My most used camera is an Olympus E-M5 Mark 2 and I honestly can't imagine needing more. It does everything I need it to do and I'm sure it does many things I don't even know about. I used it this past weekend during a trip to Philly and was amazed again at it's ability to shoot hand held at low shutter speeds in very little light. It's aesthetically pleasing to me and just a joy to use in every sense. My "if I just want to grab one camera and go" camera is a Canon G7X Mark 2 which takes very nice images and is pocket sized. I don't know if it does anything better than my wife's phone (one of the new google whatevers), but I enjoy it just the same. I feel about film photography much the same way I feel about vinyl records - lived through it and don't really want to go back. I have an old OM-2n from when I was a teenager that I still use on occasion - it's a lovely piece of kit and is good for a drive down Nostalgia Lane - but not much more for me.

The joy of photography - no one on You Tube explains it or illustrates it more than Craig. His videos are always about using cameras and lenses creatively never about equipment per se. Constantly inspiring. My everyday camera? A Fuji XE4 plus 23mm lens.

Hi Craig! My only camera is my Nikon D7000. It is a bit of a beast! You know when you've been carrying it or had it around your neck for a few hours! But I do genuinely love it. I've always wanted something a bit smaller and lighter though. Something I could just slip into a coat pocket. It's just affording it! You know how expensive photography can get!

For may daily walks my camera of choice has become my Olympus EM1 mk i with 3 manual lenes - the cheap and good TT Artisian 25mm F2.0, the OM vintage lens 50mm F1.8, and the OM vintage lens 135mm F3.5, this fits nicely into a small messanger bag and I love the finish look from the vintage lens, even when my focus is a little off. My true jeans pocket carry, is the Olympus TG-5 (it rains here alot and soon it will be - 25 C with snow :) . Another great video, cheers from central Ontario Canada.

The camera and lenes I can't do without are my trusty Canon 70D and every time I go out even if its to the local shop I take my Canon 50mm F1.8 or my Canon 24mm F2.8 pancake lens. I really love shallow depth of field and very dark black and white. For me I get a real kick out of taking black and white images of the most mundane of things. I have other lenes but these two are my go to.

    I use a Nikon D780 with a 50mm most of the time, and when I want all options I get a 35mm and a 85mm.
Not so small but get easily in any messenger bag. Very light thanks to the plastic built, also robust and quite resistant to rain.

My Olympus Pen FV from the '60s is my EDC at the moment. The 38mm f/1.8 is a lovely lens. It's a little heavy, and half frame (so it takes forever to finish a roll). It does go with me everywhere lately. if we're having a day out, and my other half has been lacking some nice dog photos (for the socials), I'll take my Oly EM5.

Great thoughts again. I guess it‘s also about dedicated photography (and the nyes, an Olympus or two) but on travel documentary and „opportunistic“ shots the iPhone does great.
2 weeks, 3 cities in Canada and 90% of the shots the iPhone did very well. Plus being so light, unobtrusive and still flexible enough.

You’ve got a really nice lineup. Original EM10 is my EDC alongside the EM1 mark II (too big for EDC IMO). For film I like the Canonet QL17 and also pleasantly surprised by Canon Sure Shot Tele 80. Have a Fujica Half on the way in the mail so I’m excited. Also have Canon EF Black Beauty, and adding Minolta SRT 101 along with original Olympus OM1 35mm film SLR’s.

For me it's the Sony A7c with the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 for family and travel photos. I might add a prime or two depending on the occasion. However, for "slow" shooting I enjoy the Canon RP with old manual Konica primes: 28mm f3.5, 40mm f1.8, 135mm f3.5. The rendering and microcontrast especially of the 28 and 40 are absolutely beautiful.

Unless I'm going to need a high ISO, I no longer take a dedicated camera with me when heading out. I've always liked the image's from my phone, but since finding RAW on my Huawei P30 Pro I just don't need to take a camera with me anymore. I can use all 3 of the phones lenses in RAW and I always use manual mode. I get 79mb files that are filled with information. Once edited, the files are good enough to be printed. I have some 16in x 10in and some 12in x 12in and they look superb. I also love the fimic look to the images. I don't know if it's down to the slightly different arrangement of the bayer filter (normally you get RGGB, the P30 is RYYB). It just produces a lovely, slightly warmer look and reds, oranges etc come off really nicely.
I've still got my various cameras and I use them for dedicated shoots, but for every day, I'm sorted.

The only limitation it has is the Movie mode apart from that it produces great image quality. Great point you made when you said the camera you use should be user friendly and most importantly enjoyable to use, and my Nikon D3100 is user friendly and very enjoyable to use.
