In this video, we discuss how to transition from using DeepFreeze, and use just PowerShell and GPOs. PowerShell is used to clean up user profiles, remove any additional files, and trim the SSD. Software Restrictions is used to monitor which executables are actually ran. Moving away from DeepFreeze is helpful when it comes down to updating software, updating the OS, modifying GPOs, or changing any other settings. We've been doing this for two years now, and haven't had any complaints.
One thing that I did not mention in the video, user education is extremely important when making major changes like this.
