I picked up a Gen 5 22 back in February and it’s absolutely pulled me more towards the Gen 5s. When the G5 G21 was announced I was ECSTATIC. Went to the local shop to check it out and to my very own surprise I personally felt it wasn’t worth the upgrade from my Gen 4 G21 I personally don’t run optics, so the polymer optic plate really threw me off of the gun. Needless to say the G21 is definitely an undefeated legend regardless of the Gen 🔥💪🏽

My wife wants the Gen 5 she has the gen 4 and she likes it but since the gen 5 19 and 17 came out she really likes the upgrades all together but especially likes the mag well bevel so this will be her home mama bear gun, she ain’t nobody’s little girl she can handle it just fine. I’m gonna get one too
A great video. The Glock 21 is an amazing pistol, whether it's gen 4 or five. I like the little slight improvements in Gen 5, especially the mos. Although I think all the Gen fives are a little too shiny. Glocks are Glocks. There nowadays trench guns. In other words, they are not supposed to be pretty. They're just supposed to function no matter what. Dingham up, scratch em, use the slide of the Glock 21 to beat your enemy to death when you run out of bullets. 😂😂😂love the g21. It's as if the grip was designed to fit my hands. I use the third-largest backstrap and it is money.
I just picked up my 21 gen 5 last week and got the holosun 509t and the XS suppressor sights … Going to try and shoot it next week…. To be able to use it like a normal human is amazing……lol
@@sacrificialscience4405 Yep I carried a 21sf and 30sf as work guns for a decade…..the 13round mags fit the 30 so I didn’t have to carry extra mags….. I can’t wait for the 30 gen 5 to come out so I can do that again… I’m using a 43 with the tlr6 on my ankle right now……
I'm going to spend my money on my gen 4 and just get some different caliber set ups. I absolutely love my gen 4 and other than the ambidextrous mag release and the tapered slide on the gen 5. I like the gen 4 better. I don't like the front slide grip on the gen 5. I think the gen 4 looks better 😂

I sold the gen 4. The gen 5 is superior in every way, unless you like the finger grooves. The trigger is better, ambi slide stop/catch, red dot cut and front slide cuts. As a lefty, it feels way better.
It looks like the G21 gen 5 barrel would fit into a G30 as an extended barrel. The barrel lugs looks the same, as well as the locking block. Do you have a G30 that you could confirm?
I previously had a gen 4. I really would like to get a gen5 but I have plans to make a .45 suppressor host and the gen 5 has no available threaded barrels. As a glockHead fan boy, I'm contemplating jumping ship in this case and going for the FN 545 that is basically turn key...threaded barrel, suppressor height sights and 18 round mags out of the box.
I did shoot it today. Need to run more rounds through it to get enough to say whether or not it’s as dependable as the gen 4. Shot 130 rounds out of it with zero issues. It already feels better than the gen 4

$699 question: Trade off a Gen 4 G21 to get a Gen 5? Yes, I know the correct answer is have both, but Mr. Checkbook may not agree. Put 65 rounds through my G21.4 today and it is just the gentle giant in terms of recoil. My Sig P220 has much more recoil and muzzle flip.

@gregt5421 yes it does. I own the gen 4 and when I fired the gen 5, I wanted to switch almost immediately. I'm an ambidextrous shooter, and my left hand firing felt much better with the gen 5

The gen 5 is really good shooting 45. The difference in between the 4 and 5 is pretty noticeable. If she likes the gen 4, she’ll love the gen 5.

The gen 5 barrel is different on the bottom. If you did put that in a 30, the recoil assembly would be too short for it

The FN does look like a better option as far as features go. But I still love the Glock 21
I think for the price of some of those FN pistols you could get an HK 45.
@LawlessNate while H&K is awesome, the only pistols i like out of the box are the VP striker guns...I absolutely hate their da/sa triggers.

i have a gen 4 g21. maybe it's just me but the slide is hard to pull with 13 in the mag. is it still that way with the gen 5?
The gen 5 is the same way. I’ve noticed that with a few other guns as well though with a full mag.
Is the grip smaller/more comfortable on the gen5 over the gen4?
It’s the same size but the finger grooves not being on the gen 5 make it feel smaller.

Thank you!! As a lefty, the gen 5 makes more sense. The recoil feels a bit lighter on the gen 5 as well. But you can’t go wrong with either one.

Yes they do. Any generation of 21 magazine will fit as long as the mag release hasn’t been swapped for left handed operation.

I believe it’s worth the upgrade. The ergonomics and optic cut are worth the price.

There isn’t much aftermarket support for the gen 5 21 yet. Triggers, barrels and springs will be a little bit probably.

Honestly, I’m not sure. I never put back straps on the 45 Glocks. Didn’t want to make the grip any larger than it already is.
