    Decided we are gonna run it without a drip rail, I think it really modernises the patrol and I’m in love with the look! Chuck a like if you agree!! P.s. sorry for all the talking, this video took around 20 hours to do so I was just updating every now and again and wasn’t filming much of the work itself! Thanks

    Really needed a video like this to be posted on CZcams! I have a similar issue on my 89 Maverick and it really killed my motivation for working on the car. After this though its like a kick up the arse to keep moving forward with the build. Great videos man, keep it up.

    That's pretty great really. I have the same problem on my truck, and this is the first really good video on how to attack it I've found.

    If you want to protect this car and be definitively efficient against rust , you should put grease everywhere. grease is the only thing very efficient against rust. put grease between metal and carpet, inside door, behind metallic bumper, under the vehicle, behind the repairs you can make (everywhere inside the body - hidden erea - instead of using paint), hollow areas (necessarily hidden, so no need to be aesthetic). For rear wings unreachable with a paintbrush, use an extender and pour old oil everywhere each year. Rust almost always comes from the inside and welds. Handyman Experience - 35 years. From france

    dont mean to burst ya bubble dude but bog is a porous substance when hard and it will soak up any moisture so its always a good idea to prime before laying bog down otherwise youll have a bogggy rusty mess 1-2 years down the track

      What’s your criticism, doing this myself also any tips would be great

    • @thirtyfivefifty6551
      @thirtyfivefifty6551 Před 3 lety +4

      @@joeodonnell2176 depends what area of panel beating you're doing but let's say filler work. Mix up more than you think you'll need. Wipe it in from top to bottom then smooth it out horizontally (or with the length of the panel). Also fill it right out, not just splodges here and there, if there many dents or imperfections in the panel fill it like its one. Then when your sanding it with a long sanding board, I think the one I mostly use is about half a foot long but I also have about a foot long board too for longer panels. Try not to rub through the filler as they will become high spots and feather your edges out smooth. I start at 80 grit, then 120 and finish in 180 grit. High fill putty primer will fill 180 grit scratches.
