    Love how simple and effective this video was. Drill Disk just came to the rescue for me, it was the only data recovery that could see the broken windows storage space pool, and it recovered the data! Cheers!

    Cool! I will definitely try this tool to recover data from my old RAID enclosure that I haven't been able to access for a long time.

    Raid recovery is a cool thing. especially after they calculated the cost of restoring from my old WD raid for almost two thousand bucks at a local recovery center. I'll try your drill :-)

      How did you do with the recovery? My WD PR4100 NAS stops working and wondering how I could recover this.

    this is a guide for a recovery software, titel is misleading.

    Thank you for explaining the RAID recovery process in a simple way!

    Sound simple but you've lost me when mounting the disk array. How do you mount the disks to your PC? Say I have 4 disks on a raid 5 config.

    I can't find the way to link a NAS remote array, there is not SSH or another way to do it ?

    Is it possible to recover the folder structure (that was on the RAID HDDs) as well?

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  Před rokem +2

      File names and folder structure are metadata that is especially vulnirable to ovewriting. To increase the recovery chances make sure to run the "All Recovery methods" scan on the whole drive. If you only run Deep Scan, the metadata is lost.

    Hi mate. I had a raid 0 on windows and one of the drives is starting to fail. When I opened up the partition manager I accidently pressed initialize disk is there an easy way to get my raid back.

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  Před 25 dny

      If you initialized a drive in a RAID 0 setup, stop using it immediately to avoid further data loss. Check if your RAID management software can rebuild the array. Use data recovery software like Disk Drill. Regular backups are essential to prevent data loss in the future.

    Nice, compact video.
    What kind of hardware would one use with a modern machine or windows pc to physically attach the disks to the machine running disk drill? ( in my case 4 hard drives)?

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  Před 7 měsíci

      Usually this can be acomplished with a RAID Controller Card.

    Sorry for my newbie question.. I have 4 1TB HDD from a server I cant power on. How can I connect and scan 4 drives at the same time when i connect it to a PC.. Should I buy sata enclosures for each and connect it via USB?

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  Před měsícem

      Yes, all drives should be connected simultaneously. Or you can use disk images of the drives if some drives are damaged and can't be scanned. In both configurations, Disk Drill should reconstruct the RAID and scan all 4 drives as a RAID array

    • @armand3917
      @armand3917 Před měsícem

      @cleverfiles This is worth a try. All my drives are good. It's just that the server suddenly wont turn on and I need a back up.. Will be setting up raid card on my pc to scan all 4 drives. Thanks for your help.

    Hi, I have a raid 1 (Two 1TB Disks) that was on a windows 7 computer, the computer died and it seems the raid had been corrupted, Can I put the two disk into a NAS bay and recover from there through a USB connection, I know it may be slower. Thanks Eero

    Didn't work for me since the pool itself was deleted and the application does not allow you to manually select the drives that were members of the pool for scan/recovery.

    What's the best approach for RAID 1 recovery without compromising data integrity? Any experienced users here

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  Před 9 měsíci

      You can try to recover RAIDs in Disk Drill. RAID recovery is supported to the extent of scanning individual RAID disks and recovering data on each of them.

  • @razhua
    @razhua Před 5 měsíci

    how about RAID 0 will this method work for that?

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  Před 5 měsíci

      Recovering data from a RAID 0 configuration can be more challenging compared to other RAID levels because of its striping nature. RAID 0 splits data across multiple disks without redundancy, which means there's no built-in fault tolerance. If one drive fails, data recovery becomes much more difficult because each disk contains only a portion of the data, making it impossible to reconstruct the complete dataset from any single disk. However, it is not all hopeless. Try scaning your drive with Disk Drill. If it finds your files with a full preview, you're good to proceed with recovery.

    Hello. My WD my cloud ex2 ultra raid 1 died. Can I use discdrill on 1 disk taken out of setup and scan and recover? Or do I have to connect the nas (whole) unit and try to recover from discdrill? Will the nas discs show up on discdrill once connected. Currently the nas shows 2 discs but no storage/data. Thanks

    Great video! Question: My RAID does not show up under 'RAID' in Disk Drill. Its a Thunderbay4 with softraid. Any ideas are welcome!

    • @cleverfiles

      Unfortunately, currently Disk Drill doesn't support RAIDs created in the SoftRAID utility.

    Hey thank you for this video! I have a problem with the files I recover from Raid0 throw disk drill: I did a full scan with the program and restore all the files to a different hard drive (paid for license) and mostly all of the files turn out corrupted and the vides are not able to be play. Is there something I can do to fix it?

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  Před rokem

      Every recovery case is unique and depends on thousands of parameters. The only way to verify that your files are recoverable is downloading Disk Drill Basic, running the scan on the whole drive (not just volume or partition) without interruptions, locating the files in question, and previewing them to verify the content. Disk Drill PRO will recover the files that can be correctly previewed in Disk Drill Basic.

    Total BS, didn't work! It will scan your files but then make you pay to get any of them back. I did pay and it still didn't recover them. It claimed to recover the files but when you tried to run them as they were of unsupported file type. The metadata was accurate but none of the files were recovered. Don't waste your money because you won't get it back when you ask for it and tell them that their software doesn't work.
