Margaret Mitchell wrote the novel that would soon become one of Hollywood's most epic creations known around the world. The movie was filmed and released in the late 1930s and would premiere in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Loew's Grand Theater. Gone With the Wind starred Vivien Leigh, as Scarlett O'Hara, Clark Gable as Rhett Butler, Olivia De Havilland, as Melanie Wilkes and other well known Hollywood actors at that time. The movie follows Scarlett O'Hara through the Civil War, the daughter of a "Plantation Owner," whose fairytale lifestyle would soon change as General Sherman rages through Atlanta, burning everything in his path.
