I was building a bar stool racer but changed it to a lawn tractor kart because of the lower center of gravity. I got a torque converter & I'm anxious to see how well it works. Thanks for the tutorial.
Good job ... All I gotta say is get rid of the music.. I felt like your were sending off to a commercial the whole time.. only use music on the intro.. other than that 🤘🤘🤘
there is a reason those converters comes with multi holes so you can move up or down it dosen't have to be in the center holes, unless its hitting the engine your making overly complicated
Yeah they work well. If you wanted you could get springs to lower the engagement RPM. I run a yellow spring in the driven in the tightest hole on my minibike. Under full throttle it keeps the RPM higher before the belt shift.
I thought you could adjust the driven by the amount of torque on the nut. On another video they said that was the adjustment. That's why there was NO torque specs for that nut!
Great job. I wish there were torque converters and Amazon when I was a kid. Did you consider using 4 quarter inch spacers (or a few flat washers) to give your sprocket bolts clearance instead of plywood which could shrink or mold over time? Great job, anyway. Nice shop too. Did your dad hand you a rake (after yelling at you) to smooth your donut tracks in the driveway of garage?
I don’t really know where that hub came from because it was on the go kart when I got it. But if you need a new hub you can buy them off of Amazon, just make sure that they are for the right diameter axle.
I'd never work with cvt because there are much terrible critics from problems with screw, bolts, explosions of The clutches, etc... Would some one give a comment about it?
The cheap Chinese ones work great and every component is available individually if it ever breaks. Just keep in mind the more you pay the better quality. I bought the cheapest one I could find then replaced the mounting plate with a reinforced stainless steel one.

Love that kart man that's a cool frame.
I haven't seen a center mount engine like that before.
Great job on install, gave me so great ideas for mine i just order!!
Thanks

Thanks bud, I am absolutely putting one on as well :) good video!
this video really helped me understand the prosses thanks
Great video keep up the good work
awesome kart.God bless.

Could you explain this a little further please 😊

@@TF856 Never heard of that and it's certainly not in any Comet documentation.
Nice job Kidd !

Could you clock the plate up for clearance? Instead of plywood. Glad you got it fixed
No, because the jack shaft for the driven pulley sticks out on the back side a couple inches. and it would hit the engine.
@@ikesgarage05 I understand. Once I used a 2x6
@@mountainmike1685 yeah whatever works
Thought this was cars and cameras ike LOL.
Turn the music down please I can barely hear what you’re saying. Otherwise nice video.
Did u try clocking the torque converter to the last set of mounting holes to clear the axle sprocket?
No because the back side of the mounting plate has supports for the jack shaft and it would be in the way of the engine
Would be better if you didn't have any music so I can hear what you are saying better
Sorry, I am still trying to figure out how to do good editing.
That system is exactly what they put in new cvt transmissions
it is a cvt transmission
Dude where did you get that sprocket? I have the same sprocket hun but can’t find replacement sprocket for it

Go Power Sports can probably hook you upp... they sell all kind of parts for go-karts and mini bikes
Nice job👍 Looks like the suspension could be the next upgrade. Kind of bumpy conditions.
Yeah there is no suspension on it.
@@ikesgarage05 cool video brother 😎
Bigger tires makes it go better over a rocky road
@@michaelmays9292 True, he would lose some acceleration with that though…
Nice. The TC holds speed better in the corners than the C.Clutch by what I’m seeing on your videos. Informative AF 🎉🎉🎉 also, what’s the new top speed?
I’ve got it to go up to 51mph on a straight road going down hill, sketchy AF
@@ikesgarage05 I can imagine😂 fun for days
Nice job, what's the top speed you get from this?
About 30mph is the top speed.
great job, how many teeth has you sproket?
I wonder if anyone sells a replacement bronze bushing?
Yep you could buy them on eBay or Amazon for about $10 a piece
Do you tighten the bottom tourque converter as tight as you can or noy
Just till it is snug, no need to overdo it.
where did you buy the converter from?
The Amazon TC haves many common problems, no matter The seller... That's why y did not work with it yet...
man you got blew eyes!
I'd never work with cvt because there are much terrible critics from problems with screw, bolts, explosions of The clutches, etc... Would some one give a comment about it?
When your dad got home did he kick your butt from messing up the driveway? Good job on the video
No, but he made me clean it up. 😁
Y not just tilt the torque converter?
Where can I buy a new torq a verter?
I bought this one off of Amazon.

Ebay has them to. I just ordered one.
I don't believe torq converter would be the correct name for it either a torq converter is a fluid coupling
That is what I thought, that they are called CVTs. But they are all sold as “torque converters” online.
Nice Job, Now you need to step up to a larger cart ,
Now rake that driveway !
Holy fuck its slim jesus
You don’t need to put that wood in there you could just use some washers
fait nous voir tes talent pour voir ci tu peut fabriquer toi méme tes propre pieces !!!!
Has your belt broke yet
It just broke a couple weeks ago, so it lasted about 9 months. You can buy replacement belts on Amazon for cheap though.
Why don't you turn off the irrigating radio so we can hear you talk!!!
Why is the music so loud, it's very distracting. I wanted to watch the whole vid. Annoying music drove me away.

@@nicki8731 I am not 100% sure but I believe it is a 6.5 Horse
@@ikesgarage05 thanks for the quick reply! How's the top speed affected? The acceleration definitely improved :D
@@nicki8731 I haven’t really tested the top speed yet but from what I heard it should be slower by a little bit.
