+MOLE What Ms Nichols said was truly genuine and real! And that is what separates the original series from all the banal sequels. I read many decades ago when I was at University of Florida studying for electronics and aerospace engineering (BSEE) that the actors would get so wrapped up in their roles and scenes that they actually thought that they were on a starship in interstellar space. One classic instance was where James Doohan (Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott) was instructed by a director in one scene to move a lever a certain way on the transporter unit and Doohan refused. When the director on the set told Doohan that the lever was nothing more than a studio prop and wasn't real, Doohan still refused to do it the director's way saying it was incorrect and the scene wasn't filmed until Doohan was allowed to move the transporter lever the proper way! In a way, Doohan believed that the whole thing was real. A lot of the original Star Trek series is very believable and would most probably resemble "real life" on a military space vessel. I NEVER got that feeling with TNG and all of its melodramatic theatrics.

This and Star Trek Continues are the two highest quality fan-made series on the internet, but if I had to put one above the other I'd say that Continues just eeks out ahead of this one. That being said, Vic Mignogna (who plays Captain Kirk on Star Trek Continues) appreciates this show as much as they appreciate his.
Star Trek Continues produced 11 episodes in total, with the last being delivered just a few weeks ago. Due to CBS/Paramount rules, there will be no more. :(
    - Episode 1: czcams.com/video/3G-ziTBAkbQ/video.html
    - Episode 2: czcams.com/video/4mOpmIFTxkE/video.html

    - Episode 6: czcams.com/video/uSFHGyLYQ-c/video.html
    - Episode 7: czcams.com/video/yMasSzFXaKQ/video.html
    - Episode 8: czcams.com/video/GQeO5uuUbH4/video.html
    - Episode 9: czcams.com/video/3VEZH8bqytA/video.html (John DeLancie!)
    - Episode 10: czcams.com/video/eCBuaTnDsQs/video.html (Part 1 of final episode)
    - Episode 11: czcams.com/video/29L8P1XwnaA/video.html (Part 2 of final episode)
The ending of episode 11 ties nicely into Star Trek The Motion Picture, explaining how and why Kirk had a desk job, why Spock was on Vulcan trying to "find himself" and why Bones had quit altogether. Nicely done!

"Star Trek" WAS a "liberal" / "left" / "progressive" show in that it was "ideal" (or sought to be so), (super-) "normal" and "the way things SHOULD be", rather than ridiculous, asinine, ignorant "conservative" / "right" CRAP that we are weighed down with WAY TOO MUCH these days, and it is now so much worse than it has EVER been. We have "NEVER" been farther from "Star Trek" than we are now as an "advanced" society, culture, and civilization. (except for the select, 'rare' few who are the standard bearers and people who keep things on an even keel, more or less, and moving forward into a BRIGHT future, which is about 10% to 20% of the population)
ALL of the "bad guys" in "Star Trek" could EASILY be Once-GOP RepCons (or 'Libertarians' aka Psychotic Republicans), because that is the Truth and Reality of who and what these people are and choose to be. (that is, people who are (overly) egocentric, anthropocentric, arrogant, selfish, self-absorbed, self-interested, greedy, 'hateful', indecent, uncaring, lacking in compassion and empathy, with tendencies toward violence in all of its forms, and sociopaths of various levels and degrees and manners, etc....)
"Star Trek" is ALSO COMPLETELY ANTI-religious in nature. Although it is semi-spiritual in nature, especially if you consider "good things" spiritual in nature, such as goodness, kindness, caring, compassion, empathy, non-violence and pacifism, and the like. "Religion" ALWAYS causes problems, and is contraindicated. (because it is COMPLETELY IRRATIONAL (and fictional and fantasy-based) in nature, which is anathema to the rational, intelligent, learned, knowledgeable, thinking, objective, open-minded, reality-based person)
