  • This old girl is getting ready for another trip or two around the barley field.
Glen says that for every hour that this combine will be running this season he will probably have put in an hour of fixing or maintenance on it.

Great video in showing some of the work that goes into maintaining a old classic combine, Thanks.

Thank you! We thought to split this pre-harvest combine fixing into two videos so it wasn’t so daunting to watch, we hoped! Part two is chains and straw walkers. 😊

The front beater shaft has a groove for an o ring to keep the bearing from turning on the shaft

I hope so! Quick before the old girl breaks something else. She’s kinda like a frail senior.... 😂
We had so much video on the fixing we broke it into 2 parts.

@@TheCowEmporium I appreciate the fact that you folks are still running the older machines that you can still work on instead of going and buying new stuff. I love machines I can work on if I need to.

I watch the new combines and they need just as much work as this one it seems

Hi there! We wouldn’t have thought so but Glen worked as a grain cart driver for the people we are doing a crop share with this year and their brand new combine had as many breakdowns as our old 860.
Glen couldn’t believe it! Thanks for watching.
      Take care,
      Annette🌺

Ya, we gave up trying to fix our old girl up for now. We have someone doing our farming on crop share.
We did see you fire up that combine. Pretty cool!

Hello. I enjoyed watching your video alot. That is a very nice Shed that you have there to keep your Combine inside. What size is the Shed you have there to keep your Combine inside if I may ask you

Easier to get to the front beater with the trunking off. Leave header connected, drop the lift rams, drive chains, hyd pipes and reverse away from it.
