I agree. It's not common knowledge to do it, so hopefully others can benefit from it
the R72 gearbox is known to have several problems with oiling the bearings, keep on top of your gear oil changes and check for leaks every now and then. I am not sure which drive shaft they use but one of them is known to also develop a leak through the yoke, but you are right these drive so much nicer with a manual compared to the autos

hurt me to see all those sparks flying around ....a multi tool would have taken a bit longer but no sparks and filings being flung everywhere.
but props for having the guard on the grinder!
I didn't like the sparks inside the jimny either, but the grinder was the most suitable. Although I see a lot of people using the grinder without the guard, I would never do that. That's too risky for me.

I thought you might of got a other manual Speedo so you don’t have the Park Reverse etc on it
If I come across one I'll purchase it but it's very hard to find locally

In an original manual yes, in this swap…nope
I guess he would have to put a switch to the pedal from the same wire he shunted anyway (as if it was the pedal senor)
or flash the ecu or something, not a mechanic

Hello. It’s the orginal 5 speed manual transmission , from the same jimny.
You seem to have the same engine and drive train (at least now) as mine. I wanted to do a 2WD-L mod but documentation on that model is lacking. I know there's a switch to put on a specific wire in the engine bay (the same you shunt for a manual hub swap) but I couldn't find any example for that specific year. Do you happen to know how to do it or plan to do it ?
I have an idea of how to do it. I'll make a video in the near future

But what you need it for? I am also a Jimny owner and cannot imagine situation it will be useful.
@@MacioG when I need low gearing but also steering.
It's not recommended to steer without a central differential in 4wd mode (hi or low)
@@MacioG There's certain mountain areas locally that has extremely steep hills, with sharp corners and grooved pitch roads. Using the 4wd-L would cause extra strain on the drivetrain when taking sharp corners on high friction surfaces. Having the additional torque from the low gears while still being in 2wd allows the vehicle to corner on high friction surfaces without strain on the drivetrain. This is just one example of where 2wd-L would be an asset. I hope this helps.
Hey i am one of your subscriber , i also shifted from auto to manual but my jimny is taking high RPM, what could b the reason ?
When is it at high RPM?
@Zaff_TT when i drive it on five gear than at the speed of 80 it reaches 4rpm
I think it should b less than 3rpm over 80 speed
?
