon in a glass of water and consistency needed to be stringy so was time to get it off the stove, that dress suits you so well x
