- Hey guys! I really hope you found this to be helpful!
Time Stamps:
Interview: 0:00
Orientation: 11:50
Training: 18:35
Other things are spread out through the video!!
When she said she has anxiety it was like a weight off my shoulders. It's good to know that someone with anxiety can work a normal job. I'm still worried about how I will react if there are stressful situations but I really need to get my own money. I'm thinking about applying to target and this really helped me alot
IKRrr
Well if someone with anxiety can't do it, there is no hope for me so relief. I literally stutter and my ADHD is insane. I start my first day as cashier tomorrow and I already hate the color red 🤣
Aw me too I feel so ashamed but it’s so nice to not feel alone ❤ hugs to us wish we had a group chat to support each other
I just got hired at target today, and I wanted to say thank you so much! It was my first job interview ever and your video helped me know what to expect. :)
I'm so glad it helped!!
Today was my first day of training. They were so low on cashiers that they basically gave me a brief preview of how to use the register and after that, I was on my own for 4 hours. The guests are really nice. They helped me out quit a bit haha
Something similar to that happened to me during my training. I was really stressing out lol
XZ XZ customers
I do cashier too it's so easy 😂 I went in thinking it would be hard and I was so anxious but it was the easiest thing ever
I needed to hear this 😂
Well let me apply then lol
+orangutanP3 I learned to do it on the register but if you don't know how it's no biggie just send them to guest services
+H O R S I N x I'm already doing guest service. most of cashiers get put there either way it's not difficult! I like it way better than cashier
Yeah.
38 yrs old and I still get nervous on my 1st day of a new job. Starting today at Target, your video was great to watch. Thank you !
i really need this job to help my family. pray for me. 🙏
Kicks rUs You got this!
i almost didnt go to my interview because of my anxiety but i ended up going i did great and i got the job, my first day tomorrow im really scared because im a slow learned and i get very anxious and i cant think straight because of that.
hi how did it go??
@@DayanaMatute ahahaha I've been working there for 2 years now still work there
@@JustME-rw7yo Hi, I just got the offer to work as a cashier and the orientation is this Friday. I am too scared and I learn a bit slow too. So, almost in the same position like you were. How did that go? Any tips for first timers?
I just got the job!! The director was super nice. He was very happy and impressed that I brought my resume and it was printed on resume paper, so make sure to do that as well! His questions mainly revolved around what I thought being a good retail worker would be and if I had any questions for him. I was a little nervous and couldn't think of great questions but I came up with a few. So maybe plan ahead wht questions to ask. Just be friendly and smiley. Interview lasted for about 25 minutes and he told me I got the job. Didnt have a second interview
What kind of questions should we ask them .. how is the job if ur still there lol.. my interview is Monday 😬
Just got my first job at Target and this video helped me out soooo much!
Gave me an idea of how the interview was
thank you so much this has been such a big help,, I have an interview tomorrow and I feel so much more prepared now, thanks!!
I got hired a couple days ago! Your video helped me a lot while I prepared for the interview. Thanks :)
Hey I just started following your channel. You are awesome and a very good speaker. I just got hired as a cashier for seasonal for the holidays and watching your video makes me confident
This video was incredibly helpful, thank youu!! I have my interview tomorrow wish me luck.
Thanks so much for making this vid! got my interview on friday, this helped a ton
thank you so much!! i’m really thinking about getting a job there. i’m turning 16 in 2 ish months. i go there very often and all the workers know me and that’s somewhere i want to work! thank you for this video it really did help. as i’m getting ready i hope i get the job
thanks very much!
this video helped in more in than one way
i love how you went into details & looked over it in an extensive way
thanks!
maxgaxiola2600 I’m glad it helped!
Thank you so much for this I have an interview tomorrow and you made me feel like I can do this :) I have anxiety but you helped me to be at ease as much as possible wish me luck :)
You got this!
Thank you for posting it was very informative and I also have anxiety so many of the things you talked about were relatable, I start on Friday :) thank you!! 😄
thanks for uploading this video! I had my orientation this morning and this video definitely calmed my nerves!
