Hi, it’s an old house built of stone 😀. Unfortunately the history of French houses are not always recorded, even in the official sales documents it will just be recorded if the house is pre or post the 1950’s, so sometimes we don’t have any history available to us. 👍

In Canada, that ladder staircase would be utterly illegal. The insurance company would expect that there would be a railing.
Good afternoon, health and safety in France is a bit more of an optional extra. 😂🇫🇷
luckily it is not in Canada. The North American area is a lawyers paradise and over regulated. I guess because the people have stopped using their brain to evaluate risks and precautions. I am from a generation where we still grew up and learned from mistakes and if we hurt ourselves, we learned from it and it prevented us from the next stupid mistakes. Today it is all about lawsuits and over regulations. Lived in Canada and the US and I am happy I don't have to anymore! Viva la France.

Not to be critical, but just wondering that since there is plenty of land why they built such a tiny cottage. With steep narrows stairs to the bedroom, it immediately cancels out all older buyers. Thanks for putting up the video.

As with a lot of cottages of this style they were originally farm workers cottages, so had nearly no land, it is only after time and with the farms being sold off and the land split that each cottage now sits within a larger plot. Hence why sometimes the land seems disproportionate to the size of the house... have a lovely day, stay safe 😀🇫🇷👍

For me this cottage needs a little work , but not much . The ladder in the kitchen needs to go ! and a new kitchen put in but nothing super modern it wouldn’t be in keeping with the age of the property . Bathroom also needs work . But this is a sweet little place 👍🏻 very pretty 🌹

@@propertyforsaleinfrance You're welcome. The cottage is rustic and very charming. You might add some cabinetry in the kitchen, maybe above the side- table (you could put a portable washer/dryer under,, perhaps), but it has the lovely French window out onto a patio area. In the downstairs bedroom you could add a small wardrobe beside the bed, one like in the smaller bedroom. And for the "attic" stairs, you could save money by adding a back panel to each stair, as in the larger staircase, and a handrail. (No need to spend so much money.) Kids would love the stairs. The absolute best thing about the cottage, imo, is that there is room in the paddock or field for a horse! You might need to add a shed big enough for a horse to stay on cold days, if there are any, and with room for some tack, hay and feed, separated from the stall. Lovely! 🤩

Beautiful countryside, charming cottage, but what’s the plumbing, electricity, whole house heating like? The frig in the kitchen is tony. How far away are amenities such as shopping, services, etc. Hospitals/doctors nearby? Is the structure sound? All looks beautiful, but one must look behind the scenes.

Beautiful home. Love that the neighbors are just far enough away for privacy but close enough for help. Glad that the yard is fenced in as well. Where would you do laundry? How old is this home?
Good evening, it is sometimes very difficult to age a house in France, as they tend not to be exactly dated even when the reports on the houses are completed, being classed as before or after 1956. This house is considered to be pre 1956. Thanks for watching 😀
