Well I bought this game back in 2007, and I really fell in love with it despite the EXTREMELY slow pace of the game. Loved the ending. I was certain this game was going to be a hidden gem but it seems that its still a very cheap game to get. I'm glad.

I really hope that we will get an English release sooner rather than later. Fact of the matter is I will not play this remaster unless it gets an English release because I can't understand Japanese. I am a big fan of Vanillaware and their art. It's nice to see that they are not sticking everything exclusively on Sony consoles too, it's always good when more people get to enjoy these games.
Also, great vid. I liked it. This is quality content. It was a good review of a niche game that showed off the purchase and the comparisons. All reviews ever really need was if it was enjoyable or not. I never understood putting 8.5/10 on things.

I had heard this was getting a remaster. Looks nice. These sorts of games looked amazing back on PS2 so seeing them all cleaned up to HD is lovely. Hopefully Grimgrimoire get a release outside Japan. I assume it will cos they're pretty good at actually doing that these days.

Maybe you'd like the idea of an RTS on the Switch or PS4? Plays all right, but of course I'd prefer mouse support. Hell, even touch screen would be pretty good with a stylus. I still have my PS2 copy and did manage to complete it. Wonderful and also dark story. I'll definitely get this again if they release it for the west although I'm a big enough Vanillaware fan that I'll probably end up picking up the special edition to get that fabulous wall scroll. I'd love a huge Vanillaware art book that covers all their games.
Excellent! I have seen some people sell just the scroll online, might be worth it to just track that by itself since this set is now sold out. I would LOVE a huge Vanillaware artbook that even shows Princess Crown and the cancelled DC sequel art!
I'm sorry to say it's delayed until the end of the year. I completely upgraded my computer hardware and software, have been having trouble getting everything to work, but it should be worth it in the end.
I love this company. Odin sphere is awesome. This game is also great. Loved it. Made sure to get the ps2 version. If switch has english language, i need to rebuy it.

I'll be getting it once it comes to US shores. NISA has been really good about actually releasing games lately and is even doing a PS4 localization of the PS2 japan only title Kamiwaza Way of the Thief, even giving it a number of physical release SKUs. NISA seems to have turned around their image significantly from the past decade, so I'm hopeful this will come to the US.
I didn't even notice there was a port of Kamiwaza here in Japan--hope you get the GrimGrimoire remaster soon in English, surely it will be out in the coming months.

I've been selling off a lot of my collection, cutting everything at least by half is the goal! What part of Japan are you in? I got that shelf from Nitori, I'm sure you know about that place. Pretty cheap, sturdy furniture, and lots of white shelving options!
I tried the original game and was disappointed with that every level ive played so far was a tutorial. Do they eventually stop with the handholding and trying to teach you things and just let you play the game?

NIS America has announced it's release on Switch, PS4 and PS5 in Spring 2023, which does include a version of the wall scroll.

Japan-only for now, but I think it will get released abroad at some point in the near future. Hoping for a physical release like this one, of course!

I can't tell you for sure, but I imagine that the PS4 version is at least 1080p, while the Switch is limited to 720p.