I'm glad! I made it for that very reason. I was super nervous going in!
wow thank you ! I just got a job at target as cashier two days ago and my orientation is Aug 22 and I'm super nervous ! I am a fast learner but under pressure its hard to really focus plus I have anxiety. any more tips or information you have would be fantastic. thank you :]
My biggest tip is breathing. I know it sounds dumb and cliche, but it helps me so much to breathe while reminding myself that everything is temporary. This feeling will pass. This day will pass. Even this job will pass. I know it's hard, but don't put too much pressure on yourself to be perfect. I made so many mistakes when I first started and I beat myself up about them every time. Eventually, I realized that these small mistakes will be forgotten and in the grand scheme of my life, they won't matter in the slightest. It's also good to remind yourself why you're there. For me, I think about writing and how I have to have this job to pay for living while I work my way into the writing industry. Don't forget that there will always be help there. Target is really good about keeping managers and coworkers around, so if you need anything help is right there. I hope this helped!
Thank you so much this videos calmed me down. I have a interview today at 4:00 for target. I am super nervous. Thank you for the advice.
I'm glad you found it helpful! How'd the interview go??
Thank You so much for this vid. My interview was today and I was hired. I was so nervous until stumbling on this vid. Afterwards I just researched their Interview questions and more about the company. I was only interview once and got the job.
Nakita Maragh congrats! I’m glad I could help!
Update. I’m in softlines so yesterday was ok just putting things away. Today i was on the register. It was so scary. I felt so bad for messing up and having to flick my light on. I was so lucky most transactions were redcard, debit, or credit. I rarely had to give change. I felt so bad when a lady asked for a gift receipt and i didn’t hear her so a processed the total and she had this look her face. Bagging stuff was so awkward and the whole time the stupid divider thing kept falling and almost tripping me. I haven’t sold a redcard yet Though. Today was so busy with everyone prepping for the hurricane. Im back in softlines Thursday. I hope that goes well.
Nakita Maragh it is super scary at first. It will get better and easier! Just remember if you accidentally forget to do something, send them to guest service. I used to work over there and we’d be able to fix pretty much any issue that could come up!
Thanks a lot for this video! I had my interview on Monday, and I also got the 2nd one and got hired for electronics. I have orientation Saturday.
It'z Blackace congrats!
Training to be a cashier tomorrow for my first day! This video made me a lot less nervous thank you!
This video definitely helped me! I applied to Guest Advocate/Front Store Att. for seasonal (so I probably won’t get a ton of hours0, and I know I’ll most likely be on register duty, and it’s my first paid job and I’m super nervous bc I’ve been hearing SO MANY mixed reviews and experiences for working at Target, but so far from the people that I’ve talked to (HR, I believe the hiring manager) they all sound super nice, and this Target I’m super familiar with, so I’m hoping that it isn’t too bad 😅
I'm starting work at Dollar General, but my hope is that this will be giving me helpful hints for my Orientation tomorrow, thank you so much for this video!
How did it go?
You hate dollar general the pay is terrible the manger sucks the customers are horrible
I just got hired as a cashier and it's so hard ! I have to figure out whether it's produce, grocery, soda, beer, etc. I have to remember prices, I have to manually type in prices. I started yesterday and they ALREADY have me with customers and now today I get my own cash register. I AM NOT READY AND THEY DONT EVEN CARE.
Rosie Martinez YOUR READY!!! Lol u got it I just got hired today
Les Dee I wasn’t ready. After a month I got fired
Rosie Martinez oof that’s their fault but your gonna kill your next job!
