Those bar code machines don’t always work. One told me I had a $15 winner. And it was wrong. Even the machine behind the counter makes mistakes. Well at least I thought it did. I had a $10 winner & the guy said it wasn’t a winner. I said it was. Maybe he wanted the $10 for himself.
If you do this and it destroys your ticket, you will have to send it off to verify your winnings, which will take about 8 months or more . Don't do this!
The tickets are verified regardless, but I do believe of it appears tampered with or unusual in any way it will delay the pay out because they will investigate to make sure it's legit.
And in seconds you made the barcode completely unscanable and In some states, that means even if you just hit the jackpot if they can’t scan the barcode you basically just threw all of that in the trash.

I typically yell at my kids for having food or drinks near my laptop, this guy uses it as a scratch off station lol. But I guess with no scratch shavings, all he has to worry about is the latex smears (or whatever scratchers use as a coating). When scanned it will tell you if you're a winner or not. Much faster and less messy than this. Yw
On the rare chance I feel like buying a few tickets. And that's an empathize rare. I don't scratch off the prizes unless I win. Because they are designed to make you feel like "you almost had 10000 dollars" to get stupid people to buy more. It's a voluntary poor tax and people love to play it. I get them because it reminds me of my mother who got them every week. I might go to a bingo hall sometime to honor her that way too.

I can’t remember the last time u saw a lotto machine! They used to be in all the grocery stores and to think about it it’s got to be since I was a teen and I’m in my 40’s.
They are in every grocery store in Illinois and Missouri, along with several convenient store chains. Your state lottery laws my prevent this, especially if they are strict to prevent mimors from gambling.

If you really want to take even more fun and time out of it all you gotta do is buy it then give it back to the cashier to scan. The barcode on the back already shows if it’s a winner or not
There are lottery ticket vending machines? Where I live in Canada they don't even keep many visible at the till in stores cuz people reach over and pull them out lol. Recently anyways. Crime is getting bad here 😢
Canada should consider it. People can't steal them from the vending machine without breaking it open. The stolen tickets would be voided and marked in the database as such before they could attempt to redeem them. Attempting that would get them caught quickly.
I don’t buy them unless my intuition tells me to. I was down to my last $20 at Kroger. I passed the machine and knew I was going to win. I got 1 ticket and won $500. That’s happened a few times. I don’t know how I know I just “know”.
If u use degreaser and put paper money in bowl microwave it for 10 minutes then use a soft head tooth brush and all I mean of the design on the bill will be left blank completely .turn a 5 into 50..
