@@neminem233 strive had hella instability issues back in the day, so people used council of three cuz it didn't crash the game
after a while it became sort iconic, and now people use it out of habit/recognition
it looks cool too

There aren't many tips to give besides to get in, hit the lab, and then try to learn from experience.
Be sure to take a look at some guides and watch some matches from time to time to see what people commonly do!

Nothing practical but remember that it does take a while to do learn. It took me like 10 hours to be halfway decent,so don’t fret when you can’t land a hit an entire match when starting out
Don’t care too much about who’s beginner friendly, be ESPECIALLY who’s top tier, pick who you think is most interesting, visually, personality wise or otherwise.
Also, do the missions, they’re really good in both increasing reactions and learning the game
Lastly, try not to listen to anything aside from the game during the match. Humans react faster to audio than visual cues oddly enough.

Honestly pick a character you think is cool and try pressing some buttons and moving around, try not to focus on getting good at first since its going to take time for different concepts to register. Have fun and dont play for too long without taking breaks. If you run into something you dont know how to deal with, stop what your doing and go to training to figure it out. Look up info and watch vids. Learning fighting games is just as much about overcoming yourself as it is beating others.