Les Dee thank you I hope so!! I at least got some experience with a cash register now if I go apply somewhere with a modern cash register I’ll be ready
Rosie Yvette Martinez same shit happened to me at chipotle. They had me go in for an hour training and make one burrito then I worked an entire week ONLY during rush hours. 12-5 and I served probably 200 people a day with no hell. No restroom break or 10 min break and most days my gloves were burnt through and my hands were all red and people would look but I couldn’t take a break Bc it’s in Los Angeles so it’s super busy. I quit after that. Hope we both get better jobs next 😂
My orientation is tomorrow and this video was really nice in helping relax my anxiety
i love that you got your shirt at walmart and not target! lol
THANK U FOR THIS VIDEO 😭 I just started today and I was laughing so much because today was my first training day and my trainer had me on my register on my own and he was shadowing me like 90% of my shift and bagging things!!!! Omg!!! THE BAGS KEPT GETTING STUCK TOGETHER HAHAHAHA IT WAS SO HETIC BECAUSE U KNO THEY R STARING AT U LOL
IVE NEVER RELATED SO MUCH TO YOUR ANXIETY lol. It feels good to know I'm not the only one.
Briona Mullinax trust me, you’re not! 😂😊
@@KingdomOfRachel dude, your video helped me over all of the other millions I've been watching lol. I have an interview on the 13th, im so nervous but really excited too. Im trying to over come my anxiety too so.. Thanks for taking the time to put up this video, it seriously has helped me! :)
Briona Mullinax I’m so glad to hear that! Good luck on your interview! ❤️
I’m a teen and I just apply for target. The application only took me about 5mins.😅it change
This helped a ton! This may sound dumb but I have bad anxiety too and I was wondering if it's hard to get used to scanning items and if it's hard to bag stuff. Did you ask for help a lot ?
It's not dumb at all! I used to get all clumsy and my hands would shake. It just took a lot of practice. I didn't really ask for help just because I felt dumb too. When bagging things, you have like 3-4 slots that you can put things into, so it gives you a lot more time to decide where to put things. For example, if you weren't sure what to bag something with, just put it in a slot, and keep going. It'll give you more time to make decisions like that. I know it's a small thing, but it went a long way for me!
This was very helpful!
Very helpful, thanks!
Question if you mess up and press the wrong buttons moving too fast do they have a calculator or can you use your phone cause my anxiety gets in the way so i avoid mental math
Thank you so it helped me a lot. You are really great.
Thank you so much!!
What do you do when there is no customers? I know when I worked at McDonalds the made you clean or do random things to keep you busy.
I just started at Target in Charlotte NC Am 67 yo. Was a wreck but everyone is awesome in our store! Your videos totally helped me out. Only thing I'm stuck on is when a customer is paying using their card and then has a gift card they want to use, I'm feeling confused. Any tips? Thanks!
I love you for making this video ! And next time do you think you can make a video showing us how you use the cash register ? If that's possible
I'll see what I can do! No promises though, lol
At 14:50 she starts talking about orientation.
Brianna Winn thank you 😊
god bless your soul
My orientation is nov 7th at 5pm and its for seasonal hardlines, hopefully they keep me after the 195 day limit haha
thank you for this! I had my interview today and got hired!
although im extremely anxious because i got hired as a cashier and ive never worked a register, this is my first job ever
I applied for the cart and cashier position and I’m hoping to hear from them soon. I feel working as a cashier can help me be more social
When you're a cashier, does the register tell you how much change to give back because my math skills are trash 😭
It does the math for you and tells you what to give back. Don’t worry, I’m horrible at math too! :)
@@KingdomOfRachel thats so great 😭 thanks for letting me know
@@paulinaluna491 I was good at math but good thing about cashiers the computer do the math you count the money right you fine…
i have an interview tmmrw.. i’m nervous but i’m confident
i have an interview tomorrow and im sooooooo anxious! hopefully it goes the way i want it to :)
Hey how did it go
Han Solo it went pretty well considering that all this covid stuff is going on i should be getting a call on monday :) thanks for asking !!
Are you still working there? And if so how is your experience?
Hey, congrats on the job! Do you remember what they asked in the interview?
