"Jet Airliner" is my favorite Steve Miller tune, but they've got a library of good ones.
"Jet Airliner" is one of my favorite Steve Miller songs...found out that the original is by a guy named Paul Pena. Check out the Paul Pena version sometime. It's a banger too.
Don't forget "Threshold" must be played as its intended intro.
I'm partial to Abracadabra
Great song written by Paul Pena
"Rockn' Me" and "Take The Money and Run" are two more to check out.
They're great!
This song has a more psychedelic version, you haven't lived until you've seen the video "Midnight Special Steve Miller Band Fly Like An Eagle". It's literally hypnotizing
Agreed and imo that's my fav version , it's super hypnotising and as you said , has a psychedelic feel to it.
Midnight special had some amazing performances
@@gduhate I remember staying up late and watching it and Don Kirshner"s Rock Concert.
I much prefer this one to the Midnight Special version... it's rare that I would feel that about a song done on that show!
That one is incredible. That bass player in that is so good 👍
"The Joker" from the Steve Miller Band is a must! :) Great song with a great groove.
Jungle Love and Jet Airliner are two of his best , iMHO .
Luv your channel !
...jungle love in the surf in the pouring rain, everything's better when wet..
This is another great song. They played this a lot in the 70s and 80s on the radio. SEAL did a great version of this in the 90s. ✌️
They cut off the extended outro...totally unlistenable.
Amazing remake 😁
1976! I was still a kid but I remember always hearing this on the radio along with "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas, "Blinded by the Light" by Manfred Mann, "Cold as Ice" by Foreigner, and "Hotel California" by The Eagles. Looking up the dates of those songs, that means "Fly Like an Eagle" was still in heavy rotation on the radio well into 1977!
Steve Miller and Boz Skaggs were in a band called the Marksmen back in 1955. Started playing in Jr. High. That just slays me.
THE STEVE MILLER BAND "SPACE COWBOY",, "LIVING IN THE USA",, "THE JOKER",, "THE WINDOW" & "WINTER TIME" & MANY MORE.
Your saving grace, going to Mexico, motherless children, going to the country, low low calqulator
Don't forget to listen to some boz skaggs original member of Steve Miller band
A MUST HEAR ROCK ANTHEM,, BILLY THORPE "CHILDREN OF THE SUN"..AN ABSOLUTE CLASSIC..R.I.P. BILLY 🙏
Yes yes yes...
Who's he?
Steve was the Godson and learned to play guitar from the legendary Les Paul.
Watch....people will always debate "who invented Rock N Roll". Was it Elvis? Little Richard? Chuck Berry? Sister Rosetta Tharpe? etc etc. 95% of the time, you will see the common link to what defines "rock n roll" is an electric guitar. That means Les Paul invented Rock N Roll.
damn i didnt know that. i know he was called Stevie Guitar Miller. did not know he learned from Les
@@Gekokujo76 But Les played Jazz until he died. Don't limit that guitar to just one genre. Everyone uses or mimics the design.
the US postal service used this song as a commercial for years when you would have been a kid, you might have heard it then.
Rock ‘n Me is another great tune by this band
The 70s were my teen years and there really was a lot of great music and even if you weren't necessarily a fan of the particular group it was music everyone could enjoy.
This was a particularly excellent and very popular group with probably their best known song.
My daughters think I'm bullshitting them when I tell them how good music then. That's fortunate as not much else was.
You guys are putting a Herculean effort into creating all these videos of great 70s songs.
Well done!!!
My parents were teens in the 70's. I've been listening to music from the 70's my whole life. I've always liked it, but grew to appreciate it as I've gotten older.
Thank You..Very well put!! 70s!!
Totally agree, graduated in 72 and this music was weekly and never stopped for years, started in the 60's!
@@dicklindell948 yes, and I don't think people today realize that, that every week there were new songs.
70's had a lot of great music . I'm happy I grow up in that time and I introduced my kids to this music and I'm so happy that they all love it 💕
Steve Miller is a rabbit hole you should definitely dive into! Y'all are so much fun to watch!
If you want to hear synthesizer in a classic rock song I suggest listening to Frankenstein by Edgar Winter, and watch the version when he performed it on The Midnight Special
THE absolute best version of that song!
The only worthwhile version of "Frankenstein" is the studio version. The live ones are just a mess.
