OOPS the corner's magnet adjustment actually changes how strong the INNER magnet is. As for the corner to edge magnets, it looks like there's no way to adjust that. Thank you to those in the comments who pointed this out!

This cube kinda brings that old misconceptions about magnet cubes when they were first introduced in 2016 or sth. People thought that magnets will complete the turn by itself. Now the Gan 12 pretty much brought us back in a full circle.

I bought the $35 mystery cube one month ago and got the GAN 11M pro 😅
I promised myself I wouldn't buy a gan cube before I get a sub 20 solve. I started cubing 6 months ago, I went from a MoYu rs3m 2020 straight to a gan 11m pro, so I'm extremely happy with the cube I got 😁

I wished I saw your video earlier. I had no idea the difference between Leap and Maglev and I just went for the most expensive one. It just came in today and I agree the feeling is very different from my old gan xs. And the customization on it is crazy. I tightened it a bit more from default setting and still felt the lack of friction when turning it.
And now I have ntn to blame for my slow times but myself. smh

As someone with essential tremors, I feel like the gan 12 maglev would really help me improve my solve times a lot. I'm gonna have to get it and give it a try!

@@dapperfist for me, i think when the magnets are YOOO!! TOO STRONG! you would lock up alot when you're not used to a strong magent cube

Yes! Now I can actually scramble and do random turns on my GAN 2x2 whenever it arrives unlike my 3x3 Rubik’s cube that I haven’t been able to solve in a year because I suck at solving cubes due to the auto-turn
I'm pretty sure that in the GAN 11m Pro, the magnet setting that you use the screwdriver for actually changes how close the corner-core magnets are to each other. If you press the corner magnet stalk inward, then it actually slides the magnet adjustment setting to the weaker setting.

The auto-alignment is amazing, especially for harder single finger pushes. I find my U perms to be very consistent in the Gan 12 Maglev.
Idk how I feel about the magnets taking over most of the turns.
My friend has a Gan 12. He didnt use it cuz the turning was stiff. But when I used it I just broke the stiffness and it became smooth like butter and now it's the best cube I've ever seen

Hey, I found out that the gan 11 m pro does tell you what magnet strength the corner magnets have. Just look at the outside of the white box where you store your extra core magnets and you will find a small indicator.
It takes me a couple of minutes to solve my cube, so I've never researched what comp cubes do. I had no idea and your video explained a lot. I can't flick any face to spin on my cube and always wondered how other people could. I do wonder though why shiny would have more friction than frosted. You'd think it would be the other way around.
I don’t know if I’ve interpreted your question correctly, but JPerm is talking about friction between the cube and your hands*, so the glossy surface has more friction, like running your hand along glass, whereas the frosted doesn’t stick to your hand as much, so it has less friction.

GAN truly is the Apple of Rubik's cubes. Super pricey, but their products are engineering marvels and they are pioneers of the industry.
I don't like Apple as a company that much but I gotta acknowledge that some of their stuff is super cool 👌🏻

Good point, but doesnt it also increae the probability of you making a turn lightly but it retracts and that adds a bit more time to your solve?

the magnet adjusts the corner/core magnets, and the corner/core magnet strength was written on the gan 11 magnet box.
I think I invented new method:
So first you build 2 blocks like in Roux, then orient and solve DF and DB slots with M and U moves. Finally do last layer's whatever alg you like: ZBLL, usual OLL and PLL, COLL and etc.

Mine is like roux but I change the LSE. Insert the DB edge, EO, Insert DF with M' U2 M, and EPLL. I call it Danoux :)

My jelly cube just arrived and it feels so good. I can do r u r' u very fast. Faster than I expect from the cube, faster than I except from myself. It also has a spring system that I never excepted. This is me with my jelly cube. I had to deal with those 1 dollar cubes before.
As much as some people hate gan prices they do like to innovate in the community. For example trying out hex shapes on the inside of their budget cube.