I have my interview on Thursday!!! It's scheduled for 1:30, and I have a shift at my current job at 3, so I'm reeallly hoping my process will be speedier! Do you think it will hurt my chances that I'd need to give my current employer 2 weeks notice before starting a new job at Target..? It seems most people who get hired start right away.
That's mah best friend!! ❤️❤️❤️
Ayyeee its mah best friend!!
was just offered a job in nyc paying $13.50!
Tinadola7 congrats!!!
Same here Tina
Tinadola7 so did I !
Praveen Sriram lol that was two years ago
This is the best video for this on youtube
I have orientation in an hour. I'm so nervous. I have worked at 2 grocery stores before and learned the register pretty fast so I'm not too worried just nervous
did you work part-time ? if so how many hours did you work per week ?
Thanks for this video. I should be starting soon part time. In the waiting phase. I was hired over a week ago. 🙃
I have orientation today I was hired a week ago , good pay. Ima general merchandiser also how long typically is the orientation
Is target always hiring? Do you need experience to work there?
i applied 6 days ago and got an invitation to do a virtual interview and i’m still waiting on a job offer/ rejection letter, it’s been 4 days since i did the virtual interview. Is that a good thing or bad thing cause i really want this job at target.
Also how long does it take for target to follow up with you after you have done the virtual interview??
Did you have one of the health insurance plans that were offered?
Target is my first job apply and I just got invite interview ’s mail from Target. I am so nevours.
I just got hired today at target thk u so much it's my first time and you helped me a lot thk 🙏
@KingdomOfRachel I'm a very anxious person but I feel much better after watching your video. I'm glad that I am not the only one that is this way lol you just made me and I'm pretty sure many more feel better
The King In The North thank you so much! I definitely wanted this video to make people feel better and I’m so glad it did!
How many days is training for target cashier and how long is orientation
Thank you for this video I have a interview tomorrow for guest advocate
Great video! I had a question. I wanted to know after orientation do you have to work the next day after the orientation or you will be given a schedule.
Kristina Fam you will be given a schedule!
Why didn't she buy her uniform at Target ¿?¿?
I applied to target like a year ago and I thought it was gonna go good, I got both interviews on the same day so I felt like I was getting the job. But after that I would call and ask of where I stand and basically they kept me in the dark until I went to the store myself to ask if I was gonna get the job or not and they told me no bc they already filled the slots. Is it weird that I’m gonna apply again? I’ve always wanted to work at target. And if I do get hired this time, it’d be seasonal so my time there won’t be secure. Do you have any tips on how to go from a seasonal employee to a regular?
dani The only thing I would say is make sure you work really hard, get to know your coworkers, and I guess do everything you can to make a good impression. When the seasonal part comes to a close, hopefully you would've gotten comfortable at target enough to ask them if there is any way you can stay. I honestly doubt they would say no to that if you prove that you're willing to work hard and that you like it there.
i have been so interested in target job as a cashier but i didn’t get the job but i really want to apply again. i need help with everything again.
Hi again!
I have another question, are you able to eat anytime during the Target orientation? Because I'm debating on whether or not to bring my lunch to eat there.
And how long after my orientation will I start working? I wasn't sure if it would be the next day, or the next week?
Rylee Miller it completely depends. Bring food just in case! My orientation was quick and then I was released to go home. I didn’t start work until the next week. My friend on the other hand, had orientation and immediately jumped into cashier training. She was then scheduled for the next day. It depends on how desperate they are for people and what the supervisor wants. I got the job a year ago from June. My friend got it last month so it depends on the store and they’re current needs. 😀
@@KingdomOfRachel Okay thanks! I guess I'll just have to see, because I got hired to work the cafe, so who knows🤷♀️ ..... Thank you for your help!
say if you have school at 8am do you have to miss a school day to go to the orientation?? or do you just tell them that you have school that day and they’ll reschedule??? OR will they give you a list of days/times to come to orientation??? PLEASE ANSWER
happy gal Definitely tell them! They were super good about scheduling around school when I worked there. They should let you know your choices for orientation times so just choose whichever works the best.