THE ICICLE WORKS "BIRDS FLY" (WHISPER TO A SCREAM)
"A lot of Songs from the 70s always makes me want to move my neck" might be one of the funniest things Lex has ever said! 🤣. You two are Amazing 😄❤️
It makes me want mushrooms
Brad & Lex, their Jet Airliner, Swingtown, Rock n Me, Take The Money And Run and Junglelove are next for you. Great intro on Jet Airliner.
Wild mountain honey
Steve Miller is a great musician, composer and guitar player . His "range" was from very proggresive to very popie. From "Fly like an Eagle" to "Abracadabra" , lots and lots of great songs . "Serenade", "The Joker", "Winter time", "Keep on Rockin' me" , "Jet Airliner", "Jungle love" and many others good songs that were also hits at the time . Great choise.
So good! Take the Money and Run is another great one
Steve Miller "wild mountain honey"
Steve Miller wrote so many great songs. great reaction keep that 70s music coming.
This WHOLE Album (Fly Like An Eagle) Is Great From The First Song To The Very Last...If You Were Fortunate Enough (Like Myself) To See/Hear/Experience The Concert Tour For This One It Was Absolutely Excellent.
Lex nailed it! The Steve Miller Band was one of the few 70s bands that understood what the new synthesizer could do for a bands sound.
You maybe heard the song from the original Space Jam with MJ.
For a good decade or so Steve Miller just made numerous hits. This is one of those songs where you turn the lights down, do a couple bong hits and just get lost in the music.
Steve Miller Band is cool. They've got a lot of legendary songs.
Will see him next week at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Denver, Colorado. September 11, 2023. He still sounds great, which is why he sells-out the place.
they got a few I like. abracadabra, take the money and run, and rock'n me.
SMB have an amazing back catalogue. IMO this is one of their best. Loved the later song Abracadabra too.
Mr. Miller was my boss in the early 80s. I worked on his ranch in Williams OR until he put it up for sale and sold it in 1986. He's Mr. Chill and the place was beautiful.
Back in the day we all would camp out, smoke weed, star gaze & listen to Steve Miller......Good Times
Lex's perma-smile is enough to brighten anyone's day! Love ya'll
Another FM favorite, Steve Miller Band. This song, man. People can name all of the other ones, but yeah. Good times, man.
DONNY IRIS "AH!! LEAH!!" & "LOVE IS LIKE A ROCK"
REAL LIFE "SEND ME AN ANGEL"
THE ROMANTICS "WHAT I LIKE ABOUT YOU",, "TALKING IN YOUR SLEEP",, "ONE IN A MILLION" & "WHEN I LOOK IN YOUR EYES"
Steve Miller Band = legendary.
My wife and I had our first Big date when I took her to Steve Miller in Pullman Washington in fall 1977. It wasn’t our first date but our first BIG date. We celebrated our 41st anniversary last October. He was huge at the time.
THE SPACE JAM FOR ALL YOU 90s KIDS OUT HERE
Yep, Seal's cover :)
Yessir
I actually was more familiar with the original version than the Space Jam version
The organ playing on this song is very very special.
Jetliner and Joker are my favorite Steve Miller songs. All of their songs were good.
Music that you could just sit back and chill with the tunes. The glory days
A cruiser 😂 nice!! Add that one to the list.🤘
I just got this notification...I was literally listening to this pulling up to the fuckin house🤣🤣...the 70s grooves are unstoppable they make ya spine wiggle!
Another really underrated band. I was also a teen in the 70's...still have this 45...yup, 45...
Fun story about Steve Miller... I saw him at Red Rocks years ago with Eric Johnson opening (if you don't know Eric you should check him out, he's a guitar genius/virtuoso!) At the end of the show, for an encore, Steve brought Eric back out to have a "guitar-off". As much as I love Steve, he was in WAY over his head with Eric (knowingly I'm sure) and conceded the competition to him with an "I'm not worthy" bow 🤣 Fantastic show!!!
The 70's bands were the cosmic explosion of unbridled talent! These days they are lacking in orginailty similar to the 90's! I was blessed this was my decade of becoming a teen to a man with dreams!
Nice to see Brad having more fun here!
Grew up with this song. But in 9th grade of junior high school we had a field trip to kings island. The Beast had just opened and we waited 2 hours in line to get on. It was rainy and they played this song on a loop. I was terrified. Tried many ways to get out of riding but my friends insisted. It’s been over 30 years but whenever o hear this song it brings me back there.
