Lake Lanier is located in Northern Georgia and attracts millions of visitors each year. However, unbeknownst to many, this man-made lake harbors a sinister past, having claimed the lives of approximately 700 people and counting, the history of Lake Lanier goes back to the Creek and Cherokee Indians who inhabitanted this area and buried their dead here. Later, a mainly black town, by the name of "Oscarville," was very successful. After a white woman was found raped.and murdered, the town sent out "Nightriders" to run the black community out of Oscarville. Many suspects were hung in the town square. This gives reason to believe that Lake Labier may indeed be cursed or haunted...
With an estimated death toll of over 700 since its creation in 1956, Lake Lanier stands as one of the deadliest bodies of water in the United States.