I just got a job at Safeway as a cashier clerk. It’s stressful and it’s good
Hi so I feel like this is a dumb question but do I clock in by myself on the first day of training? I think at orientation they said I don't until the day after that but I want to make sure.
I clocked in on my first day of training. I had orientation on a different day than my training. For orientation, they clocked in for me.
I got hired for fufillment myself expecting lots of hours at least 30 but Human Resources at Target I applied for and gave me 16 hours each week and the job is not hard but I ended up finding a better job full time as a messenger courier :) The management is run by some girls that can even clean their bottoms. If you guys like the job then go ahead and work their while you finish school
First of all, thank you so much for making this video, it definitely eased my anxiety. I know every store is going to be different, but if I applied for softlines and a beauty team member, could they still make me work the register? I know its probably easy, but thinking about working the registers just gives me anxiety! Thanks :)
Caitlin Hicks Everyone in the store has a minimum of one day of training on the register just in case they need back up to the front during the really busy times. I feel you 100% on the anxiety! After an hour or two, it becomes second nature and people are always around if you have questions.
I just got two job offers and have orientation on Tuesday. My hair was black at my interview but is now half green and half black. Are they acceptable of unnatural hair colors or will I have to dye it back?
Lindsey DeMaro there are several people at my target with purple hair. My target doesn’t seem to care about stuff like that, but all targets are different, so you might want to ask one of the managers!
Hi! I start my orientation in a week, I'm just wondering how soon after your orientation did you start your training? Thanks!
Brandie Muniz I know it’s different for everyone, but I started my training about a week after orientation!
I've a question please what should I wear for my orientation?
Aminata Diaby something business casual. Not too fancy but not too casual.
Im guessing that the app process has changed?? Cause mine didnt look anything like that tbh. Plus it said that the site was temporarily down as soon as I submitted. Then when I tried re-submitting/did another app it said that I answered the questionare and HR would contact me if there was an open position.
Powell Family that’s weird. It’s been a full year since I applied so I have no idea of what it’s like now. Good luck though!
what time do you start working at target ?
Thanks for the video! I just got hired and I’m waiting for a call for orientation
Cristian Pelayo that’s awesome!
I had an interview on Wednesday and they told me they would call me back for a second interview, usually how long do they take to call you back?
It depends on how badly they need people. I suggest you wait 3 days to a week and if they still haven't called, call them and ask for an update!
Great video
I do cashiers be honest is so easy my store we don’t have much cashiers but it very easy in getting know the customer is very cool…
I just got hired yesterday as a target cashier. This is my first job ever as I’ve only been 16 years old for 2 and a half months. I actually think I’m going to love being a cashier because talking to people really is my thing. I’m just worried about those red cards. It’s nearly required for me to keep my job to sell at least 1 red card per shift. I’m happy about the job I got but that part with the red cards is just really nerve-racking. I work at a target where it’s very, very popular. Many guests walk in that door so that’s something that I find helpful. Overall it seems like an amazing first job, especially for a 16 year old. I’m this young and I’m a cashier at a popular target and I get payed $12.50/hour. I feel so lucky to have been given this opportunity and I really don’t want to mess up because of those red cards. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)
Flamixng x you’re required to sell one per shift?! Something that I always asked when they were about to pay is “are you going to be paying with your red card today?” If they said no, I would ask if they were interested. Sometimes, someone would come up and immediately ask about the red card. Those were the easy ones to sell. My suggestion is to be kind of low key about it because I noticed that people got more irritated when I tried to sell it hardcore. Just do your best. That’s all you can do!
KingdomOfRachel yeah that seems about the best way to do it. Kind of sneak the red card in lol. But thanks so much! The video and advice was very insightful. I have friends anyway who can back me up if I’m still in need towards the end of a shift. :P anyways, thanks again!
