wow had no idea Seaman had so many different releases! I knew about the original and the PS2 version, but the other variants are new to me! and not to mention two different special dreamcasts... I dig the red one! looking forward to part 2, though.

Dreamcast, the most innovative console of all time! I mean on which console you could talk to a "game" about life and stuff? Leonard Nemoy being the Western voice actor just fit so perfectly. It's quite insane how many original and groundbraking games Sega alone released in those 3 years. Not to mention all the third parties that did a tremendous job as well. Looking at you SoulCalibur, PowerStone, BorderDown etc. DC was pure gaming, pure intention, no strings attached:)

modern Japan is in a bit of a state, their only hope now is more Seaman.

so cool that you've just uploaded this. i'm about three weeks into my first habitat. the game amazes me almost every session.

Quick story to share: My family used to run a local video game store. When I was around 8-10 years old, I was reading video game magazines and would try to help my family find trends of new games for us to order. The Dreamcast had been fairly popular at this time, the titles were selling well for our shop and I had read about Seaman. I thought the concept was really unique, so I convinced my family to make a fairly large order of them. Literally ALL OF THEM sat on the shelf, never touched or looked at. Not a single purchase, even newly boxed at $5. I got my own copy that I took home and still got unresolved trauma from watching the breeding sequence. TLDR; Never actually listen to kids.

Great video. I have a sealed Xenogears Fei set I bought in 2000. Was always surprised with the lack of footage/coverage these collections have received. Not even many photos existed of them just ten years ago.

I remember my mom told me that she remembers this game because my mom used to work at a toys R us! She saw it displayed on the Dreamcast section at the store!

Evening Jimmy how are you mate? I loved the Dreamcast which was one of my favorite Sega systems ever made! I'm hoping Sega will make a Dreamcast mini someday! I've never played Seaman but I did play Shenmue, Capcom vs. SNK & others.

Just wanted to say that the Christmas Seaman Dreamcast Console is my Holy Grail console. Yes there is one more console even rarer, however that red stuck out to me. Unfortunately the price is too high and I don't think it's coming down any time soon.

ender lilies!! my personal favorite detail is how the spirits perform actions for lily! it's nothing major, but i enjoy it all the same -- i'm a sucker for character analysis (the characters make the story after all), but there's not many scenes in the game where you see first hand how a character acts and reacts outside of battle (and there's only so much you can learn through the findings you get), so having this one thing to work off of for interpretations of the characters' personalities and their relationships with each other make me appreciate the game even more! like -- the way lily hangs off of one of julius' arms while he dashes? as if he's never learned how to handle a child properly? or how umbral knight moves forward slightly when he attacks? while lily stays in the back? that kind of thing?

In japan say soccer and not futbol? Anyways, i never knew there was a strategic parodious game ..

This is so cool, i own Translated copies of Tengai Makyou Zero and Oriental Blue. I also own the Japanese release of Tengai Makyou 4 on Saturn. This series is so awsome, its such a shame we never got official localizations of any of the games in the west
