    I needed that. I keep thinking I'm not right with God praying that I will do better only to rediscover just the very act I am yearning to do things right because I Believe in Jesus is the answer. Thank you for this answer from a sound teaching.

      In recent decades, scholars have researched what pi'stis meant in the social context of the New Testament writers. Several scholars who have studied the usage of pi'stis in both early Greek manuscripts and the New Testament have concluded that 'faithfulness' is the most satisfactory English translation in many instances.[9][10] This recent research has prompted some to argue that New Testament faith and belief in Jesus should be understood in terms of faithfulness, loyalty, and commitment to him and his teachings, rather than in terms of belief, trust and reliance.[11]

    TELL US AGAIN
    Tell us again
    about justification by faith alone,
    for we are no different than Israel of old.
    Each week we face Jordans and giants
    as our memory dims - our faith grows cold -
    and then we think we need to help
    the Creator of all along;
    as did Abram with Hagar.
    We are blind, forgetful and wrong.
    Tell us again
    how a work and an idol can slip,
    like a snake, in our adamic way.
    We try to placate the impeccable
    with some pitiful act or trite words we say;
    when it's actually a contrite heart we need
    to be humble in spirit and groan -
    for his blood was and is all sufficient.
    Tell us again
    about justification by faith alone.

    Anyone who believes in faith a loan is on borrowed time (James 2:24; Matthew 18:21-35)

      The seeming contradiction in James is not disagreement with J.P. James is a primarily horizontal teaching.. (that is man to man) if you have "faith" that saves it produces a response of fruit
      But faith is the produce..work is the product
      As far as Matthew.. forgiveness is a product of a changed heart through faith alone by grace alone through Christ Alone for God's Glory Alone described in the Scripture Alone brother

      Matthew 18 is talking about believers forgiving each 2 believers the first Was forgiven and forgiveness never gets taken away it’s saying because the Lord Has Been so gracious to forgive you all your sins against him your expected and required to forgive all others especially other believers otherwise the Lord will discipline you text say he was handed over to the torturers not the executioners And in James faith without works is dead indeed you must have saving faith which is a repentant faith one that turns from sin. One who doesn’t work Out their salvation which God has worked in them hasn’t been saved. Once truly forgiven salvation produces good works and killing of sin it’s not the means of salvation but the evidence of it. See MacArthurs commentary on Matthew 16-23 for in depth explanation on this.
      All who are saved kill sin and do good works out of undying gratitude knowing they could have never done anything to deserve it. Paul was persecuting even killing Christians doing no good deeds then the lord saved him by believing. The theif on the cross didn’t even have opportunity to do any works died a few hours later went straight to heaven after living a life of thievery and most likely murder. Galatians 4 shows the difference come to mount Moriah on judgement day and receive mercy and grace thru faith but go to mount Sinai and you’ll be obliterated those who touch it are executed. Plz come out of this herictical thought study more and you’ll see if your truly seeking His kingdom and his righteousness ask him to make it known to you and He will Not lead you into error

      how do you read acts 15 or even Galatians ch 1-2 as well as many others and not comprehend it’s by faith alone . yes i will “work” based on my obligation and what i know . but by no means does it save me .

      @DwhosMTB it's a simple math problem.. Faith makes one word into a two word solution
      Faith transforms "Responsibility" into "Response" + "Ability".. without faith it is impossible to please Him.. it changes our motives from wages to graces

    Are you saying justified by God-given faith?
