Rest easy Jay. From one Delawarean to another, it was a great honor and even greater blessing being able to watch and follow you and Mark from the very beginning! Thank you so much for loving the squared circle, always showing appreciation and gratitude towards the business and history of. Folks, his little girls need all the prayers we can give them. His youngest went in for surgery on her back this morning in hopes of being able to help her walk again. Can you imagine? One hour you're at cheer leading practice with your precious daughters and the next you're dead, and your daughters are in critical condition. God the Pugh family need you working overtime on this one. Such a horrible tragedy. We love you Jay! Praying for your baby girls, your son, your wife, and your entire family!

FTR is wrestling 101, most definitely. On the flip side, the Briscoes are the epitome of legitimate suspended disbelief. It makes total sense why these are the two best tag teams in wrestling right now.
The thing about the Briscoes not being on television makes less sense now, considering they played clips of the match on Dynamite. That, along with the spotty moral compass of Warner/Discovery, not just for letting Tyson on television (even though that happened decades ago) but for keeping someone like Ezra Miller around to sell a movie after he pretty much went on a crime spree.

Apart from a couple of CZcams videos, these teams have done all the work themselves to make this feud great. TK deserves no credit for this trio of fantastic matches, other than supplying a ring to fight in

Honestly I think the no DQ has more to do w The Elite establishing their dominance over Death Triangle seeing how DT only beat TE by cheating now TE will prove that they are better by beating DT at their own game. I was hoping DT could have gotten atleast 1 clean win on TE but doesn't look itll happen.

I love that my 2 favourite tag teams being The Usos and FTR have been on fire this year so much so that Uncle Dave will make a trios award just to make sure that the Elite get an award cause there's no way the young bucks and their luchador friends are tag team of the year...

FTR carried The Acclaimed in a great main event on Wednesday, then went to PPV and had the best dog collar match this world has ever seen. I love watching everything they do, but here is a sad fact - it sucks to be great in a such dark time for pro wrestling. I feel like there is no place where FTR and Briscoes will get truly appreciated(and rewarded) for contributions to the company they work for.

You're exactly right. So sad FTR isn't the top team in the world. Acknowledged and appreciated. They should be on the usos spot. Undisputed tag Champs with multiple segments of every smackdown focusing on them. If only they were in the attitude Era.
And The Evp children gets 20 minute matches every week on Dynamite and all they do is run off 150-250k viewers. They opened this week's Dynamite and I'm like screw it, fast forward.

The one guy they liked was x pac and hes not there. Road dogg is in the office and they hated him and dax got in the twitter argument with him. So it's kind if awkward to think they'd be main eventing there
As soon as cash pulled mark off the turnbuckle onto the chairs I instantly thought "Mark is going to use the chain to stop cash from breaking up the Pin". I was half right, but what matters is that they were able to stretch that all the way to the finish without making it look contrived is why they are all the best
Also the ref spot was great because since it's no DQ it only serve to really put over the danger of the match especially cuz the ref was bleeding
The ref did a MUCH better job blading than Jericho ever does! He needs to train the AEW talent.
It sucks so much that assholes, shitty bookers, egos, etc. hold back such amazing teams. You have (arguably) THE best teams doing this; a throwback to the era when tagteams were taken seriously, and these guys outwork everyone but get buried by politics. It's fucking sad. When I see these guys, it makes me think of the days of Hart Foundation, Demolition, British Bulldogs, Killer Bees, the Rockers, etc were making the titles seem just as vital in their division as it was to hold the world title. We're in the era of "everyone deserves a trophy!", where there are 25 titles, and none of them mean anything. One thing they did that I thought was great is that they took out and set up a table but it never got broken, instead Cash did that wild chair spot to Mark on the outside. Such a brilliant match, and was so "real". THIS IS HOW YOU USE WEAPONS! THERE IS A PURPOSE AND IT'S COMPLETELY JUSTIFIED!! LOGIC, PEOPLE.
Yeah the table being set up and the guy who set up the table being put through the table is such a tired trope. Setting up a table and not getting around to using it occasionally is much more realistic and less predictable.
They set it up in response to the crowd Chanting we want tables. Was even cleverer than that.

Briscoes always deliver great matches. They are legit probably one of the best tag teams ever. The ladder war, Briscoes vs Steen (Owens) and El Generico (Zayn) was a great match. It was so violent, it looked great and it made sense because of the feud.
I don't know if keeping the Briscoes off AEW is jealousy on the part of the EVPs or fear that the Briscoes would actually eat them alive in the ring.

FTR and Briscoes, I'm sure are pleasant and professional off camera, but they look like grown ass rough adults who look like they can pound the stuffing out of you just for looking at them the wrong way.

A bit of both along with the fact that if they pulled any bs backstage like with Punk, the Briscoes WOULD beat them within an inch of their lives.
And if Tony lost Cody, Punk, Regal, and more names the fans respect, I think the bloom would be off the rose for the AEW hardcore fans because even they would start putting 2 and 2 together.
It's a combination of those 2 things plus one alphabet mafia member on WB's board being a shitty human being and bringing more ill will (in this case we'll deserved) to their community.

