Add to that having a single (literal) steering wheel, which is a bicycle wheel, and that it is being steered with literal handle on a fist-sized reel. Brakes also a joke, but hey, at least you can't lock 'em.
On the other hand, this is the motor racing expirience in a nutshell for a long time, and in some aspect to this day - driving some stuff way too fast to the point where it can kill you in a single unpredictable snap.
But I would still rather do 300kph in cockpit with no modern safety devices than 80kph on a bench with three bicycle wheels mounted to it

The Nordschleife is 20.82km long and Jimmy lapped it in 82 minutes, so his average speed was aproximately 15.24kph.
For reference the Olympic Marathon record's average speed is a little over 20kph.

Fun fact: The Motorwagen could achieve around 25 mpg (10l/100km) fuel efficiency which means that it would have enough fuel in its 1 gallon (4.5l) fuel tank to do two laps around the Nordschleife depending on which kind of lap you do.
Also, the lap time of around 82 minutes is about the same per-mile pace as a marathon runner in a 10k. A 10k is about half as long as the Nordschleife so when you account for the fact that a human would run this at more than twice the time it would take to run half of it due to cumulative exhaustion, it's still faster than going on foot (if you assume the vehicle has no mechanical failures the entire time). I think therein is the benefit of the vehicle. Running or riding a bike over very long distances is going to tire out the person more than occasionally having to stop and make repairs. It's not something you'd drive back and forth to the neighbor's house down the street, but if you had to go many miles, you might want to have one of these. That's what early cars were mainly for, and you weren't just a driver when you had one, you also had to be a mechanic as they needed constant tweaking and repairs by the driver.