I doped with this album in 1976 when i bougt it
So cool! I loved that song when I was a child. Greetings from Germany! ✌😊
I remember as teenager in the 70s walking down the railroad tracks with my friends blasting this song......ha
Aloha, Steve used to come to Maui every couple years...we loved him for that...High School memories...
Another favourite, thanks. Followed him from '67 onwards. A survivor, still playing.
This song came out when I was in 7th grade ...it still rocks
Oh hell yes,.. this song is freaking world class
Saw him, Tom Petty, and Peter Frampton at Mountain Jam, 2017, Hunter Mountain, N.Y. Awesome weekend jam.
A saw steve miller band in concert a couple years ago. Still great! Sooo many hits!
Check out Jet Airliner, Jungle Love, Take the Money and Run and Livin in the USA for more Steve Miller greatness.👍👍🤘🏻🎧
This is a vibe and smoking song ,so buckle up and start smoking.Awesome band to chill by.
Steve is so cool
Steve Miller music reminds me of swinging high on the swing set of my elementary school! Good times
You should listen to "Abracadabra" such a classic hit by them.
This song reminds me of the fair. Always played it by 1 of the rides since this came out lol! Yeah Im old... but still... went few years ago and BAM! It was there.
Steve Miller Band
Wild Mountain Honey
Jungle Love
One of my all time favourites. Gorgeous tune with great radical lyrics.
If you liked this, check out Steve Miller Band: "Take the Money and Run."
great interpretation of an eagle flying through the revolution...love it.
Steve Miller band had 12 albums that made the top 40. I don't know if there is a bad Steve Miller song. Well worth the journey.
Post Office commercials when you were younger is probably where you heard it.
Comrade Miller. Great song.
Great song remember hearing this to the soundtrack for a surf movie in the 70s.
I got to give this one to Brad. When he asked Lex if she could move her neck without moving her head and the reaction of Lex. I almost spit my beer out on the monitor...
Yes, orange shag carpet, lava lamps, black-light posters, incense, ashtrays, LP spinning on the console stereo, beanbag chairs.
Love the honesty Brad. I get tired of most reactors just love everything! There’s no way. I grew up with this music and I did not love EVERYTHING! Thank you peace ✌️
This was huge! Played a lot everywhere.
Checkout Swingtown by The Steve Miller Band. Actually there's tons of great songs to checkout. The Joker is another classic.
Always loved their drummer.
You need to hear Steve Miller Band "Jungle Love", yeah baby haha
i am addicted to the hammond organ sound 😍
Lex, the album and radio of the day played the 1:15 “SPACE INTRO” before this song, so you missed out on the connection when the synthesizer riffs were reincorporated later in the song.
I appreciate that Brad will tell it when he doesn't like something about a song.
Mercury Blues is one of my favorite songs from him
Steve Miller learned to play the guitar from Les Paul.
That Bucs shirt is outstanding. Go Bucs. I hope to be able to drive down and catch a game this year.
Great reaction guys. Try "Jet Airliner" by Steve Miller Band next.
one of my first concerts was Steve Miller. 2 summers in a row in 93 and 94 in the old Garden State Arts Building . passed out on the lawn staring at the night sky both times with lots of friends around. good times.
Brad, you might remember hearing this song as a kid if you ever saw Space Jam. Although the version in the movie is a cover by Seal.
"Abracadabra" and "Rock n' Me" are my favorites from them.
I really dig this tune
Imo one of the best songs ever
Lex is Brad's chicken!! Dance, chicken! XD LOL
Love to watch Brad's face!
My memory has gotten faulty through the years but I remember August 27th 1977. I was at Anaheim Stadium on the 2nd deck that was bouncing up and down to Steve Miller. The reason I remember Steve Miller is because the stadium was bouncing with a scary huge amount of movement but only to Steve Miller. (Built to withstand the earth quakes of "Shaky Town" LA) I don't remember the other bands except for one. That was because on October 20th, their plane crashed killing 3 band members, the pilot, co-pilot, and their road manger. Lynyrd Skynyrd was to last band to play.
Yep Jetairliner another great song
APRIL WINE "Sign Of The Gypsy Queen".
3-guitarist band from 1970s Canada. This one gets requested every 70s chat but never got voted in.
The Joker and Jet Airliner are must`s!
This one was covered by seal
Seal had a good song called Crazy.
Space Cowboy Steve from Austin Texas. Awesome party music.
used to "fly" listening to this