I have an interview on Friday I’m so scared
I start working at my local grocery store well training on July 9th 2018 posting this a week earlier any tips for a new employee who is gonna be doing bagging
Cam Howe As a general rule, I like to put the cold things with the cold things and bread/eggs/fragile things separately from everything else. If you’re ever unsure about anything, ask the customer! Sometimes the customer will want some things a certain way.
does target supply the uniforms and who pays for them, and if I pay ,can I do payments
beverly taylor the uniforms are supplied by you. I got my shirts for $5 at Walmart and some cheap khakis at kohls
So i went in for a interview today for a Starbucks at target. The lady said she’ll give me a call back today or tomorrow does that mean i did bad or i won’t get it. ☹️ help please.
How did the interview go? What is your gut feeling? I feel like if she told you that she would call you back so soon, it must mean you did well. Otherwise, she could've just said "I'll get back to you" without any kind of timeline. You know what I mean? :)
How long did it take for them to get back to you on when you would be having a second interview? I had a interview today but it was a phone interview. I'm from New York btw
I had an interview in person, so I had both of my interviews within a couple hours. Maybe give it a couple of days and see if they call. If they don't, call them and ask. :)
I had to go in to the store for my first interview, I was hired right after that first interview but I guess it depends on how desperately they need employees. Just make sure you have an answer to every question rather than sitting in silence. I know its hard but it helps if you have a friends hold a "mock interview". That's what I do because I have bad social anxiety and used to freeze up when it came to interviews. Good Luck!!
I have an interview on thursday im really nervous, but you made my anxiedy drop down a bit lol
I'm so glad! You're going to do great!
KingdomOfRachel yayy i got all 3 interviews yesterday 😃😃 & im going to orientation on monday thank you so much for the tips ❤
Of course!! Congratulations!!!!!
Jazmin Orozco I have an interview on Thursday
Good luck!!!
Hi I had an interview in target which took almost 10 minute after that they said you can go and did not said we would call or email you so what do you thing is the issue bcz I am wondering
Give it a couple of days and call them to ask for an update. It’ll show that you’re even more interested in the job!
Can You Teach Me How To A Job At Target As
Guest Advocate (Cashier Or Front Of Store Attendant/ Cart Attendant)
For the orientation paperwork do you just sign your name? if so do you sign your full name?
I believe there are a few things that you have to sign. Sign your first and last name unless they tell you otherwise!
My hiring experience is so stressful apparently my email orientation wasn’t correct so I went to what the email told me and they told me it wasn’t till Friday I didn’t get a time either for Friday orientation. I called 4-5 time no one picked up didn’t get a call back and I called once again and apparently I’m not in the system they asked if I did a interview (spoke to HR also the HR I spoke to was the one who interview me for the second interview) I did everything such as background check and etc so I’m not sure why they can’t schedule or find me to schedule me for a orientation anyone know the reason why
Thank you!!!!! I'm so nervous my interview is tomorrow morning !!!!! Your so beautiful by the way 😘❤️🖤
You're going to do amazing!!! Also, thank you so much!! :D
KingdomOfRachel thanks love ❤️
How soon after orientation did you have your training and start by yourself?
I started training about 2 days after orientation and I went solo about 2 hours into training.
this video was rlly helpful :-) i made a video on my target interview experience as well!
I interview soon and I am not sure what to wear. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Maybe some nice jeans with a pretty blouse. Like business casual!
you don't have to dress up too fancy but make sure you look presentable. I just wore a long top with leggings, some boots and a few long necklaces. Dress somewhat casual but do put effort in.
Were your interviews on the same day or does it depend on the store?
My interviews were on the same day with about 30 minutes between each one, but one of my friends also interviewed at the same Target and only got one at first because there weren't enough people to interview her. She came back on another day and did the second one. I think it just truly depends on who's working and who's avaliable.
Hi, I have my orientation tomorrow. Do you remember roughly how long your orientation took?
Paul I. My orientation was an hour or two. I can’t remember exactly.
do you remember how to do one for one batches? I’m on my own tomorrow and my trainer briefly explained
Never mind I ended up relearning it from my ETL and showed me exactly what to do
