Thanks for this excellent review of a very appealing pen. Please tell Audrey to tell Franklin, or possibly Christoph, to make some more of those three-color models; they are exceptionally attractive.

Totally. I first told them with money, and then with words. :-D

I own 5 different pen models from Franklin Christoph.. I love them all. I don’t own this model.. yet.. 😛 I am a big fan of the m & f sig nibs.. your wife is a rock star.
    THANKYOU for the review

Its shape does remind me of a rounded Kaweco Sport. But that is where the similarities end. Lovely pen. Wished I went to their table at the Philly Pen Show.

I suppose I see what you mean. Both have a long cap, but they aren't much alike, otherwise.

I have that same Captain Marvel Panther! I've yet to use it / ink it. In fact, I need to find wherever I stashed it. I personally like the much brighter color options. Hope they come out with something equally as bright soon.

Right?? I love the very-bright pens, and they're the ones that tempt me the most. This one was an instabuy.

Your review sent me to my collection to check a pen I got off eBay not too long ago to see if it was a Panther, but it's a model 19. It looks very similar to the Panther, especially your most recent one. (I'm also much more Marvel than DC.- except for Wonder Woman! But I like WW in her original incarnations.) The 19 is kind of large for my hand, but the Panther looks slimmer. I'll have to watch for one in colours that I like. That modified 40's resin has so much depth to it. Let us know if you remember who concocted that blend.
I like the review of pens you've had for a while. It's nice to hear the stories attached to them and to know that these aren't pens that caught your fancy when they were new and have since languished in a Penvelope, but are ones that you have continued to use over a course of years. Actually, that would be kind of a nice sub-series: pens you have loved and used over and over again.

Linda Carter used to live near my aunt, actually! I do a written series at Goldspot's blog on re-reviewing pens that I've had for years. I'm sporadic, but I do enjoy writing those. Perhaps a video version would be fun.

@@inkdependence So did you ever get to talk to her? How old were you then? Ooh.
I try to keep up with your posts there, but I never know when there’s a new one. Same with your blog. I can rarely find the subscribe option on most blogs these days. I need large, flashing neon arrows pointing to things, I think.

Hi Mike, I have been following your reviews for years that I always find very punctual and useful, they are also a big fan of Franklin Christoph. Among the 40 models you presented, I was very impressed by the fourth that never passed on the FC online site, is a prototype or a new resin that we will see? Thanks all the time you dedicate to this passion and that give us every week...giovanni

The modified version? It's a "color prototype" as far as I know. Those will usually just show up at pen shows, but they do sometimes sell them online these days. Keep an eye peeled. :-D

@@inkdependence thanks for the reply, I was referring to the pen you show at 7:15, the modified model 40

Love FC pens…but not these banded, outsized cap and clip attached models. Ugh, their line is typically clean, uncluttered and without cheesy little clips. Thank goodness they’ve got plenty to choose from, because this doesn’t work for me.

I'm glad they make pens for both of us, Edward. I like both the understated/sleek kinds and the wild lookatme sorts.