What I love about this is the brutality. This is the combination of great American wrestling and the brutality of garage wrestling where the violence is pointless. Only this time it is. There was something so hard to watch yet can’t look away situation. Just perfect
The only brisco match I've ever seen was them versus The Hardy boys about 5 years ago in the Omega promotion in North Carolina and they were in a school gymnasium and they absolutely tore the house down. It was one of the best tag team matches I have ever seen in my life

Briscoes vs FTR could very well be the best trilogy of the year, Seth and Cody as well. And potentially Punk and MJF if things weren’t the way they are

I was there and I will never forget this match, listening to Corny talk about it so glowingly is so validating. It’s a moment and a memory I’ll never forget. RIP Jay thank you for all you did. Briscoes forever.

Tony is pandering to the EVP's. He has proven in extreme ways over the last two years that he'd rather impress Kenny and the Bucks than to actually put the best wrestling on his shows.

This was the best tag team match since the days of (non WWF) ECW. FTR and The Briscoes are up there with The Eliminators, RVD and Sabu and The Dudleys.

The more I watch AEW, the more I don't like it. A bunch of former WWE guys that they don't have any real storylines and a lot of the show seems like they are copying the WWE. I remember when they first started they said they were going to go back to old school wrestling. Never happened.
I stopped watching after last Year's ROH ppv when Tony wouldn't sign the Briscoes.

I bought the PPV before they announced this match. Over all the show was ok. This match was the match of the night. The good thing was there was no wild brawl stuff before this match. The Pure title match was pretty good too. Totally agree the Briscoes haven't done anything worse than say something stupid. Honor Club... well better than nothing I guess.

I watched what was unfortunately the FINAL tag team match of The Briscoe Bros. It was ANOTHER classic. Rest In Power, Jamin. You and Mark gave us all you had. I pray one day Mark will find the strength to return and pick up the mantle once again, once he's made peace with all these TRAGIC events that has befallen him and the Briscoe family. #PeaceNBlessings to Mark and his ENTIRE community.
Dax recently said that young bucks should be on mount Rushmore even dax said he does not like there style but believes they should be on it. Because the point is just because someone wrestles different doesn't mean they are any less good.

The reason they had the dog collar match is because the Briscoes lost two matches that “weren’t their style” and wanted a match in their wheelhouse. It was supposed to be a Ladder War, but allegedly someone didn’t want to have a “big bump” match.
The ref's blade job was excellent
FTR and Briscoe Brothers are the only reason I would watch the ppv.
This match should have been the marquee match that you hyped for weeks or even months even if it was on CZcams. Not a match that was announce after one of the teams just lost a match and another unrelated team announced the challenge for the opposing team’s behalf.

Imagine if AEW had a tag team division of FTR, The Briscoes, Samoa Joe and Fatu, The Acclaimed, The Gunn Club and Jay Lethal and either Swerve or Starks.
Motor City Machine Guns would be great too, and if i need to bring some Tag Team from WWE, i would pick Moustache Mountain (they already have Trent Seven🤷🏻).

The legit only reason I purchased that ppv crazy how this year of wrestling has been had bright spots through out Punk vs MJF in Chicago and Revolution A+ FTR vs Briscoes II and III A++ Sami Zayn becoming possibly the biggest baby face in wrestling the past couple months, MJF promo in June, Cody vs Seth at HIAC, Gunther vs Sheamus at Clash at the Castle A+++ and Brock vs Roman at summerslam A+ yet somehow I feel as if wrestling is in a very sketchy spot on all sides

I mean it’s sad to say that FTR was treated a million times better even at their end run of WWE than their entire run in AEW but it’s true. Teams like FTR & Death Triangle deserve the world but unfortunately because The Elite are so deep in TK’s ear they’ll always play second & third fiddle to thrift store level wrestlers.
I keep hearing Penta and Fenix can have solid wrestling matches, but they seem to do the same thing time constantly in AEW. I guess, unfortunately, that's keeping your spot and job by keeping the EVPs happy.

The best and only watch worth watching on the ROH PPV and it wasn't even on the card. Because Tony Khanman realized no one gives a fuck about Jericho, Wheelie, or Garcia. This was a hell of a match, but it clicked all the boxes. The only bad thing is FTR lost the titles, and the Briscoes will never be seen on AEW TV. We then learned after 10 mins of Tony beating around the bush, that there is still no ROH TV deal, so the only time we'll see the Briscoe is to pay 10 bucks a month for Honor Club. Both teams deserve better for being two of the best tag teams of all time. Now FTR has to deal with the Assboys and hold two titles no one cares about.

How would one person at the network who apparently doesn't watch this shit otherwise be specifically incensed at a decade plus old tweet to the point of actively preventing Tony Khan from putting The Briscoes on TV? I'm willing to bet that was a _shared_ source for both things.

Jim is right. I get where FTR and the Briscoes are from. Moxley and Jericho are catering to the markish audience. You can cater to a small audience, but they are exactly that...Markish. You need to cater nowadays to regular fans. That's why the territory era was so profitable back in its day...no one had to be smart. You just hated a bad guy and rooted for the good guy, period.
