Nicola Stevens is a 51 year old mother from Kent, she was happily in a relationship for several years and enjoyed regular nights out for meals with her partner which she shared on her social media accounts.
But in April of 2020 that facade fell apart when French police hacked Encrochat and police began intercepting all the messages sent from the handsets to arrange the distribution of cocaine across England.
The NCA put surveillance on Nicola and her organised gang to gather evidence.
This case also shines light on the little noticed female involvement in gangs and the perception they do not possess high level command roles.
This story broke two days ago and no images of the convicted have been released and not one msm newspaper have published their faces.
The non publishing of their faces takes away the public interest in the case and is also in my opinion unfair.
The gang profited by over £27million and were not a small operation.
Daily we see small time criminals faces published online and they should be treated no different.
